Various thoughts --

1) A Rex rookie mistake:
Rex locked on Sanchez right at the top at the draft/mini-camp, the same way that Sanchez locks onto receivers. KC in camp had the same chance Clowney had in yesterday's game. Slim --> None. Perhaps not wise for a brand, spanking, new freshman Head Coach just walking through the door to take over a long-time, snake-bitten franchise. Keeping all options open might be thought of as a good thing.

2) Bassett, Bent: Any chance of getting a clip of the play with the punches in it? I'd like to see for myself what Murrell was up to. I "know" I saw Digs throw a punch at the guy with no helmet. I'd like to see it again for my own process. It sure looked like Digs was the guilty one out there.

3) Anybody know if Rex has spent that final timeout yet today?

4) Someone please explain the concept of videotape to Rex. In camp, he repeatedly said on camera that the Jets would "ground and pound" to protect Sanchez. So everyone just planned on having 53 players in the box. Voila! No ground game. Then, he began to overuse the same blitz techniques, and again, teams had plenty of film on it. Voila! No pass rush. The rest of the league can, in fact, look at something the Jets do and game-plan against it. So, it's up to Rex et al. to adjust.

5) Rex is going to have to forego some of that HC paycheck if he's only going to be a DC. His one-dimensional approach to staffing the sidelines -- delegating everything that's not DC -- is allowing teams to adjust at will since no one on the Jets sidelines has responsibility for the Big Picture. It's one thing to give your coaches great latitude, and another to have almost no clue as to what they're doing. We've been thoroughly out-head-coached so far this year.

6) Rex still needs a bench coach.

7) Just what happened to Pace's Game in Vegas? And why did it stay in Vegas?

8) And, aside from The Punch(es), was Pace's penalty the most hurtful / painful of that sad, long conga-line of penalties?

9) Rexy seems to have misplaced his Sexy. Rex's stunned pressers are slowly starting to look like Herm's. Now's the time for Rex to show his leadership, and not look like any other coach who can't take a punch.

10) Ya think the rush to buy those PSLs slowed up any over the last three games, compared to the first three?

11) Good luck, Kris. Heal fast. And please stay around the locker room. This team needs you THIS year.

Schotty threw Sanchez under the bus in the Buffulo game. The offensive play calling is truly unimaginative and does not adapt to the ever changing "chess" game the other team is playing nor to your strenghts or anything else...Schotty should have not been retained and should be fired. If Sanchez survives this mentally I wil be very, very glad and also pleasantly surprised. He is an exporting rookie for god sakes! However, two very disturbing trends that will only result in mounting losses: 1) stupid/penalties (showing little if any dicipline), and 2) missing makeable tackles in the open field (apparently the defense can only tackle the QB that's if they even get to him).
Well, at least it lasted three games...no biggie. I predict 5-11. If any of you had any doubt: Jets will lose at Oakland!
At this point, Sanchez should start the rest of the season. Let him learn. Of course, if Schotty keeps calling the plays Sanchez will be scared for the rest of his football life and will be just a shadow of his promising potential. But what can I say that's our J-E-T-S!!!!

What I'm bummed about is not Sanchez. The kid's a rookie, and we knew he was going to have games like this (okay, maybe not QUITE like this).

What really gets me, and I go back to the Matt Robinson days, is the stupid exporting coaching decisions (Red flag for six exporting yards? REALLY, REX?), or the atrocious, incredibly exporting moronic play calling (which really has been going on for about 3 years now, and I'm looking at YOU, Schotty (Mr. "I should be a exporting head coach by now!")). The undisciplined play (If I see Ihedigbo make one more stupid exporting foul I'm going to punch HIM in the exporting head).

This, youngins, THIS is what we mean by SOJ. You can only take so many losses over the years to teams like Buffalo. I can remember soooo many. It gets really harder and harder after so many years. I totally understand the Ed(itors) pain from the Dolphin loss (which many of you excoriated (look it up) him for).

By all means, continue to support the team. I will also. I can't help myself. I've loved this team for so long, I can't stop now (sorry Otis). Just remember, sometimes, love is unrequited.

I agree that we should not get too down on the team right now. We have rookie coach and a rookie quarterback.

Just to throw some stats out there, through Peyton Manning's first 6 games, he had 6 TD's and 14 INT's!!! Now I'm not saying that Sanchez is Manning, but look where patience got the Colts. Give him some time. I want a championship, not another quarterback shuffle.

Guys...trust me, I get the frustration. We have all seen sooo many Jet games like we saw yesterday. BUT, let's all get a grip. Sanchez is a rookie. He's 22 years old. Since it seems necessary at this point, can we allow him to fail like Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning and many others have had to fail in year 1 without attempting to run him out of town? Good grief! Yeah...the annual losing fest is hard to deal with, but allow the kid to "fail forward" like so many has done before him. If not, we fans are just as responsible as anyone else for the culture of losing and being bad losers as the team we are imploring to win.

Bassett,

That had to be one the funniest exporting things I have read in a while. Between the article and some of the exporting posts, it changed the tone of exporting bad day.

That being said, The jets gave us three Exporting wins we didn't expect in August and three exporting losses we didn't expect 4 weeks ago. The up and down of jets fan.

He's a rookie. Honestly, did you think he was going to come right in and lead this team to the Super Bowl? Jeez, have some faith. He's 22 years old and is learning. There are very few exceptions. Mark will be fine.

I'm not going to defend B-Schott.....But I don't care how well your running the ball you cannot just keep running the ball and not pass. If you were watching the same game I was they were poorly thrown balls or Sanchez was locking into his WR....1yr-2yrs ago we wanted a QB that could go up top and wanted us to throw those balls from time to time. Well now they do it...And if you know anything its that if your running the ball and they are stacking the line you can go deep with ease. You have to throw more than 10 times if you want to win no matter how well your running the ball and even if your defense is lights out. Look at last years rookies they were throwing in the 15-25 attempts range. I feel snachez should have been pulled after his 4th interception....Put clemens in for the remainder of the game that is all then go with Sanchez in Oakland....I just want to send the kid a message....thats all he will be a good QB but you have to be accountable and you have to learn from your mistakes....I felt as though he just went back on the field and did the same things over everytime....that has nothing to do with play calling or defense. You can't lock on to a WR and you can't force throws that are there, throw the ball away! Also you cannot take a 14yard sack..
