Aka Drew and others:

The other difference between Woodhead and Welker is that Welker is the best slot WR in the NFL and has been for the past three years while Woodhead is a RB. It is crazy to think that Woodhead could even approach Welker's skill or achievement in less than a couple of full seasons.

Here is a quote from Rex Ryan:
"He could be a slot receiver," said Ryan. "Sometimes you stumble into it, but he did a great job of being Wes Welker (Patriots) when we were preparing for New England." ...

i think they are serious about getting him looks at receiver. rex stated so at his presser today.

it is obvious he likes the kid, but with TJ, LW and Greene ahead of him at RB, he has virtually no chance to see the field.

with injuries to JC and Brad Smith, receivers are obviosuly really thin. why not give him a shot? height is a non-issue

so bassett ur saying that wes welker is a hard target to hit cause he is 5'8 also yet he has the most receptions or top five in receptions the last two yrs i think making danny a reciever is a great idea and it should work out for us in the near future if he is still with the team

i guess though, if he is working as a receiver to emulate roscoe parrish, why even bother to change his number ... it's changed on the Jets website too.

i get the sense that maybe with jerricho getting injured and that they need some more receivers than runner right now, it's more telling than just a one week thing.

ITs just math.

Cotch and Smith did not practice.

Edwards and Clown are with the main team today with probably Wright in the slot.

So Henry plays Owens on the scout team, someone needs to play Evans, may as well be Woodhead since he resemble from a size perspective.

Do not read anything into this except they are short (no pun) of recievers right now.

Yeah this is a good move. Cotch will def. be out two games, thats how those hammy injuries are and we shouldnt even need him for the next two games. Adding this kid, who has a chance to be special, it's a low risk move. Let him line up a few times and lets see what happens. This could be another gem a-la Wayne Chrebet.

What happened to Jamaal Westerman?
