News: No Action on Braylon Until After the Case Resolves?
The Post reports this morning that they believe that Braylon Edwards wouldn’t see punitive action from the league this season
The NFL is monitoring the case of Jets WR Braylon Edwards, an NFL spokesperson told The Post, though there doesn’t appear to be any chance of him being suspended this season, if at all.
Edwards on Monday was charged with misdemeanor assault in Cleveland Municipal Court for his alleged connection with an incident outside a downtown nightclub shortly before the Jets acquired him in a trade with the Browns.
The NFL spokesperson said that “under the PC (player conduct) policy when a player like Braylon with no prior history of conduct issues has been charged, we wait for a court resolution. Then we would review the facts for possible discipline.”
Well, I’m glad that it won’t affect the team this year, especially with the rash of injuries the team has seen. That still means that depending on whether he’s convicted or not, he could still be suspended at the start of the 2010 season.
How much time can he possibly be suspended for? its a misdemeanor charge, maybe it was instigated AND he’s a first timer. One game maybe next year? I can live with that.
What i cant live with is a dud of a game against miami. Their corners are both rookies, we need to abuse them.
Vinny, exactamundo- this all overblown media hype. I cant see him being out for more than a game, if that, and it is a huge if because its a misdemeanor.

This is kind of funny but at least something good came out of this. Rex implied he was going to punish Mark for what he did so this is probably what it was…..

We should have a good day passing against those rookie cb’s. With having Cotch and B. Smith back we’ll have our full compliment of wr’s, we just have to max protect for MS and give him time to find the open receiver. I can’t wait to even the score against the fish!
Im not worried I think we’ll draft Dez Byrant he should come cheap maybe 2nd round since he was suspended. Then we have to draft defense first round to give Rex more weapons.
oh yeah and Ginn was taken off first team offense!
