Raiders averaged 3.3 ypc before this week, 6.9ypc vs. the Jenkins-less Jets.

In the first half, they rushed for 11ypc on First Down.

Cable should be fired for that gameplan, Jamarcus the fumble machine throwing on the first play of the game from his own ten with Jenkins out is a crime.

Jets would have won anyway, they were the better team, but the coach never gave them a chance.

We also run a scheme where d-lineman don’t come away with many sacks. Frank, you can’t seriously mean losing Ellis wouldn’t be a big loss. The guy is our most versatile D-lineman (can play any position on the line) and still makes plays, despite what the stats would have you think.

Ellis did have a 12 sack season without Abraham, but he has had a significant decrease in production. He had 7 sacks after 8 games last year, it would be nice to see him get a few, soon.

the game next week against miami is a playoff game already…if the the jets win i like them to mak the playoffs…if they lose they are in big trouble

if ellis is hurt its not that big of a loss considering the jets are the only team in the nfl in which the defensive line has 0 sacks which is pathetic…it seems ellis hasnt got to the qb since abraham was traded to atlanta

I’ve been arguing the “depth issue” for quite some time now. I have always believed that it is nearly impossible to judge offensive line depth. The majority of the backups never play unless there is an injury, and the only way to judge them is preseason, when they are going against other backups. I dont believe the Jets depth on the offensive line is anywhere near the issue it has been made out to be.

Yeah, Turner was great. I continue to have high hopes for him.

The run defense bent-but-didn’t-break, which I’d usually a pass defense philosophy, which I thought was interesting.

Another thing, everyone keeps wanting to say last rites over this team because of “lack of depth.” Jenkins was definitely missed, but when the Jets had to, they clogged the middle and stopped the running game. Also, everyone said the OL has no depth, anyone notice Robert Turner road grading after Moore left for a couple of series? And, Pitoitua finally got a deserved few plays and he had one of the hardest hits of the day. Leon and Jenkins are Pro Bowlers, but instead of Jets Nation all crying, we’re talking about Greene and how the Jets just dominated the Raiders, who only won the punting battle yesterday.

The Fins game is just HUGE. A win there would rival the Pats game as most satisfying win, so far, and would be a great way to enter the bye.

Did anyone notice the hit Michael Huff put on Shonne Green? It took SG a little while to recoup from that blast, and for a few minutes I wondered if he would, but he did, and I’m happy about it.
