Although the wizened old days of thejetsblog on Blogspot and PressHarbor are gone (and so are the comments, in many cases) Bent just told us that thejetsblog.com is closing in within the next 24 hours, on 100,000 comments since we started using WordPress as our platform a few years ago.
It’s milestones like that remind us to say that we have been so proud to be a part of this experiment over the past five years. It’s your thoughts, dedication, emails and encouragement that keep us going day in and out.
Although 100,000 comments is a pretty cool mark, it’s a rather small indication of just how much you the readers and commenters have given back to this blog. Sure, 100,000 comments sounds like a lot, but it’s even more impressive when you read many of the smart, and funny thoughts and insights that are often contained within just one of those comments. Somehow, our words get to go at the top of the page, but for every post we make, your thoughts written below ours make this blog far better than we could ever imagine.
Thanks again, you make this job fun and we truly couldn’t do it without you. We’re looking forward to a great season and hope you are too!

Too bad 100,000 comments won’t guarantee all of us long-suffering J-E-T-S fans another Super Bowl victory.
But seriously – congrats on the milestone. I come to this blog FIRST when I want to know what’s going on with my favorite team.

Congrats everyone, I remember reading the blog when it would get 10 comments at most on a topic
-
Congrats on the major success. Hope all is well

It’s a testament to how accessible the site is. A lot of other blogs you have to sign in and remember passwords or do other things to be able to post.
-
its been a while since i posted but still use this site first for jets news
-
Check the site everyday. One of the things I look forward to daily!
Great job guys

Man, I remember coming to this site years and years ago, and there would be like 3 responses to an entry. Game Day Threads would have like 12 posts, unless something huge happened–then we might have 15.
Congrats, guys, this thing has come a long, long way.

Oh, and bring back the TJB Snarkies. With the emergence of blogging as a tool used by mainstream journalist types, we have a lot of ammunition now.
-

nice job guys… you do a hell of a job…..
ps, just saw on an espn news scroll, denver wants David Harris for Marshall.. anyone else see that? That’s crazy!
-
@JetObsessed-
Damn. Hopefully Tannenbaum laughs in the face of Xanders and hangs up the phone.
-
I wouldn’t trade Harris for Marshall straight up, let alone throw in a draft pick, too!
Then again, this is out of the Broncos camp — I don’t blame them for trying …
Now, if Mr. T counters with Gholston, well, then …
-
Is this post 100,000?
