Link: Braylon Knows He’s Being Watched
One of the big questions Jets fans had when Braylon Edwards landed in Green and White was would Braylon lay low and focus on football? Would he get how big of a chance this is? Seems he got the message and is loving doing exactly what he’s doing now.
Edwards, in the final season of his original five-year deal, wisely has elected to focus on strictly football at the moment, choosing not to sample the Manhattan nightlife and the possible pitfalls that can accompany hanging out in the big city too much. He’s conscious of the eyeballs following him around and doesn’t want to ruin his chances to stay here long term, considering he’s elated with the situation he’s in.
Although he hasn’t even been here for two full weeks, he’s already quite sure this is where he wants to be.
“I definitely wouldn’t mind ending my career here as a Jet,” he said. “I wouldn’t mind being here for the next six or seven years. So the main thing is to keep it going like this, keep it rolling, man, and focus on the now and let the later happen later.”
A happy Braylon is a productive Braylon, so as long as he continues to put the work in, the results will come.

I just wouldn’t be so quick to give this guy a big contract after this season. I dont trust him off the field yet.
Tanny isnt giving anyone an extension until this cap situation is ironed out.
Braylon has all-world talent. If he can put it all together, the dude is a straight-up weapon. He can do everything, deep routes, intermediate, whatever. If he plays like he did against Miami, the Jets arent gonna have a choice but to keep him here for a long time
The jets are in good cap situation for next season and could be better if they cut Ellis, Jones and Faneca.
They are average players at this point in their career but getting paid like their in their prime.
I didnt mean cap room for next year, 2010 could be an uncapped year. And no way are Ellis and Faneca average players. You want to see average players, there will be alot of them on the line for Buffalo today. New England would sign Ellis the minute the Jets let him go and Faneca would be grabbed up in a heartbeat by basically anyone. Cutting those guys is not the answer…
you don’t cut Shaun Ellis he will end his career as a jet. He is a jet for life
