News: Goodell Chides Deion

by Bassett on October 15th, 2009 at 11:19 am

Roger Goodell gave Deion Sanders, who touched off the tampering charge the Niners made on the Jets a shot across the bow.

“Some of the things that Deion is involved with are very positive things because they are working in the best interest of our players and making sure our players are better prepared to make decisions and make good decisions as they develop in their careers.

“I support Deion in doing that. He has actually been helpful to me in giving me feedback from time to time about issues that we have to face as a league as it relates to the players. But he does have a job with the NFL Network and he has to be careful of any conflict of interests. That has been made clear to Deion and it is something that he is going to have to manage. Particularly as his interests take him further down that road potentially.”

The Jets aren’t out of the woods yet, but Goodell seems to indicate that Deion might be more in trouble than the Jets are.

Roger Goodell why weren’t you this concern about the Patriots cheating to win the super bowls that they won remember spy cam. Please!!!!! give me a break anyone with a brain could have told you that the 49ers was the one to state that Crabtree was going to be traded if he did not show up for camp or play in any of his games this season basic negotiations 101. Next, I clearly recall a Elisha Nelson “Eli” Manning(born January 3, 1981) is a quarterback for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He is the younger brother of Peyton Manning who played football at the University of Tennessee and Cooper Manning and the son of Archie Manning and Olivia Manning. He played college football at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) after attending prep school at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. He was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers, but immediately traded to the New York Giants, who traded 4th overall pick Philip Rivers.I did not hear about any tampering charges or inside trading information with Archie Manning with Ely refuse to go to the Chargers in San Diego after they drafted him their number one draft pick in and that was clearly his father doing stating that if the chargers selected him as their first round pick then he would sit out because he would never play in san deago for those loosing chargers. I did not hear a peep from Mr. Goodell or his office. Mr. Deion Saunders did not do anything wrong he just he stated what was the obvious and he has help several young players and the nfl should be thankful that they have an ex nfl player that is interested in the life of the player other than himself giving back not because he has to but because he really cares. I feel as a fan and a viewer that it is so one sided that it turns me off watching the NFL Network all together. And you’ll do not need more fans not supporting the nfl all together but all it takes is the work of mouth I mean word of twitter, facebook, youtube, bloggers, ect to name a few and we will see if mr goodell deal with that matter well. All the fans are asking is everyone to treated fairly even Michael Vick who was clearly use as a scapegoat because he was not the first professional to do something drastic as dog fighting I guarantee that the mannings and other have or knows some one in LA who has or is doing dogfinghting it is all over the south and north but very prevalent in the south and 60 minutes, espn and bryant gumble did a segment on this and I did not hear an uproar in the nfl then. PLEASE No CHILD PLEASE NO more politics please and lets not pretend that Michael, ely or anyone else is the first to hold out from a team because they deserve or feel they deserve more money especially in the nfl with the non guarantee contract and the new rules of being 21 or two years of college to play in the nfl to make money for their family because most of these player come from humble beginning poverty I do not hear the same uproar about a baseball player or hockey player or soccer player or any other sports that allows these kids to make money for their family but I notice that football and basketball has these prohibits on them and you tell me what’s fair and decent and of good moral and characters……please.
