Because it’s always fun to poke Bills fans…

Bill Simmons is not exactly the writer that he once was — but once in a while he finds a gem from a reader. In his most recent picks column, Simmons gets a particularly well-written piece about the woebegone Buffalo Bills and their fans.

And if you’re trying to talk yourself into the Bills +9.5, first please read this e-mail from reader and Bills fan Marc Mannella:

“With all due respect to Ben Affleck: Every day, I turn on my computer, and click on ESPN.com. And I read it. I have my coffee, and a few laughs, and it’s great. But you know what the best part of my day is? For about 10 seconds, from when I open Internet Explorer to when ESPN.com loads, ’cause I think, maybe I’ll see a headline that they fired Dick Jauron. No goodbye. No see you later. No nothing. He just left. I don’t know much, but I know that.”

If you know any Bills fans — particularly any from upstate NY — it’s always fun to poke them and rile them up. There’s really no fans that can go from 0-to-160 like them in any direction. If you’re reading this… Colin, Derek, Rubin (and so many others)… this year is payback.

Oh, and if you’re interested in a couple other Bills slights (produced by Buffalo’s own award-winning radio station WGR550) then feel free to watch here and listen here.
