PS: In answer to the extra point question in that same article (“…has there ever been another healthy wide receiever in his prime who experienced such a career decline? “)
Yes. Randy Moss in Oakland. (compare to BE in Cleveland) Look at him now in NE… and wait and see what Edwards looks like here in NY.
‘Nuff Said…
Peter King is the most over rated reporter in sports! More so than Gary Myers, who I can’t stand almost as much, but at least he has showed he knows more about the game than King. King just happens to kiss more ass nationally to get more access and therefor limelight, so he gets more national coverage. Bottom line is, he writes with such a high level of innacuracy, someone should start tracking him and have reporters stats…he would probably come in with more drops than Braylon Edwards, whom he was ripping.
BTW,give this kid (17) a chance. If anyone watched his press conference, he seems like a very respectful, articulate, charitable guy, who has had nothing really happen to him to give him a bad rap. These “transgressions” they talk about are a joke. He’s not a pain in the ass like TO and he’s certainly no PacMan Jones. He’s a good kid with terrific upside. Putting him in this environment will prove our nicely for Mr. T.
These numbers for 24 are sick!!!!!!!!!
10 catches, 92 yards and 0 TDs!!!!!!!!
Unlike Peter King, here an expample of how a good writer, writes…..
He’s always assigned to the opponents’ top receiver, meaning he already has faced three of the best – Andre Johnson, Randy Moss and Marques Colston. Their combined numbers: 10 catches, 92 yards and no touchdowns. No more than four of those receptions came directly against Revis.
This team is LOADED with good character guys. 17 got a ticket once and threw a punch at someone. Wow! Maybe I don’t see the connection, but I certainly don’t see him being the guy who didn’t go to practice when he felt like hangin’ out, beating his wife or carrying a gun into a club…ala the Giants Plaxico Burress. Give it up King! You are a weak writer with a good contract. Talk about your underachievers….look in a mirror. The only thing consistant about you is that you dissapoint SI readers and NBC viewers every week. BTW PK Reese didn’t build that team. Give the credit where credit is due…Ernie Accorsi did. Reese added the curtains after Ernie built the house.
Hey, your Foley link is wrong, it links to the Jenkins story…
I remember rooting hard for that kid in 96, 97, 98.. He provided such a spark off the bench that Parcells gave him the starting job in 98… Although he got hurt and Vinny T got the job done, i always liked his moxie…
thanks guys!
the “are you serious” thread. Yes the Jets do believe that talent wins games, and any team that doesn’t believe that continues to lose. You think cleveland is going to win they keep trading away their talent.
You think the Giants are so high and mighty, they took on Plaxico knowing his history. But they knew his talent was worth it.
Jenkins article was a good read. God I love that man…i wish he could play forever.

Reese has put together a good roster but come on. EVERYONE knows he grossly overpaid for Manning.
Funny how this writer cites King’s accolades for the Giants’ WRs but fails to mention a certain Plaxico Burress who happens to be in prison right now. I guess Toni Monkovic’s idea of character is at odds with the judicial systems’.
Superbad???? Really??
