this is absolutely rediculous! the jets go 3-0 beat 3 tough teams, and fransesca is bashing them! he opens up bashing the stupid jerseys (which i actually like, but its irrelevant), and is just bashing the jets. Does he realize that the giants have beat two horrific teams, and got a game handed to them by the cowboys. cmon a friggin int off wittens shoe! But no, never criticize the giants, they can do no wrong, just bury the jets. What do they have to do to get some respect from that clown?

I have never been a fan of TO, but I actually think he’s handling himself prety well considering the circumstances. The media is out to get him — asking very provocative questions in order to get a sound byte, but he’s refusing to give them anything, so they turn it into a story about him sulking. And good for him for ripping Rodney Harrison a new one by calling him a steroid-using cheater.

“I watch more football than anyone in the world” ..”Can we calm down on rex Ryan”….if you’ve watched more football than anyone in the world, than you would understand how a Jets fanbase that has watched nothing but consistant prevent defense for the past 10 years, then you would understand the excitement.

  4. avatar They Chose Me says:

I am listening too. They look good, and at least he is evaluating through the lens of a top team, not a nice team. He is talking about bye weeks, which is nice.

I am concerned with the run game, and I believe it is a product of the quarterback. I believe alot of success last year was due to Favre, and having to respect the passing game. Hopefully defenses will loosen up as the year goes on and Sanchez does more, and the Jets can run free!

  5. avatar They Chose Me says:

He is a pompous jerk, but how long has he been doing this? You are suprised?

He raises good points, the Jets got out played yesterday. But that is the mark of a good team, being able to get back up and win the game. My concern is the running game. Obviously, playing good defenses (NE and TEN) makes it hard.

I believe the running game is one area where they miss Favre. After Sanchez shows some more, and forces teams to account for his abilities it should open the running game up more, but it was respect for Favres ability that allowed them to run the ball succesfully.

  6. avatar john sec.125 says:

francesca is the typical giant fan with a superiority complex. the jets game won the ratings for the time slot and he’s making excuses for the reason. hey mike, if the giants own new york, like you’ve been saying for years, why was the game between the jets and a team from tennessee of all places, watched by more people than the giant game. then you make fun of the throwbacks. have you looked closely at the giant uniforms? those gray pants are really attractive.

  7. avatar Jack says:

Er, not to pick nits but the Bills did a great job against Brees but got torched on the ground. Interestingly, Brees looked positively pedestrian with a strong rush against him. I think there might be a lesson there.

  8. avatar They Chose Me says:

The Giants do own New York, there is no debating that. The same way the Yankees own NY, it is what it is. The team has been around for 100 years.

Forget him, why bother? You can say what you need to, 3-0 is indisputable (unless your Denver).

  9. avatar Dirty#6 says:

the giants own new york until they start sucking again and then all of a sudden all their new hardcore fans will be wearing jets green and raving about how they called the ’09-’14 jets championships from the start.

  10. avatar AKA...Drew says:

Francessa just likes to talk crap while sitting on his fat ass. Everybody knows the Titans were desperate and if it wasnt for a Sanchez fumble in Titans territory the game might have been over.

Collins was throwing miracles completetions to make it a game and we turned up the heat in the 4th quarter. Fact is this is a game we usually lose and yesterday we didnt

  11. avatar john sec.125 says:

all it takes to become relevant in new york is WINNING. the only reason the yankees and giants seem to be more popular is because they have been more sucessful recently. i remember going to both yankee and met games in 1969. you couldn’t fit a mouse in shea, but yankee stadium was an empty canyon. the jets have a younger fan base. a few winning seasons and playoff appearances will narrow the gap tremendously.

  12. avatar AKA...Drew says:

loving that TO called out R Harrision. Wonder if NBC will bring it up next week. Probably not since they wont touch the HGH story

  13. avatar starz31 says:

the giants dont bother me, same with the yankees, i just dont care about them. Yes, they own NY, and they should own NY, they freaking won a SB 2 years ago, good for them. Whatever.

Francesa’s job is to alienate listeners, so then they can call-in, and he can dictate the conversation to make himself look in the Right 100% of the time. He’s a sensationalist biased talk-show host. no surprise there. The only way he’ll ever lose his job is if the people just stop listening to him. Ratings speak. But I wouldn’t hold my breath.

  14. avatar starz31 says:

I cant see NBC bringing it up..not with Rodney in-studio. Has he had any rebuttals to Owens tweets?

And the press is out for blood with Owens. I dont feel sorry for the guy, cause he’s brought it upon himself over the years, but still, the press is not being professional with him.

  15. avatar Dirty#6 says:

Jets games are infanitely more fun than giant games, a bunch of old richie riches who’s tickets have been in the Esquire family for generations..lol. Take your old front running fans Giants, and keep knocking the Jets, because clearly Fransesca you’re scared. Rex Ryan should challenge him to a hot dog eating competition, I’d watch it!

  16. avatar Steve Magz says:

Who cares what everyone else says about the JETS, i dont let any of that bother me, everyone knows the Giants have the one of the “easier” scheudles right now in the league, and Jets have a first 4 tough games, (3-0, so far so good)…..so lets continue to root for our team, its better to be the underdog….we will fly under the radar, this way when we win, it will make them even more mad……..let the giants have the spotlight, so when they crumble in the season, when they finally play a decent football, not one that lost to the Lions, a team that is the most overated team in football(dallas) and tampa, a team that is jus horrendus looking

  17. avatar They Chose Me says:

The Giants are the best team in the NFL. Saying that does not take away from the Jets. I prefer it that way. Every time I saw one of those articles touting the Jets after the NE game, I just uttered “oh no……..”, because nothing good comes from that.

There is no rivalry, they play once every four years. They are in no direct competition– and if they end up playing im sure we will all have smiles on our faces.

  18. avatar john r says:

one thing that does drive me crazy about the jets is the fact that they will not switch it up on 1st down. please throw the ball once in a while, open up the field
and then our running backs will be more of a factor. also its seems like we havent thrown a solid screen pass all season

also, i hate to say it but the giants are the most complete team in the NFL. They just do everything right, but dont worry we will be there soon

  19. avatar Zartan says:

john r, so your saying Shotty sucks?! The man refuses to pass on 1st downs or run on 3rd but like some others, ill just say T.J lost a step.

if Sanchez was not so good as to Void these gaffs we would be in a heap of trouble.

  20. avatar brian311 says:

with guys like fat francessa, lombardi, and florio – you just have to recognice they have an ax to grind against the jets, and just either totally dismiss what they say or take it with a huge grain of salt.

  21. avatar brian311 says:

    **recognize

  22. avatar starz31 says:

Schotty has a lot of good things going for him…but i think he suffers from the Mangini/Belichik aspect of sometimes outhinking himself.

  23. avatar ramble914 says:

We should all boycott Francessa. The guy is a total blowhard.

    BOYCOTT FRANCESSA!!

  26. avatar capojv says:

The Giants do own New York ….. ,
Are you serious ? Niether the Giants or Jets own NY . You might have the name , but don’t have the state . Since when is New Jersey any part of New York . There is only one true New York team and that is Buffalo Bills ( plays in Orchard Park ( Buffalo ) NY .

  27. avatar Max says:

Been a Jets fan since 1967! Seen it all…..Let’s all breath easy and enjoy…ahhhhh…3-0 everything is right with the world….Just one game at a time.
