TJB Radio Show Wrap-up

by Corey Griffin on October 10th, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Well, another episode of the TJB Radio Show is in the books. We didn’t get the guests we were hoping for — the Cleveland blogger just flat-out never responded and there was a technical mishap getting Newsday’s Bob Glauber on the show, but we’ll make sure he does get back on later on in the season.

Some topics from the show:

  • We took some of your advice into the show, trying to structure the show more efficiently with two new segments: a mailbag and the Pick Six (a six pack of questions surrounding the Jets)
  • This guy Braylon Edwards was talked about. Go figure.
  • Can they fix the running game? Will Braylon help?
  • How will Braylon affect Sanchez?
  • Is Ndamukong Suh an option for the Jets in the draft going forward?
  • Which Miami pass rusher should the Jets really be worried about?
  • How big will Calvin Pace’s return be?
  • PROGRAMMING: We’ll be moving full-time to Wednesday afternoons starting this coming week. More details to follow in a separate host tomorrow so stay tuned.

Got a couple e-mails (one from a DANISH Jets blogger haha), a good number of chat questions, and a record number of calls. So keep it coming, folks!

See you next week, WEDNESDAY at 2:00 p.m. at BlogTalkRadio.com/TheJetsBlog!

Suh has been a force for Nebraska but I’m not sure if he has enough weight at 300 to play a traditional nose role. I still find Terrence Cody hard to resist should he become an option in ’10. Any NT with Ted Washington size is a rare occurrence.

  2. avatar Handsomelad says:

Suh would be a 3-4 DE AFAIK.

  3. avatar Nikolas says:

Suh is a beast and he can play in any defense and upgrade it right away. I wish we had a chance of drafting him.

  4. avatar rusty sanchez says:

i like the fact how braylon emphasized how he also can help the running game with his run block…i dont know if he is any good at it but at least hell try and maybe the will rub off on keller too

  5. avatar rusty sanchez says:

since some of yous are already talking about next years draft at least we dont have to draft out of necessity next year first time in a while especially since we are gonna only have like 3 picks…i say we go in 1st rd for a de or a nt then the other picks lets start getting or ol depth goin since faneca and woody is starting to show their age

  6. avatar Le' Sean Roberts says:

Ndamukong Suh is a top 15 right now. I would like to see some more pass rushing ability.

  7. avatar Zartan says:

we still need A DE that can get to the QB without blitz sceams, so we can get more coverage/sacks and turnovers.

i vote Greg Hardy or Terrance cody.If not get a WR ot OL

  8. avatar Bent says:

Eastside – that’s exactly what corey said on the show. I’m not convinced Rex needs a huge 350 pounder to make this defense work, but either way he would upgrade the line.

  9. avatar Green Lantern says:

Ndamukong Suh is a beast. most likely a top pick…hopefully we pick last.

  10. avatar EastSide says:

Suh’s versatility gives him more value in this defense but Cody’s exceptional size would mean very little drop off when he goes in for Jenks. Florida’s Carlos Dunlap is another intriguing lineman whose size and athleticism is reminiscent of Richard Seymour.

Sound wasn’t working on my comp so I went off of the transcript snippets. I’ll try listen to it tonight :/

  12. avatar Tom in Raleigh says:

Isn’t calling a segment on a Jets show the “Pick Six) a bit negative? Especially when you consider how the “Pick-six” just killed this team?

I would like to suggest the “Six Points” as the same idea with a much more positive connotation.

  13. Besides depth, we need a good slot receiver now that stuck is gone. Thinking about the possibility of cotch not being able to play shows just how thin we still are at WR. Too bad we couldn’t have kept stuck, but I’m sure the browns insisted on getting a decent WR back in the deal.
