ronnie - Yeah, both Digs and Murrell were fined by the league and will be left at home. I actually agree with this decision on both counts.

I would have left Jenkins at home for this game even if he was healthy because he was hopeless in the West Coast games last year, through no fault of his own - he just couldn't handle

In that respect, I don't think his absense will any difference to the outcome and I expect a closely fought game in which the difference will probably be whichever team makes the most mistakes. (Note: that doesn't mean the result will be close, because one team might make many more mistakes than the other).

Richard Seymour guaranteed the Raiders are going to the playoffs apparently...

Uh, Lito and Strickland? There were 'questionable' for three weeks. Lito finally played Sunday and now is hobbled again, and we still haven't seen Strickland. Seems like this team either has no idea how bad its guys are hurt or doesn't fully disclose it to the media.

Joe B -- what injuries have been treated like that? Cotchery hurt his hammy on a Thursday and on Friday Ryan said at his presser that he is unlikely to play Monday night. He wound up playing and tweaking it, and was immediately doubtful the rest of the week for the Bills game. I don't see how they ever downplayed the injury at all -- in fact, they may have been doing the opposite, because he did play in the first game when he was questionable. You may have told us so, but it's not true.

mike -- i don't think Cotchery is going to play. If he does, it won't be because he cannot but the staff is too weak to realize it.

Hate to say I told you so. The Jets are like the Mets, in that they pretend an injury is minor and a guy is day-to-day, then said guy is nowhere to be found for weeks and weeks. I don't expect Cotchery back until after the bye. Lovely.

greg,

Sanchez could use a tonic, yes. But not at the cost of J-Co.

He's one of those quiet warrior types. So you have to physically take the ball out of his hands if he's not ready.

J-Co will be determined to show up -- even if he can cost his team by not being ready to go. That's besides the chance of getting hurt even worse and losing him long-term.

Referring to the earlier SOJ thread, THIS is the type of spot where it comes into play. Weaker coaching staffs would simply applaud his guts while he runs out and risks wrecking his year. A savvy, tough, clear-minded coach would lock him in his locker before he's ready to actually help.

Idebigho and Murrell will be benched on sunday for their actions in their last game.
Actually, I thought Lito played a solid game on Sunday.

We should change our offense by taking more time off the clock to make our defense fresh, this makes the absence of Jenkins not so noticable
