Aside from your eloquent way of telling some one to go fork-off, what would you say to your fighter that was ill prepared by you but nonetheless fought a great fight but was knocked out in the last minute of the last round? Would you tell the world that he embarrassed you?

I was excited by Mangini that first year. I defended him and said that he had earned one more chance at coaching. But, bottom line, the guy couldn’t deliver. Still, even though I had doubts, I kept faith with the guy.

If you’re gonna bail on this coach after a 3-2 start and some very promising play, then you’re a faithless jerk and good riddance to you. This coach and this team don’t owe you a damn thing except their best effort.

I watched Namath play Unitas in person. So what? Do these players and this coach owe me more becuase I was a fan in 1969? Bull!

I’ve still got excitement and enthusiasm after forty years. If you don’t, anymore, go to the website of your new team and write some upbeat, hopeful trash for your new friends. I don’t need or want your epitaph. I’m a Jet fan, first, last and always. If you’re not, don’t waste my time.

Different strokes for different folks. People have their own notions of how a coach should speak, behave, react, etc. If you’re a fan of the way Mangini operated, Rex Ryan will likely irritate you and vice versa. If you loved Tony Dungy’s approach, you probably weren’t a fan of Mike Ditka’s. They both won Superbowls. Personally, I’m not too hung up on style. I can appreciate different methods if they lead to wins. After 40 plus years of my dysfunctional relationship with this team I just want results. Five games is way too small a sample to determine if Rex Ryan’s coaching stye is going to be successful. I’m encouraged enough by what I’ve seen so far, in spite of some rookie HC growing pains, to give him the benefit of the doubt. Curious to see how he prepares and gets the team to respond vs. Buffalo.

You have to take everything that is said within context of what was said referencing the moment.

I can not believe Parcells woul.ve said tht after his team just lost A HARD FOUGHT GAME by four points in the last -06 seconds. That moment, It just doesn’t merit that arrogance, sorry !!!

I think, if he can’t at least congratulate the winner or say something diplomatic, you should just , like Big Jenk said, keep your mouth shut and wait ’till you’re NOT PO’d.

When Bill Parcells lost a game as Jets’ coach, he reported to the media that he was physically ill and yes, embarassed. Are the rules different for proven winners and for rookie head coaches? If it was Mangini, he would have talked about “consistency in all three phases.” That made ME sick.

Like you implied, embarrassed after his team was leading and only lost a HARD fought game in the last .06 seconds? C’mon, at least give some credit to thewiner. You have to admit he WAS classless.

No, hank, fonzie and mike are not the same person.

We do check for that and discourage it, so we’d prefer if anyone posting under multiple names (yes, I know who you are) would stop.

As for quitting the jets after they lost inside the last ten seconds to the defending division champs on the road in a year when many experts felt they’d finish last, that’s a pretty bizarre straw to break the camel’s back after some of the crap I’ve seen just since the mid eighties…I’m sure if you wanted to quit you’d just quit whereas if you wanted attention you’d announce it on a blog.
