Well, after his dad died you couldn't say a bad thing about his dad even though it was the truth because all of a sudden he lost all perspective and his old man was the greatest guy ever. Yet before his dad died he hated him with a passion and him and his bro used to fight their dad (physically) all the time and call him an A-hole.
