Link: Revis not letting T.O. breakout

by Corey Griffin on October 17th, 2009 at 11:06 am

He may be having an awful season (and RUINING my fantasy football team), but Terrell Owens still has ability (seriously). That said, Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis is determined not to let Owens revive his season this week.

“It’s about how he wants to come out and play,” said Jets cornerback and former Owens teammate Lito Sheppard. “T.O. can be arguably the best in the game or he could just be T.O. It’s all about what T.O. you’re getting that day.”

Revis admitted he could see some frustration from the Bills in his film study this week.

“We know it’s not the same Buffalo Bills that we played against last year,” Revis said. “They don’t look the same. You can see a little bit of frustration sometimes. I know the biggest one who’s frustrated is Terrell Owens. I guess he’s trying to find his way on that team to fit in.”

“We just need to make sure he doesn’t have a breakout game on us,” Revis said. “It’s basically that simple.”

Any hater of Owens is certainly basking in his absolute disappearance this season, and simultaneously expecting his meltdown on a daily basis. Personally, it’s got to be coming soon. You can just see it bubbling and it’s clear he wants out of a dismal Buffalo experiment. I wouldn’t be the least bit shocked if he and the honorable Drew Rosenhaus were the ones spreading the trade rumors that circulated last week. When Revis shuts him down this week, and he will, I would not be surprised if Owens starts to crack in the postgame.

I heard Leberfeld on NFL radio say that he thinks Gholston will be deactivated in favor of Westerman this week. If that happens, let’s hope that an uncapped year means that VG can be cut without a cap hit. Bent, do you know what would happen?

Why are you people so eager to cut Gholston?
He is actually good against the run, So what he isn’t getting Sacks no one is.
But I am curious what Tanny is going to be thinking if we barely get any Pass Rush Sunday.
Like in the Saints game we couldn’t capitalize off the Saints bad Pass D and we went and got Braylon Edwards.
    Shawne Merriman anyone?just a thought.

Are we the Yankees or the Jets…Stop going and buying a team..Sooner or later we need to learn to develope players and get the most our of them…Cant always be searching the Free Agent market to find developed veterans…The coaching and training staff need to earn the salary…

Ganggreen Really? Im tired of people comparing the Jets to the Yankees or Redskins saying they keep buying their talent, lets look at the starting roster on both sides of the ball. ALL of the following are home grown. Sanchez,Cotchery,DBrick,Mangold,Brandon Moore,Shaun Ellis,Bryan Thomas,David Harris,Revis, and Kerry Rhodes. 11 of the 22 starters on offense and defense were drafted by the Jets. Thats half the starting roster and that doesnt count all of the guys they have that are back ups

I agree. Both free-agency and the trading block are excellent methods of putting the final touch on an already good team. However, neither of these have ever been, nor will ever be, a substitute for the drafting and developing young talent.

Sack – no dice. The dead money bites in the next capped year.

Well if we want to get into that argument take a look at the Yankees.
