DeVito Still Not Practicing

by Bassett on September 8th, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Hutch reports that Mike DeVito, who’s supposed to start this weekend didn’t practice today due to his hamstring issues.

DE Mike DeVito (hamstring) didn’t practice during the portion of practice open to the media. DeVito has supposed to replace Ellis as the starter at left end for Week 1 against the Houston Texans, but now third-stringer Sione Pouha has been elevated to first string.

That Pouha is playing the end spot is interesting, and shows that the Jets will be covering up that “End” a bunch this weekend with Thomas or Gholston. Stay tuned, DeVito might be back by Thursday, but we’ll just have to see how this progresses.

The JETS are weak at DR with the current starters and their back ups. I am not impressed with with DeVito. The JETS need to pick up a player to play DE.
