Their Last Meeting: The Jets had the Dolphins as their “bookends” on last season’s schedule and as you might recall Brett Favre and Co. were in disarray and Chad Pennington who had been released months earlier by New York would get his retribution against his former teammates.

Although the Jets had their ends handed to them last week in New Orleans after flying high for three perfect games we shouldn’t have been too surprised after all we knew that eventually Sanchez’s ”rookieness” would get the better of him but with that in the past the Jets have set their sights on the Dolphins who put New York to shame in their final game of the season as well as ending the Brett Favre/Eric Mangini era. The additions of Calvin Pace and Braylon Edwards have upgraded both the offense and defense however injuries and poor playing have been a concern for New York as of late.
The major factor here is if the Jets can stop the Wildcat and if they can do that they can have Darrelle Revis, Dwight Lowery and Drew Coleman, Bart Scott and David Harris take care of the rest. The Jets will look to rebound under the lights and in front of the cameras and what better way than to do it nationally? Gear up for another good game brought to you by NYJ & MD.

I am not worried about the wildcat formation. I am waiting to see if Sanchez can rebound from an ugly game and step up. The team can play great but, as Brett Favre showed us, at the end of last season, if the QB crumbles… That being said, I can’t wait to see how much better our defense plays, with Calvin Pace. I would be shocked, if they didn’t put a hurting on the Fish and dominate the game. Go Jets!!!!

Sanchez looks real jittery in the pocket and is making some off target throws. Out in front to Edwards and behind Keller, though I’m not sure if Keller ran the wrong route or not.

LOVE what i saw in the first half looked shaky at first then locked it down. Time for adjustments usually from what i saw in previous games the jets made great adjustments lets see if they can keep the streak rolling and take the ball down field here and punching one in

The Jets run blocking has been okay so far, but the pass blocking has been very solid. Sanchez is taking way too long to make his reads.
Oh, and the Jets defense still doesn’t have a sack so far this game. This is what I was talking about a few weeks ago when we had the Titans. The Jets defense is very solid, but seems a) incapable of sacking the quarterback and b) very streaky against the run, and c) not very oppurtunistic regarding turnovers.
Good defenses get the quarterback, stop the run, and force turnovers.

I suppose you all agree at this point, but this goes back to what I’ve been saying since the Tennessee game.
The Jets defense can’t stop the run, can’t sack the quarterback, and can’t force turnovers. You can say what you want about the wildcat, but the Jets defense flat out didn’t perform. Pace played like Gholston, Scott was a non-factor, Revis got burned (and by Ginn no less), and Harris was irrelevant.
Of course to me the story of the game comes down to this: the Dolphins’ o-line man-handled the Jets’ d-line.
It will be interesting to see how Ryan responds.

We should’ve axed Shonn Greene being drafted and taken corners who don’t get dehydrated and miss a month afterwards.

Ive been a Jets Fan my whole life and have seen pretty much every game and I can honestly say this was the MOST frustrating game Ive ever watched. I think thats the best way to put it. Utter frustration, ive never as a fan wanted to go on the field and see if I could make a stop more in my life! Im not gonna go nuts and say “the seasons over” “Jets Suck” blah blah blah like some people on here ar, because were still in first place and the offense took a step forward this week, the running game finally got going and braylon Edwards looks like a difference maker, but its kind of a “same old jets” feeling when the defense carries the team and looks great all season, thank the one time you get in a shootout and the offense does their job they cant make a stop. Its clear though the the wild-cat we saw tonight was not the same wild-cat the dolphins have been running all year. they clearly added tons to the wild-cat in preparation for this game. it was like when they first used it against the Pats last year and blew them out. it was like the Jets had never seen this version of the Wild-cat EVER B4. They played it too perfection tonight, there O-line was AMAZING and Ronnie and Rickey looked more explosive then ever 5-6 yards on every play and it was NEVER slowed down. I cant blame Miami for using it because clearly it works for them but id much rather watch a traditional football game, but like I said Miami clearly knows how to run it and how to run it well so more power too them. Im not calling it a season like some of you clowns but this is certanly one of the more disappointing Jets games ive watched in a looong time

If we lose to Buffalo, then it’s time to start panicking, but this is just a really excruciating loss against an overachieving Miami team. Our D sucked the big one but it’s their first bad performance this year. They are better than this and hopefully a loss of this type lights a fire the way last week did for the O.
The offense performed well and now we have another week for Sanchez and Edwards to get to know each other.
Despite my attempts to stay positive…I do feel like we just lost to Navy.

Not to Mention we play the Phins again in a couple weeks at HOME — THAT will be the TRUE TEST of whether Rex Ryan is for real — he now has PLENTY of tape to study to prepare for the next game against Miami. If they manage to beat Miami at HOME, and Win against the Bills and a crappy Raiders team, then this game will be a [relatively] dim memory — and may also be a useful [yet painful] pill to swallow to slap some perspective on the Defense and their coaching staff, providing some incentive for these guys to make up for this POOR showing… -

I’m still excited to see Sanchez bounce back..Braylon to make a huge impact, and the return of the running game…Those things bode well for the rest of the season.
At least we can’t blame this one on a “rookie” quarterback making mistakes. The Jets got beat.
They now have to go out next week and beat Buffalo or all hell breaks loose!!! They used up their “credits” from the 3-0 start.

RJ – less missed tackles than just getting our butts pushed back by better blocking and push…call it what it was…on quite a few plays we made really nice tackles, although they were after the F’n Fins were 5 yards plus down field

This team is solid; one bad D game does not a bad team make…it will all come together, first year in the new D, first year for the new QB – I’m quite content w/ 3 and 2 on our way probably to about 6-2 or at worst, 5-3 at our bye

This game was Miami’s season. If they had loss, they’d be 1-4, 3 games behind, really 3 1/2, in the division and facing the prospect of facing the Jets again in two weeks on the road and falling completely out of it before the midway point. They needed this one and put forth more effort than the Jets tonight.

i agree with all you guys we got to look pass this game and focus on the bills but it was alot of good things i learned from the offense especially those two 4th qt td’s……i think sanchez is going to get a chance to throw the ball down field with a freak like edwards on our side.

Every team cant do what the Dolphins did to us. Simple reason, Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams arent on every team. Our defense is built on blitzing and the way you stop it is balance out the formation with two TE’s. By doing that you dont allow us to overload one side and wreak havoc. But you made a great point by saying we got beat by a one trick pony. Couldnt be more trueThe season is so far from over it ridiculous. Like I said before, this is the only team that can do this to us. However, plain and simple its gut check time. Its more important how they play AFTER a loss like this, if this happens next week against Buffalo, then we should worry. Everyone has the right to be PISSED AS ALL HELL. But dont jump off the bandwagon just yet, we have to put a hurting on the Bills plain and simple

I thought the addition of Pace was the missing link on defense. Instead, the defense played it’s worst game since last year’s Denver game. And, Chad Henne beats us? After controlling Schaub, Brady and Brees, Chad Henne kills us? WTF?!?
Buffalo and the Raiders coming up and this game film just gave Dick Jauron hope. Think we’ll see Jackson and Lynch in the Bills version of the Wild Bison? Next week is an early must win because a loss to the Fins on MNF is understandable, a loss to the Bills would be catastrophic.

KD BART…you right on ,miami season was on the line in this game remember the pats went 11-5 and still didn’t make the playoffs if they would of lose they would of been positioning themseives in the draft at the end of the season.

I love how everyonethinkns people are now just going to run the wildcat. You dont just say wer are going to run it and do it. You have to practice it and perfect it which the phins have done. Noone is going to take this game filmand attack the jets with strictly wildcat. What a joke some of you fans are. No heart. Ive been around a long time too but this is not something to blow your stack over. If it happens next week then u have a case.

i agree with you 100% but i think this lost was hard to swallow because we had the lead going down the stretch and our defense stunk the place up and to make matters worse it was the dolphins a division rival that most ppl hate as much as the pats.

This game was lost in the trenches…Our offensive line was slow to open holes.Tthank god LEON has a first quick step and gets through the whole quickly….Our defense can’t believe i have to say this was “NOT PHYSICAL” enough to outplay Miami’s O line.Mistackling and not getting off blocks killed this defense all night long…It looked like the JETS D wanted no part of Ronnie Brown or Ricky Williams tonight…Even Revis was off his game tonight getting juked by Brown and giving up the long ball to Ginn who other than tonight has been a non factor this season…I still cant understand with all the playmakers we have on this defense why we cant stop the run on a consistent basis…Disappointing lose tonight….NOT THE END OF THE WORLD JET FANS…This offensive passing game is coming alive finally and believe it or not we may have to act like New Orlean pass first to open up our running game…Ya’ll need to stayed tuned this season is far from over..We are in first place and I’d rather get our loses over early in the year than later…REX needs to get this defense recommitted to stopping the run,making tackles on first contact,and playing 60 minutes of defense like he had in BALTIMORE…The team is playing soft and soft teams LOSE BIG GAMES….The kicker is if REX dont right this defenisive ship we may be cheering on our offense to be winning games for us all season long…

@ Sleeps, I guess you didn’t watch the NE Denver game. Denver showed off their wildcat game (the wild horses). This is a copy cat league, if one tream has lots of success doing something, it’s not long after that other teams start doing the same thing. And Denver was successful with it… not as much as Miami, but they still had success using it.

Oh, and why did McDaniels decide to use a lot of that formation? Cause it worked against the pats before when he was their offensive coordinator.

ok and we dont play denver anytime soon last time i looked. We use it too does it mean we use it well? Not really. Noone is better than the fins at it norr will they be. Smarten up noone will just install this type of offense over night.
