Gamethread: Jets at Raiders 10.25.09

by Bent on October 25th, 2009 at 2:51 pm

Throwbax

Who: Jets at Raiders
When: 4:05 P.M. EST
Where: Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, Oakland, Ca
Their Last Meeting: Last season, the Raiders beat the Jets 16-13 in overtime (sound familiar?) in a frustratingly strange game. The Jets came out in a spread formation and moved the ball well on their first drive, but Brett Favre took several hits and the Jets had to settle for a field goal. A muffed punt by Leon Washington set up the Raiders only touchdown and only some heroics from Brad Smith (who had the best game of his career), Washington and Jay Feely helped send the game to overtime, as the Jets didn’t run the ball enough (sound familiar?). The Raiders got the win after a wide-open Chris Baker slipped over in field goal range in overtime and the Raiders responded with a 57-yard field goal.

It’s time to turn this baby around. Enough nervousness and skepticism, this Jets team has plenty of talent…unquestionably moreso than the Raiders. Although they’ve won a couple of games (13-10 over KC in the last minute and 13-9 over the Eagles), they still have an offensive line in flux and more potential than production at their skills positions and is the same team that was blown out by the Broncos, Texans and Giants.

If the Jets can get back to the formula that got them to 3-0 (ie aggressive defense coupled with mistake-free play from the QB position) and sprinkle in some of the running they showed against the Bills and Sanchez-Braylon chemistry they showed against the Dolphins, they will hopefully be able to head into their rematch with Miami with a winning record and some precious momentum.

Kris Jenkins is going to prove to be a a huge loss over the rest of the season, but out on the West Coast, it probably won’t make much difference, because he has been ineffective in such games due to the toll the long flight took on his back. If the Jets defense can play well without him, then Jets fans can start to be confident about the rest of the season. It’s their only trip out West this season, but the Jets still need your support from afar. Be sure to drop by the chat or leave your comments here.

  48. avatar KyleNumbers says:

    Is P2P4u reliable and safe?

  49. avatar Bent says:

Nam – look up. 1st link below the picture on top of this post.

  50. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Looked obvious to me — Leon broke his tibia in half. Let’s all hope the surgery allows him to return in 2010. At least he will be cheaper.

Time for Woodhead to go back to RB.

  51. avatar Benny says:

Any word on Washington? The injury looked bad.

  52. avatar Benny says:

Bent, I was unable to log in with the password, just me or are there problems?

  53. avatar john l says:

password not working either in Sanchez09 or sanchez09 or sanchez06

  54. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Ankles are tricky deals, When I was in college I sprained the crap out of it in a game, couldnt even walk off the field, thought I broke my entire foot, and in a few weeks I was all good. He aint coming back this game but it doesnt mean its season ending…
Jets are playing well right now

  55. avatar supercooljetfan says:

i hope it aint broken we need leon

  56. avatar Eirias says:

First the chat simply stalled when I tried to log in, now it says that I’m using an incorrect password Sanchez09.

  57. avatar JesusRevis says:

How many times did I say Sanchez shoudl start running. Great play call and TD.
If I had to guess I would say Leon is out for the season, what a horrible blow.

All you Kerry Rhodes haters, he just laid out TWO Raiders

  58. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    revis is insaneeeeeeeeeeeeee

  59. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Amazing pick by Revis

  60. avatar CMP says:

    What a catch, DR!!!

  61. avatar NamVetJet says:

Let’s keep running and dinking–forget the long pass for a while.

  62. avatar supercooljetfan says:

wtf is up with sanchez no accuracy all of a sudden

  63. avatar NamVetJet says:

And that is a Jets—-First Down

  64. avatar supercooljetfan says:

3 for 3 with fakes this year hahahahaha

  65. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Dude Holy S word… that couldnt have been on purpose, that is the only thing Weatherford is good at…hahahahaha im dying right now!!!

  66. avatar RJ says:

The password to the chat does not work.

  67. avatar John Kubie says:

Btw Russell and the Sanchize, this is a matchup of two putrid quarterbacks

  68. avatar EddieC says:

how did weatherford get that first down- was it a punt fake? or a mess up and run for your life play? ony watching gamecast on espn and cant see what is really going on

  69. avatar NamVetJet says:

    Was a fake

  70. avatar Bent says:

Password adjusted. Sorry about this confusion. E Weeks is at a wedding.

    Sanchez09 should now work.

  71. avatar ridinmywave says:

Can’t complain with a 14 point lead but this offense llooks terrible behind sanchez…………and them simplifying the playbook for his mental sake is not helping. This is definitely the battle of the two worst qb’s in the league, real ugly.

  72. avatar supercooljetfan says:

we are getting good pressure without jenkins just imagine if he was not injured

  73. avatar supercooljetfan says:

our offense better start going its embarassing

  74. avatar ridinmywave says:

Were getting good pressure but they are abusing us up the middle(pause) on the run, that’s where we are missing him badly

  75. avatar greg sec 130 says:

What do you think — is Woodhead going to be our new 3rd RB if Leon is done?

  76. avatar supercooljetfan says:

i think cause of all his ints he playing scared and over thinking his throws which is making him unaccurate

  77. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    miami beating the saints wow

  78. avatar supercooljetfan says:

we need this 3rd down conversion real bad

  79. avatar Steve says:

This always happens, every single time we need a good team to come in and take care of business against a division foe..they suck it up. Case in point..Miami beating New Orleans.

  80. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    niiice

  81. avatar CMP says:

    The Clown!

  82. avatar supercooljetfan says:

i guess jones aint done he just needs a couple games to get warmed up …since hes getting up there in age

  83. avatar supercooljetfan says:

does anyone know if miami is playing home against the saints???

  84. avatar CMP says:

and the injury parade goes on…Ellis??!?!

  85. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    phewwww

  86. avatar ridinmywave says:

Nice play, gotta love braylon for that

  87. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    dammm sanchez got smashed

  88. avatar RJinFla says:

    Yeah, Miami is home……

  89. avatar supercooljetfan says:

nice try cable you fat bully

  90. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    shonn is pretty friggin fast

  91. avatar RJinFla says:

I have no audio on my stream…..what did that idiot Cable just ask for a review for?

  92. avatar supercooljetfan says:

    saying the ball was uncatchable

  93. avatar ridinmywave says:

Whoa whoa whoa, is shonn greene really that fast!?…….that kid got some burst, I’m excited for next year already, lol

  94. avatar RJinFla says:

LOL at Cable……and yeah Greene is seriously fast!

  95. avatar CMP says:

well-deserved TD for greene there. this guy can run

  96. avatar RJinFla says:

    Hell yeah!!!

  97. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

For everybody who killed Tanny for trading all those picks for Greene, what you just saw is the reason why…speed when you have pads on means more than speed when you are running with b ball shorts and a tshirt

  98. avatar supercooljetfan says:

shonn looking good…they made it seem like he is only a north south runner with strength seems like he got speed too

  99. avatar Scouse Jet says:

This is what we needed, can we play Oakland every week?

  100. avatar supercooljetfan says:

uh oh here comes the backup who’s gonna kill us

  101. avatar alx says:

anyone have a good stream? im from mexico and cant find the game

  102. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Watching the fish, and NO just can’t move the ball. 3 and outs, INTs

  103. avatar RJinFla says:

I have one with no audio……

    http://www.zomse.com/1602.htm

  104. avatar alx says:

    okk let me check, thnks!

  105. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    scouse where are they playing??

  106. avatar RJinFla says:

    Miami

  107. avatar daleinct says:

    try :

    http://p2p4u.net/watch-live-sports.php?id=7228&link=3

I’m watching it right now…love greene

  108. avatar Scouse Jet says:

In MIA. They just got another TD 24-3, NO only moved the ball on one kick off return almost to the red zone.

  109. avatar alx says:

doesnt work RjinFla, its a shame.. ayway thnks

  110. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    about time keller

  111. avatar rusty sanchez says:

think im about to purchase a greene jersey

  112. avatar RevisNButthead says:

    Shonne Greene is impressive…hmmm

  113. avatar TheRealRK says:

Is it too early to profess my love for Shonne Greene and order his jersey?

  114. avatar JIm says:

Even though Thomas Jones had 210 rushing yards, he still stinks. Most of the Tom he gets a fingernail on him, and he falls down instantly. Now were seeing what Greene can do. Thank the lord.

  115. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rusty- was thinking the same thing about DK

If we would have stuck with the run and playaction last week, the results would have been similar, keeping gassing it up and embarrass the Raiders

  116. avatar alx says:

anyother stream? the las week i saw the game in nycityeye.com and works, but today they dont put the game online.. damn! that really sucks lol..

  117. avatar ridinmywave says:

    I’m impressed…….SHONN GREENE=POSITIVE YARDAGE(automatic)

  118. avatar AKA Jack says:

What have I been saying? Run the damn ball and safe dump off passes when needed.

This is not a difficult game.

  119. avatar RevisNButthead says:

Good first half. Offense, Defense, Special Teams. Looking very good on all three fronts.

  120. avatar daleinct says:

gotta give greene more carries..I’ve been waiting for this

  121. avatar rusty sanchez says:

i feel if sanchez gets in a little groove he keeps it going in the 2nd half…they should prob start throwing a tad bit more feel like they starting to get a little too predictable

  122. avatar rusty sanchez says:

just imagine if we had the 3 headed monster going instead of just 2

  123. avatar AKA....Drew says:

Wondering if B-Schott heads going to explode being handcuffed on the play calling??

You know that SOB is dying to call a play action post…..lol

Again….tell me why this wouldnt not have worked last week?

  124. avatar rusty sanchez says:

no fair we gotta play the saints in the superdome and miami gets to play them at home

  125. avatar AKA Jack says:

To predictable, Rusty? They have rushed for 145 yards and a 24 – 0 lead in the first half. Who cares if everyone in N. America knows what’s coming if they can’t stop it.

I’ll take that kind of predictable all day long.

  126. avatar rusty sanchez says:

its working your right hopefully it works for the rest of the game

  127. avatar rusty sanchez says:

but sanchez is looking a little more comfortable where a little playaction wouldnt hurt

  128. avatar Joe B. says:

If there’s one silver lining in Leon’s injury, it’s that we get more Shonn Greene. He looks like a serious player. Pretty much the perfect half except for the injuries. You don’t want to get too excited since it’s the Raiders, but I like the way they’ve bounced back from last week. Keep the foot on the pedal boys.

  129. avatar tyrone says:

afc east is the new beast

  130. avatar sec133 says:

Has anyone heard anything about Leon?

  131. avatar rusty sanchez says:

is it too late to put a dome on the new stadium…sanchez is a totally different qb when there is no harsh elements

  132. avatar AKA Jack says:

    Rusty-

As long as Sanchez’s passes come in the flow of the game instead of forcing them I am fine with him taking some shots. But this is the type of team we need to win consistently with.

Pound the ball, wear the defense down and control the clock. Let our defense do their thing and take chances when they are available. We are a year or two away from Sanchez being able to dominate games with his arm and when the weather gets real nasty in the Meadowlands, I want a team that can grind the opposition down.

This is what I have been waiting for since Ryan took over.

  133. avatar NamVetJet says:

Right on AKA Jack. If they keep this up they can have a 300+ rushing day.

  134. avatar alx says:

please a stream!! a little ansious lol

  135. avatar rusty sanchez says:

just looked to see about leon… no news out there yet… but you gotta alot of comments of non jet fans complaining about there fantasy team …bunch of douches

  136. avatar Joe B. says:

Might want to sign Justin Miller to return kicks if Leon is out for the year (it looked that bad).

  137. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    aka jack
thas why a said a little no forcing, and no 30+ yd throws if not necessary…should of been eased into those throws since the beginning of the season

  138. avatar RevisNButthead says:

In my franchise mode of Madden 2010 the past few days, Leon Washington was injured early in the season and Dwight Lowery was my return guy…This is getting creepy….

  139. avatar rusty sanchez says:

just sucks it happened during his contract season

  140. avatar Scouse Jet says:

You’ve got to love our special team play

  141. avatar CMP says:

they just showed the LJ injury again on CBS…sure looked like a broken leg or really bad knee to me…

  142. avatar CMP says:

    meant LW…sorry

  143. avatar RevisNButthead says:

On positive note, I moved Shonn Greene up in the depth chart, the Jets had a record season of running AND I fired Brian Schottenheimer at the end of the season. Hehe.

  144. avatar alx says:

now is working, thnks to the Ultra Surf application!!

  145. avatar rusty sanchez says:

how the hell that happened??plus he did the first down signal celebration they better put the hurtin on him

  146. avatar TheRealRK says:

OMG he said Paul Hackett…he said the name that shouldn’t be named. I see the darkness coming

  147. avatar ridinmywave says:

How can you miss that tackle!?…….Greene is beyond garbage, should have never brought him back, I don’t care who got injured.

  148. avatar rusty sanchez says:

ellis is a moron for not letting devito get up on his own

  149. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Calvin Pace is officially back and is far and away our best pass rusher

  150. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    they almost lost it

  151. avatar rusty sanchez says:

thas what the qb gets for over celebrating a 1st down when you down by 24

  152. avatar RevisNButthead says:

What just happened on the last play? Was that a turnover? Watching this with no sound >_<

  153. avatar ridinmywave says:

Rusty, sanchez is a totally different quarterback when he’s not asked to do anything, lol. He’s still off on his throws.

  154. avatar rusty sanchez says:

i dont understand why he was supposed to be accurate

  155. avatar rusty sanchez says:

hes very streaky seems like hell get a couple good throws in a row then go back to lookin like a rookie

  156. avatar rusty sanchez says:

see what i mean great catch by clowney

  157. avatar AKA Jack says:

    Clown!

  158. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Revis and Butthead,
Shonn Greene also progresses like a beast in Madden

Sanchez throws a dime, man if we dont force the ball downfield the kid has a million dollar arm

  159. avatar rusty sanchez says:

then next drive hell start bouncin them or overthrowin again

  160. avatar ridinmywave says:

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN……….THE CLOWN HAS ARRIVED!

  161. avatar RevisNButthead says:

And that’s you do things. You sell run, run, run, run run until they expect it then you throw a bomb.

  162. avatar rusty sanchez says:

like how wright is getting in the game too

  163. avatar TheRealRK says:

Great play by Clowney, but a guy with that kind of of last name probably should be a Raider. No bigger clowns in the NFL than Oakland

  164. avatar Brian says:

I wish the Jets could have done this to the Bills. I missed the last game due to not being in the area and had to follow the game on my phone. I just hope the Jets can improve as the season moves on and make the playoffs. If we miss them we could point to the Bills game. You can’t beat yourselves Jets. Just beat the crap out of these lousy teams. Also beat the good teams too.

  165. avatar Scouse Jet says:

How the heck did that all happen, I went out of the room with OAK 3rd and 5 on our 35 and come back with Feely kicking the extra point 3 minutes later?

    Help me someone.

  166. avatar furman77 says:

do u guys think if we move to LA with the nice weather, maybe we can win a superbowl with the sanchize?

  167. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    clowney and sanchez hooked up

  168. avatar furman77 says:

in not, woody if you reading this,we need to spend some of that psl money and get a roof over the new stadium

  169. avatar RevisNButthead says:

Hey Eddie, I’m on season two of Madden franchise. I’ve actually moved Shonn Greene to the primary back position. He does progress really well. They need to improve his speed in the game though. He’s definitely faster in real life.

  170. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Pace off the edge on 3rd down, not in coverage, its that simple

  171. avatar JIm says:

I wish the Jets were located in warm weather.. For Sanchez’s sake.

  172. avatar AKA Jack says:

    >>And that’s you do things. You sell run, run, run, run run until they expect it then you throw a bomb.

Exactly. I remember someone asking earlier this year why the Jets were running so much with not that much success. This is why.

BTW, for all the people dogging Pace, how you like him now?

  173. avatar TheRealRK says:

Wow you know you suck when you Punter is far and away your best player. Anyone know if he’s a free agent next year?

  174. avatar furman77 says:

can we get sean leckler next season?

  175. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Rev and B,
Yea hes like only an 82 speed so I changed it myself and made him an 85 and btw David Harris is like a 72 overall? WTF is that about

  176. avatar furman77 says:

maybe we can trade our first round for the punter if oakland,i mean he is definately a great weapon to have punt the ball especially in the cold wghen sanchez cant get it done

  177. avatar ridinmywave says:

I hope shonn gets 100 today

  178. avatar rusty sanchez says:

hopefully wright gets some more completions so he can takes smith spot and smith can strictly run the seminole in leons absence

  179. avatar rusty sanchez says:

clowney progress pretty decent in madden too i resigned him that first year to get him cheap

  180. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    R and Bhead,
Dude if you have NCAA 10 and do the draft class thing, trade T Jones for a late first rd or early 2nd rd pick and use your #1 and the pick to get T Cody from Bama cause Jenks plummets so fast

  181. avatar ridinmywave says:

I don’t think people realize how much of a beast Shonn is…….he is facing 8 in the box consistently

  182. avatar TheRealRK says:

We need to get out of here with no more injuries, this is getting ridiculous.

  183. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    too many injuries

  184. avatar rusty sanchez says:

wow great run plus with a backup lineman in

  185. avatar rusty sanchez says:

like the 3rd time jones almost fumbled the ball

  186. avatar furman77 says:

do we need to sign another running back?

  187. avatar RevisNButthead says:

They know it’s coming and yet they still can’t stop it. KEEP RUNNING THE BALL!! WOOOO

  188. avatar Brendan says:

Greene is a wrecking ball. Can’t wait to see more of him

  189. avatar ridinmywave says:

Eddie, you gotta update your roster online buddy, they have him at 87 now

  190. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rusty- ME TOO!!! 4 years 3.75 mil 800K bonus!!! HaHa I love it, great minds think a like

  191. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    eddie
try to draft rg peter boma he becomes a 98 within 3 years

  192. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Looking good in South Florida, NO back in it with a Brees leap over the pile from a foot in the last second of the second then a pick 6 (under review) in the first fewlaysof the third, could be 24-17

  193. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Wave,
I swear on my life I did it myself before I hooked up X box live and I had him at like an 87, I was just pissed at the lack of respect but yea Ive been slackin

  194. avatar WW85 says:

I feel awful for LW. Such a standup guy. This happens in his contract year. I pray his career not in jeopardy. He deserves better.

  195. avatar rusty sanchez says:

clean hit??? helmet 2 helmet i thought

  196. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rusty- what school is Boma from?

  197. avatar rusty sanchez says:

  198. avatar Green Lantern says:

    WTH

  199. avatar TheRealRK says:

Nice JaMarcus Russell imitation there Mark…geez

  200. avatar furman77 says:

sanchez stays fumbling, wtf is his problem?

  201. avatar RevisNButthead says:

How long was that FG? That post about Feely jinxed him…

  202. avatar furman77 says:

did someone activate the hand of stone card for sanchez?

  203. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    eddie
sorry hes a lg from ole miss and look out for a de from fresno state named bakari he becomes a 95 lucked out with them 2 in the same draft

  204. avatar Revisisbeast says:

We mite have a playoff shot if we beat the fins next week

  205. avatar CMP says:

wow, how’d he not pick that?!?

  206. avatar AKA Jack says:

I blame Bent for that miss. Damn jinx.

  207. avatar rusty sanchez says:

i rather feeley miss one today instead of a close one

  208. avatar furman77 says:

why cant we get to the qbs even tho we blitz like 7 dudes at the same time?

  209. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    lechler is sick

  210. avatar rusty sanchez says:

didnt shonn greene run good against the fins until he tweaked his ankle???

  211. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Good looks Rusty, def check it out

Makes me feel alot better to see the Saints comin back on the Phins, guess they made some adjustments at halftime

  212. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    eddie
i have ps3 so it might be different

  213. avatar rusty sanchez says:

nice throw but sanchez been taking a beating the last 10 mins or so

  214. avatar rusty sanchez says:

over 100 yds rookie of the week???

  215. avatar ridinmywave says:

SHONN FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!…….they had everybody in the box for christ sake!

  216. avatar Scouse Jet says:

100 yard game for Greene, well deserved.

  217. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

No its exactly the same, my brother has Ps3 and he told me its the same. Dude Im like 30 and I still love talking about this stuff

  218. avatar rusty sanchez says:

greene would of went in the 1st or early 2nd if he knew how to catch

  219. avatar AKA Jack says:

Two 100 yard rushers one week after a 200 yard rusher and a 99 yard rusher.

    RUN THE DAMN BALL.

  220. avatar RevisNButthead says:

I just love how he lowers his head. He wants to bruise the defenders, LOL. It makes me giggle on the inside.

  221. avatar AKA Jack says:

    I am approaching sexual arousal.

  222. avatar rusty sanchez says:

wow i think we found a replacement for tj and a rb of the future great balance and speed

  223. avatar NamVetJet says:

Team is totally following AKA’s game plan.

  224. avatar RevisNButthead says:

Hahhahaa, This is great. Just great. Wear that defense down and keep running it down their throat. I love how professional he was too. He isn’t even celebrating.

  225. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    aka jack
i guess predictable means nothing when you got shonn and you are playing the raiders….we all gotta vote for shonn this week for rookie of the week

  226. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    WOW.
Rookie of the week, no doubt.

Any other team had two ROW’s in one season?

  227. avatar Joe B. says:

SHONN FLIPPIN’ GREENE BABY. KID IS GONNA BE A PLAYER.

  228. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rusty it had to be that right? He wasnt really used as a reciever at Iowa, now it all makes sense!

    Hey Guys,
Where is Hank and the rest of the spin doctors? Oh yea, we are playing great football so they cant come on and start in with everyone

  229. avatar rusty sanchez says:

if you see shonns senior year stats its amazing he was there for us in the 3rd round we can thank the lions for that

  230. avatar rusty sanchez says:

plus he didnt have one fumble last year too

  231. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    eddie
i cant see any other reason 1800 yds and 20+ tds no fumbles and you last to the 3rd rd?? maybe he was playing at iowa instead of an sec team too

  232. avatar CMP says:

    a hot dog!!! classic!!!

  233. avatar rusty sanchez says:

if sanchez has another bad game the stupid media is gonna spin that hotdog thing

  234. avatar TheRealRK says:

nah, only if they lost this game would they beat him up. He he has a bad game next week, they aren’t going to say, “must be because he ate a hot dog the week before”

  235. avatar JetObsessed28 says:

you know it’s a good game when TV shows your QB eating a hot dog on the sideline! LOL

    Great game today.. very happy..
Shonn Greene, gotta love that kid.. I hope Leon isn’t hurt too bad though…

  236. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rusty-good point dude, its the whole “Big Ten guys are too slow for the NFL” stigma. Shonn Greene is fast with pads on baby

OH MY GOD!!! I cant even tell you how the reaction is going to be after the HOT DOG INCIDENT! Poor kid is never gonna live it down. Next time he throws a pick, Hank and Fonzie are going to blame it on the hot dog!!!

  237. avatar rusty sanchez says:

haaa i have a feeling this aint gonna be the last of the hotdog

  238. avatar david harris says:

leons ankle looked to break =(

thats worse than jenkins if hat what the injury is bc ppl go after rb’s legs and legs that have been broken are easier to break than before. leons career may be in jeopardy as well…

  239. avatar rusty sanchez says:

damm i really wanted the shutout

  240. avatar Matt says:

these injuries are getting ridiculous, what are we the Mets?

  241. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    3 point game in Miami

  242. avatar rusty sanchez says:

now scott what the hell is going on at the atlantic health center??way too many injuries…they are like the mets of football

  243. avatar rusty sanchez says:

miles austin is a beast no wonder dallas made it hard to get him…im pretty sure we targeted him in the offseason

  244. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rex-please pull all the starters, 38-7 is fine with me

  245. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rusty- you are all over it dude, we signed him to an offer sheet and Dallas matched it

  246. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Oh feck, 10 points again

  247. avatar tyrone says:

good game we are back and miami is 27/saints24

  248. avatar Joe B. says:

One more yard to get over 300 yards rushing for the second straight week. Hand it to #83! LOL!

  249. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Danny Woodhead sighting!!!!

Dierdorf and Gumble have no idea that he was originally and still really is a RB!!! F’in idiots man

  250. avatar NamVetJet says:

    Woodhead in the game

  251. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Nice job by Woodhead, tough little dude

  252. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Or we’ve got the best RB stable in the league, or our O-line can make any decent RB look like Barry Sanders.

  253. avatar jetfaninla says:

My source at NFL network just said Leon Washington is done for the season. I’m trying to find a online article on it.

  254. avatar Jadden says:

    Great bounce back win

  255. avatar Jadden says:

That could be the worst news ever if that happened

  256. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Great result to zip for us, and a 3 points game again in Miami, what game.

That’s the exact sort of game you want from a rookie QB. 9/15 143 a TD no INT and a rushing TD

  257. avatar jetfaninla says:

    He’s out:

    Adam_Schefter:
Bad news, Jets fans: Leon Washington has a fractured fibula — done for the year.

  258. avatar JesusRevis says:

More tidbits for the Tannenbum haters, he made serious efforts to sign Miles Austin, and trade up for Percy Harvin, can this guy judge talent or what?

  259. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Honestly, I feel worse for Leon personally than I do as losing him as a fan. Freakin contract year, man, Tanny better bring him back on good faith alone

  260. avatar Jadden says:

    Crap!!!!

  261. avatar Jadden says:

At least Shonn Greene looked good today

  262. avatar Joe B. says:

“Honestly, I feel worse for Leon personally than I do as losing him as a fan. Freakin contract year, man, Tanny better bring him back on good faith alone”

Agreed. They’d better do the right thing. They waited way too long to pay him and now he’s got a horribly serious injury. He still deserves his money.

  263. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Bad luck for Leon, no doubt we bring him back on the same contract as was on the table.

Miami 3 and out. They’re going to blow this game.

  264. avatar BoCash says:

We all need to lobby for Leon. He must come back.

  265. avatar tyrone says:

sometimes greed is bad i feel sorry for leon but to turn down 4mil a year in this economy is very selfish on him maybe other players learn but he wiil be back and the jets should look out for him but he will get2mill or less fire your greedy agent.

  266. avatar Paul says:

The Greene Monster kicked ass today!

  267. avatar rusty sanchez says:

i even thought the jets upped it to 5 mil a year but he was pretty stern on a 6 mil a year

  268. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Saints up by 3 with another diving TD by Brees from within the 1 yd line. Missed extra point.

  269. avatar TheRealRK says:

Leon broken Fibula surgery this week. Damn!

  270. avatar NJets says:

Today’s offensive game plan would of worked in 40 degree weather and swirling winds against an even worse opponent right?

    ok good… just checking.

  271. avatar jetfaninla says:

Whatever the deal was, I agree with some of you guys: he should have taken the offer. Is there really that much of a difference between 5 and 6 million? He gambled and it didn’t work out. He hasn’t looked great this season either. I hope he gets well quickly though and comes back strong next year.

  272. avatar SackDance99 says:

Carney misses a PAT?!? Damn, the Fins are so lucky

  273. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Well Rex wouldnt say hes out for the year, my dad broke his fibula he said 6 weeks in cast then 2 weeks rehab, at least thats what he said. If we can make a playoff push he could be back then. With Shonn Greene proving he can be a contibutor on off, specials is where we are hurt the most. DK and JCo have to step up as safety valves for Chez’…I guess more ground and pound

  274. avatar Scouse Jet says:

MIA 3 and out again, this is a 10 point game within the next 5 minutes.

  275. avatar SackDance99 says:

Leon, IMO, got awful advice from his agent. Letting him go into the season w/out a contract and bonus money was, IMO, malpractice.

  276. avatar daleinct says:

    man i hate miami…go saints

  277. avatar JesusRevis says:

I said ALL WEEK, let’s run the ball 50+ times and we CANT LOSE. Way to call a great game Shotty

  278. avatar Jadden says:

Anybody Know what happen to Bart Scott?

  279. avatar John Kubie says:

With any luck, it’ll be a trend among AFC East teams to suck the week after losing to the Saints.

  280. avatar Scouse Jet says:

20 yd FG Saints up by 6

  281. avatar rusty sanchez says:

according to post game live on sny leonm is staying in oakland to get surgery too serious to even come home to get it done…i hope its only season and not career ending

  282. avatar MEL31602 says:

    41-40 coming?

  283. avatar rusty sanchez says:

the only reason why leon should of took the offer is because he never got that many touches in a game and i think the jets never had it in their mind he was gonna be a primary back…thas the only reason why jones-drew gets 6 mil cause he is the jags primary back

  284. avatar Library Jedi says:

Hot diggity! What a win! This is one I will relish for a long time. Much easier to call plays when the other team is playing ketchup all day. Do you think when Mark overthrew Dustin he just had too much mustard on it?

  285. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Doesn’t look likely.

Illegal forward pass trying to stop the clock throwing the ball Out of bounds after the catch, now 4th and long with 2 dropsies on this drive already.

  286. avatar sec133 says:

Does anyone know the healing time for an injury like leons, considering he is having surgery?

  287. avatar rusty sanchez says:

the largest point dfferential away victory in jets history and the fact it happened on the west coast makes it sweeter….hopefully the jets get healthy this week and bring that swagger(sorry i had to say it) home and beat the ish out of the fins

  288. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Pick 6 with a flag on the play

  289. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Penalty declined 46- 34 point extra to follow…..nice

  290. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Sec 133,
If it just a broken fibula and no compound fracture or tendons and ligament damage, my dad did that too and it was 6 weeks in a case and 2 weeks rehab before he could go back to work. Now I dont know how that translate to a pro football player being able to play again, but its the best I could do

  291. avatar sec133 says:

    Saints win… awesome

  292. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Horrible, horrible throw by Heene

  293. avatar sec133 says:

Thanks a lot Eddie, I appreciate the help.

  294. avatar Scouse Jet says:

If that’s right Eddie and it’s 8 weeks, LW might be back for the play offs.

Pro sports always have better recovery rates because of their physical fitness and the amount of cash the teams spend on the highest medical technology

  295. avatar NamVetJet says:

According to the web it is about 4 to 6 weeks. But that is probably if you don’t intend to play football. I would imagine you can start rehabing at that time. I have no idea how long that will take.

  296. avatar SackDance99 says:

good, the fins go down. a win next week and they’re in our rearview mirror.

  297. avatar rusty sanchez says:

its already saying on the bottom of the screen on sny leon is out for the year and the fact he is getting the surgery done in california too it must be serious…hopefully no ligament damage or he wont be able to make those cuts…

  298. avatar Shamik says:

…And the Saints go marching onnnnnnn…..

  299. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Jesus Revis, Sackdance and Co,

You guys seen Hank and his son lately? I guess there was nothing to kill Tanny, Rex or Sanchez or tell us “kool aid” drinkers “I told ya so” about so they are sitting this one out.

  300. avatar rusty sanchez says:

    eddie
2nd question during mark sanchez’s pess conference was about that hotdog

  301. avatar Jadden says:

I hate the Saints. But it’s nice that they are taking down all the teams i can’t stand

  302. avatar Scouse Jet says:

22 unanswered 4th quarter points for NO!!

  303. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

We have to get an early jump on the Phins next weekend cause if they cant run the ball or have to pick up big chunks in the passing game we got em’… Oh yea and our defense was far and away the one that gave the Saints the most problems. We can really match up well and beat up finesse type offenses

  304. avatar rusty sanchez says:

clowney 4 rec. for 79 yds finally he is doing something in the regular season

  305. avatar AKA Jack says:

We have to run the ball on the Fish next week. Control the clock and keep the wildcat off the field.

We have the best running game in the league. Use it.

  306. avatar Joe B. says:

    Jadden -

Rex said “Dr. Bart” says he’s fine. LOL.

  307. avatar AKA Jack says:

And did you see the nice game Lowrey had?

Kids gonna be a player and I knew he would do well at home.

  308. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Game over 46-34 Saints
    2-4 Fish

  309. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Yea guys its compound fracture for Leon, no way hes back this year…Tanny should bring him back for what he did last year alone. Lets Lobby for Leon!!!!!

  310. avatar geoff says:

well, this is bittersweet. rally around jenkins and washington, sometimes adversity helps, …..

  311. avatar geoff says:

greene we shall see if hes up to the challenge i suppose.

  312. avatar rusty sanchez says:

feel bad for leon had a 4.5 mil offer 15 mil of it guarenteed…both ray lucas and adam schein are saying most likely hes not getting that now…should of never hired alvin keats

  313. avatar JP says:

I’m with the guys who think Leon (or his agent) mis-played their hand, as any potential leverage he may have had is gone. How do you turn down $5M/yr? Hope his agent gets fired.

  314. avatar firstdown77 says:

If Leon goes on the Injured Reserve, can he play in the playoffs or is his season terminated?

  315. avatar James in TN says:

Great game, bad loss of washington, but Greene looked awesome. I hope the fish are ready for another beating.

    Go Jets!!!

  316. avatar NamVetJet says:

FD77-His season is over–has to be serious break if they are doing the surgery on the left coast. You want that healed really well before playing football again.

  317. avatar Bent says:

FD – Regardless, the answer to your question is no. You can’t be re-activated for the playoffs.

  318. Where are all the Shotty haters today?? It’s real quiet!!

  319. avatar jose garcia says:

Im still a hater of Schotty. He needed to do this last week. and every week from now on. I want to see drws and reverses next week also. 65 percent of our plays should be runs to protect Sanchez and his youth. When Parcells was coaching us he would run a draw on 3rd and 15 and getting first downs. We should be doing the same. confusing the offense. i think we got to cockie on O. We are not there as a team yet. We lost a couple of players this year. With modern medicine I wuld not be surprised to see them back earlier!!!

  320. avatar James in TN says:

Schotty realized we had a running game, about time. Great game plan and execution of it. Almost makes up for the Buffalo fiasco.Almost

  321. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

It took schotty 23 games to figure out they should play to their strength, go Brian!
