Just a reminder about the tailgate this weekend.
Want to meet up pre-game this weekend?
We know, it’s a little last minute, but it’s clear that there’s some electricity in the air right now around the Patriots game this weekend. Sanchez’s solid performance against the Texans, a surging defense, a coach that’s called the fans to ask for their loud support .. so we want to know … who’s going to be at the game this weekend and who’s going to join @e_man and I for a Tweetup (en vogue name for a meetup / drinkup / TAILGATE) before the game?
Since this is our first go, we’re going to do our best to provide what we can, but this will likely be (mostly) BYOB event.
Thanks to the good folks at Tailwaters, we’re going to have some food and drink there.
We will be providing food and drink for $10 per head … that’s about what you’d get charged if you bought one burger in the game.
I know Erik and I would love to talk about the Jets, football and whatever else pre-game, so if you’re interested, let us know in the comments, and sign up below (you do need a Twitter account to sign up for this, I believe, get one and follow @e_man, @thejetsblog) while you’re at it. If you refuse to “go Twitter” then just shoot us an email, but via Twitter would be best .. and you can follow the Tweets from the meetup even if you aren’t at the tailgate because you are home, cross the country or stuck in traffic.
Here’s how you get to where we’re tailgating.
Please join us! We’d love to see you there!

Train stops is front of new stadium.

As someone who has continually seen fans popping open another cold one and thowing more saugage on the grill a half hour before kick off, I plead for you guys and gals to wrap up the tailgate with enough time to get through the gate, past security, to the bathroom and the beer line and to your seats in time for introductions.
You are great fans once you get into the stadium, but too many times the seats are half empty halfway through the first quarter.
Thank you for your cooperation

OFF TOPIC = Found a great site for finding out what games you will see locally in your area
-
will be there bright and early as always. agree with wise old…… we must get in early. the place has to rock. you know there will be the usual amount of obnoxious patriot front runners in attendance. this is OUR time to shine. we are the best fans in the league. period.
-
After listening to Rex, Scott and the other guys, I am bringing my helmet and shoulder pads becuase I just want to hit somebody!! Anyone else down?
-
Thanks for the tip on the train. I’m no season ticket holder but this one I just can’t miss. Patriot week and I’m pumped.
-
Well ide love to come by, but beer is much cheaper at home. Thanks Woody!
ESPN reporting that Jets are fined and so is mangini and Tanny for the favre injury report thing. At least its not a draft pick.
-
oops. thats not my email addy
-
Not only is the beer cheaper at home, but you don’t have to pay $20 going to $40 in 2011 for parking.
ESPN is reporting that the JETS were fined $125,000 by the league for the Favre incident. Look for parking to increase $5 per game in 2010 so Woody can remain solvent.

In Rex we Trust. I am so pumped for this game on sunday.. i will be tailgating bright and early… see you all in 13D
-
Man, tweetup sounds incredibly gay………and I use twitter.
-
If this isn’t a must win I don’t know what is…
The Jets get no respect for one reason and I NEED this Win to rub in every Pats fans face I know…. -
does anyone know if the jets picked up hank baskett off of waivers?
-
Ah Jets fans. How I love you all. I distinctly remember coming to this site last season, the game after Brady’s leg was shredded. Eeerily similar thoughts from all you fans on “destroying” the Pats and “making a statement”. We all know how that turned out right? Also, whoever draws conclusions from two week 1 games needs their internet privileges revoked. Sanchez is going to be in tears by halftime with all the looks Belichick will be throwing his way.
“Oh yay! No Mayo! We are surely going to win now!” Sure. The Jets will always be the nail and the Patriots the hammer.
-
haha brady2welkah…
i just have a question for you… how scared and mad were you when the patriots were losing 24-13?
remember that feeling because thats what you will be feeling when the game is over this sunday.
-
Haha good one.
-
Does anybody know of a Jet tailgate bus leaving from Long Island? I’m looking to connect with a crew that brings people out to games for a fee.
-
Are there such buses leaving brooklyn or manhattan?
-
I’ve only driven in once before, can someone tell me which lot is 13D?
Also, I am a cautiously optomistic Jet fan. Like Joe Beningo said the other day “Let’s get excited, but don’t get stupid.” I’m as pumped up as I’ve ever been, but let’s remember that being a jets fan islike being in an abusive relationship: I always end up drunk and holding back tears.
-
I’m going to still go in when i always do, 5 minutes after the game starts. And i will still scream as loud as i always do. If the players need US to be loud in order to get pumped up and win, then this is going to be another long, long, L-O-N-G season.
-
See you all in 13D
-
david harris….baskett got signed by the colts lasnite
-
if the home losing streak to the pats dont end this sunday i dont think it ever will

Jets’ Sanchez voted Pepsi Rookie of the Week
NFL.comVoters on NFL.com have made their choice. Quarterback Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets is the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for games played on Sept. 10-14, the NFL announced Friday.
Sanchez recorded the third most passing yards in NFL history for a rookie in Week 1 with 272 yards. He completed 18 of 31 passes with one touchdown and one interception for a passer rating of 84.3 in the Jets’ 24-7 win over the Houston Texans. Sanchez led a Jets offense that gained a total 462 yards and controlled the ball for nearly 39 minutes.
Sanchez was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com/rookies. The other finalist s were wide receiver Kenny Britt of the Tennessee Titans, wide receiver Percy Harvin of the Minnesota Vikings, wide receiver Louis Murphy of the Oakland Raiders and tackle Michael Oher of the Baltimore Ravens.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLIV in South Florida.

This is Pepsi’s eighth year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the fifth year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.

By the way, ESPN Radio is reporting theat the Patsies under Bellijerk have only lost to one rookie QB, Big Ben of the Steelers. Let’s hope it is two come Sunday evening.
-
I feel the need to state the obvious here…This is a must WIN. The New York Jets have talked it up into that, plus Im sure all of us know some Patsie fans they would love to brag about this game to.
Also with a win here we get the Much needed respect we deserve. Imagine if we win sunday we could easily have a 4-1 start. Im nervous about that Saints game Drew Brees is amazing.
Back to the point if we end this streak Sunday that would make my whole month of September and possibly some of October. -
anyone following the war of words between kerry and rodney harrison on twitter. i want to see kerry flatten brady on the first drive of the game, and than again on the second. we’re going to back up our safety in a big way on sunday i can feel it.
-
LJ – I am, man should all of us try to stop him before he gets a fine or something?
-
Week 2 being a must-win has not been the case for any team in any season.
How about a little perspective? It’s 16 games. You could look back on a loss Sunday as the point where the team realized they had a lot of work to do and turned it on. You don’t know how the season will turn out. A must win. Come on now.
-
its becoming a little excessive but harrison is way out of line. taking what kerry said way out of context. no one ever said they were going for bradys knees, in fact kerry said the opposite, when asked that, he said they’ll only play hard to the whistle.
and this is nothing like the anthony smith thing from 2 years ago, kerry is a far better player, and if brady wants to try to throw at rhodes to show him up like he did to smith, i’m confident he’ll make some plays on sunday.
-
Well, pft actually did (preposterously) make the assertion that Kerry was threatening to cheap shot him, when all he said was that he’ll be uncomfortable because of the knee, so it is out there and Kerry is right to defend himself against such ludicrous accusations. I think he handled it well actually.
He keeps emphasizing they will TRY to embarrass them. Again, it’s clear he has faith in his team and desperately wants to win, which nobody can have a problem with. It’s – as usual – the media taking it out of context to set him up for a fall. Let’s just hope they win, to put this to bed.
-
LJ- agreed. Then Harrison trying to compare Kerry’s and his’s careers is crazy. I have two rings you haven’t won a playoff game. Stuff like that is just crazy.
greg sec 130 – How many Week 2 games have been hyped up like this one? This game has been talked about so much I almost forgot it was Week 2. -
funny little spat between k rhodes and rodney…looks like rodney making things up saying rhodes said something about bradys knees…harrison was the most fined player of all times and didnt win **** like many until he joined up with belicheat….always hated rodney cause he was a dirty player
-
Rodney harrison is tryin 2 start sh** with rhodes on twitter
-
My goal is to have relations with the chick of a Pat fan…see you in the parking lot heheheheh
…i am totally serious
-
Rodney Harrison and Rhodes are going at it on Twitter.
Is it me or is Rodney Harrison is total jacka$$?
-
Harrison saying he accomplished so much wen we no the pats cheated in at least 1 superbowl (eagles) nd mayb against the steelers in the playoffs
-
Harrison is a bum!
-
Usually I’m all about sprtsmanship, but if the Jets signed Tonya Harding and let her blitz on every play from the weak side until she completed a succesful kneecapping of that asshat Brady, I’d find absolutely nothing wrong with that.
