Jets & Giants Find Fourth Cornerstone Sponsor

by Bassett on October 23rd, 2009 at 9:22 am

PepsiCo signed an agreement to become the fourth and final cornerstone partner for the new Meadowlands stadium, there were no details on the contract made available at the time of announcement.

MetLife, Verizon and Budweiser had previously signed contracts to be cornerstone partners. At present, the stadium is still lacking a naming rights sponsor, the largest and last of such sponsorships.

wow how many corporate stamps are gonna be on this giant billboard of a stadium. Coupled with other ads on the inside of the stadium like toyota and pc richards this stadium just just going to be a giant commercial. Real pleasant.

sorry to break it to you, but that’s sort of the reality of stadiums/ballparks/etc these days. might as well learn to ignore it now.

I’m going to be really pissed off if the name of the stadium ends up being anything related to a financial company. If it becomes AIG Park or Goldman Sacks Field there will be no way in hell I ever step foot in that stadium. Unfortunately, I feel it is inevetiable and it just seems to fit. PSL’s and bailouts, thank you Jets fans for supporting your local billionaries.

I think, with all the PSLs and other fees that go with the stadium, the naming rights sponsor should be a proctology group.

I thought that the Jet/Giant biz plan was to have just 5 sponsors and no additional interior signage. I hate the PC Richards whistle!

The NFL is all about the $$$, always has been, but now the fans are getting the guns in their ribs.

The PSL is a joke, anyone who is willing to help an owner to finance a stadium, and then be at their mercy when they raise the ticket prices is crazy (no offense to anyone).
With the internet you can buy tickets on Friday for the game on Sunday, do not have to buy preseason tickets, or prepay parking.
And when they have any chance to make the playoffs the team will suck you for cash that they will hold until next year! By the way if you for any reason cannot buy the tickets including playoffs you will lose your PSL $$. Sounds pretty much like a one sided deal. Just my opinion,
I had season tickets since 1966 and decided that the whole NJ trip coupled with the PSL nonsense is a joke. Like I said I can get tickets to any game that I want, and probably spend less money.
Wait until Jerry Jones gets his way, and there is no more salary cap, then we will watch the league turn into MLB. At that point we may be a perenial playoff team!
    Thanks for letting me rant.
