For what it’s worth, the performances today of Clowney and Shonn Greene (and also Dwight Lowery – a guy I know you like) underline the fact that this team does have some young talent and they do have some young depth at some positions. Rob Turner filled in well too.

The Jets may have given up a couple of late rounders to move up in the third round, but Greene showed today that he could be an impact player. It’s a shame Leon had to get hurt for it to happen, but the running game didn’t miss a beat and the Jets will now have flexibility at the position next season.

The depth at that position is poor, but overall they have plenty of young talent and it isn’t going to be that expensive to upgrade at that particular position.

Do you mean to say three UFA’s, two cast offs one of which fits the grandfather clause, and the third that has not shown any of his up side with live bulltes and the cupboard is not bare?

They are prepared for if there’s a cap, with decent flexibility.

I think this roster has more young talent than any I can remember. In my view, the cupboard is far from bare.

The biggest problem i foresee is if the owners vote to keep the CAP

What are the Jets going to do to keep their talent AND go after FA’s? Plus I think they have only four picks left for the ’10 draft. Tannenbaum loves to trade up, but I dont think he can afford it this draft, plus he will need the talent to replenish his core players, you know, like grow some of OUR OWN?

Would’nt the problem we have now in replacing our core players ( bare cupboard) e magnified next year?

its a must win today just because we lost 3 in a row and we have miami at home next week…not sure but i can see it being hard to run the wildcat away where crowd noise would def be a factor when a rb is lined up as a qb where it might be easier to beat miami next week and we can string 2 wins in a row and get back on track…but it all starts today

Don’t see how that would affect my comment above. There would be a drop-off just as big from Harris or Scott to anyone they could have drafted on day two.

You know I would have preferred more picks, but if they keep finding talent via undrafted free agents and other teams’ castoffs then it doesn’t matter as much.

I think they would also really struggle to replace either inside backer (knock on wood). If Revis is hurt, at least they can give his replacement safety support over the top (although that will reduce the playmaking potential of the safeties). If Harris or Scott is hurt, the downgrade to Izzo, Westerman or Fowler would be steep.
