Film Room: Sensing Some Sarcasm

Some more soundbites from Izzo, Wright, Ellis, Feely and Scott (whom it would seem, gets a little snippy).

  1. I know people will kill Bart Scott for his comments but he is funny… he said they have a halacious offense. You cant make that crap up…..lol

The guy is frustrated. We dominated a crappy Bills offense and lost and now we somehow lose this game. I am not going to get on any of these guys on defense for running their mouths. For 7 of the 8 games we have played they have been pretty stout and gave us every chance to win

  2. except for the biggest drive of the game then they werent so stout ….. you cant make that up….. big players ,make big plays at big times………

whats scott won …. how come he can talk so much … he ’s goin to the superbowl ?

love how it works 2 ways ……. scott can say how great the jets are ….? soreloser…

  3. the people who never made it far in sports will hate on scott…but people who are competitive to the bone and will claw scrape and kill to win will appreciate the frustration and anger in him….all you morons who say what have the jets d done…or big players make big plays…our defense held the dolphins to 110 yards…our special teams loss this game single handly plain and simple

my philosophy is sore losers make better competitors….i will take an angry pissed off loser more then i would a loser that says well ya know we played tough but it just wasnt in the cards for us….

  4. psssttt! hey bart .. guess who won the division last year …… guess who they beat last game to get there ……….. and guess who mauled you in miami …… and found a way to make big plays and beat you again at home ………..

yep ….. so far .. nothings changed bart ……. ya could have made a game changer yourself yesterday .ya know …. bart ………. jason taylor did…

  5. i apologize for the moron comment it was uncalled for and untrue…just frustrated and just back from the gym

  6. John M, what’s up? All Scott did was compliment the Fins…”they’re a great team, they’re stacked across the board..” Classic! ;)

  7. whos all these angry pissed off winning sore losers , your made it far in sports philosphy lists ?

  8. just like his jets a great team stacked across the board…..

  9. I dont think anyone else in the league gives a hoot about the Jets-Fish now. Maybe in 2010 someone will care about us. Trying to distinguish between lousy & average is just painful. Do the fish really think they are anything more than average on a good day? The Jets have a better defense, but both these teams reek of mediocrity.

  10. yeah john the dolphins beat the jets 3 in a row. yes it stings to lose like that. sure bart scott sounds like a sore loser, but maybe there is something to be learned from what he is saying – there is no way in hell the dolphins are going to win the super bowl and almost no chance they will win the division again and probably won’t make the playoffs. it would be great to beat the dolphins every single time as we almost did for most of jason taylor’s miami career but i guess we gotta give you guys a couple of games now and then.

  11. i don’t blame Scott and the rest of the Jets players. they straight dominated that game, held the wildcat to like 6 yards, shut down Ronnie and Ricky and the rest of the offense. i understand completely what they feel, you lose the game that you were dominating by not even being on the field. 3 returns for touchdowns 21 points spotted when the defense wasn’t even on the field is tough to swallow.

and to Jon M…wasn’t Bart Scott on the team that blew Miami out in the first round of playoffs? i think he has a reason to be pissed off.

  12. I just love how a frustrated player says things and fans have a heart attack…

Everybody was loving swaggerlicious in September now everybody hates on the man. I will have nothing negative to say about anyone on this defense.

“For the most part” (for those who can’t read well) this defense have been pretty stout and has given us a chance to win 7 out of 8 games….. Let them talk.

  13. ranked 4th in points, ranked 2nd in yards. This defense is the truth, they have a right to be pissed off.

  14. I understand Bart’s sentiment, and I still love the guy, but I’d be a lot more sympathetic if they hadn’t given up that TD to make it 30-19. Just like if the special teams doesn’t have its head up its ass, we win, if the defense stops Miami there, we win. I love this D and I generally give them all the credit in the world, plus I realize they should get credit for only giving up 104 yards. But I’m sorry Bart, even after all three return TDs, you had the game in your hands and let it slip. No one is absolved from blame in this one. Just yet another unbelievable game that the Jets always seem to find a way to lose. We shouldn’t be surprised. Not being a pessimist, just a realist. It’s the same old story, same old Jets. Of course I’ll be back in two weeks to root them on, but if you can take this kind of punishment over and over and stay optimistic, I admire your resilience. This loss broke me. There are only so many times you can say ’shoulda, woulda, coulda’ before you just throw your hands up and say ‘didn’t.’

  15. really have no problem with his comments, if he had said them today I would of been a little upset, but this was right after the game, keep in mind how much the Jets D got killed for how they were unable to stop the wildcat, than this week they work their butts off to stop it and completely shut it down which they did, but still lost the game due to other circumstances and the first question he gets sets him up perfectly to speak out of just pure anger. Sure it sounds stupid from the outside, but if you try to imagine his mindset at the time most of us probably wuld of said the same thing.

  16. Hey Rex,
Same ‘ol Jets – making up ways to lose. It makes me sick to my stomach to think I drove all the way from Albany to watch that crap stink up the place. I’m not sure what’s worse; the Jets, the fact they still can’t stop yakking after they have been humiliated three times this season and twice at home, or the fact that I am dumb enough to keep hoping next week will be better.
    Dumb A– Jet fan

  17. not trying to apolagize for them at all sunday was inexcusable, but they have yet to be humiliated this season. What the Jets did to the Raiders was humiliating, the Jets have been in every game and have not been blown out yet. Even thr mighty Giants have been blown out, cant just throw that word around.

  18. if the fact that we haven’t been humiliated yet is a something to be happy about, then we are clearly 0.500 team by the end of the season.

  19. And there are different kinds of humiliation. Obviously getting blown out like the Raiders is humiliating, but I’d say running for 300+ yards and losing at home to the Bills is humiliating, as is losing at home to the Dolphins despite outgaining them nearly 4-to-1. The score doesn’t have to lopsided for a loss to be humiliating.

  20. Gotta agree with Joe B, the score may have been close but when you really dominate a division rival at home and still lose the game (TWICE!!) it is humiliating

  21. No one is talking about how Kerry Rhodes made one tackle during pre-game warmups (shoving Joey Porter) and then one tackle during the game. I think that is the definition of funny. I can’t believe no one in the media has brought that up.

  22. JETS have 2nd ranked defense and #1 rushing offense. EXACTLY WHAT REX WANTED TO DO. And we are 4-4. We beat Brady, Collins, Schaub. Lose to henne *2 and Fitzpatrick. We run for 300 yards and lose, we hold team to 104 yards and lose, we hold #1 offense in league to 10 pts and lose. Welcome to our world Rex – this is the life we have chosen. You come in an optimist and every December, or sometimes January you find yourself babbling incoherently about this kind of stuff.

  23. you know what kills us too is either sanchez plays horrible like against the saints and bills or he only shows up for a half…we left some points out on the field sunday when the jets offense would have the ball on the 40 which is pretty good spot to start your drives and get nothing out of it but 3 points in the 1st half

  24. What I find hilarious is how people are killing Bart Scott and Kerry Rhodes…

I dont care if Rhodes didnt make a tackle in the game… They held the offense to basically 10 points (a offense people said they couldnt stop) and have given this team a chance almost every week. Scott played well and made a huge sack late in the game… he was frustrated and made ( pretty funny comments ) that I think everyone of us probabyl agree with.

Rex and the defense have totally changed the way we play on that side of the ball. We are 4-4 get over it retarded fans…..

The only good part of a team struggling is it really shows how dumb and pathetic most fans are.

  25. Drew said it before, but you can’t bash a guy when we lose, but praise him when we win. I remember very few people complaining about his sound bytes in the summer.

The guy is a stud. Anyone who says he isn’t performing doesn’t understand the concept of our defense. Harris is the “Ray Lewis” of our defense, a.k.a. the playmaker. Scott takes on the lead blocker and funnels the RB towards Harris, who subsequently dismantles said RB.

And he’s saying what we’re all thinking. That team isn’t even going to make the playoffs, let alone win a Superbowl. I highly doubt the Jets do either, but in the long run I like where the Jets are headed more than the Phins.

Everyone just take a two week break, enjoy a stress-free weekend, and come back in 2 weeks ready to roll.

  26. JETS have 2nd ranked defense and #1 rushing offense. EXACTLY WHAT REX WANTED TO DO.

The Jets have excellent potential but need to find ways to WIN Not LOOSE!

  27. Yea but the #1 offense came off of a few games where we rushed for an insane amount of yds against horrible run defenses. Like HOU, BUF, and OAK.

As for bart scott, he hasnt lived up to the money. He was never a big play guy in Baltimore, doing Ray-Ray’s dirty work, but i thought when he came here he would elevate his game, casue some fumbles, pressures. But that has not happened. He has been a leader and a grinding it out kinda workhorse though. But he needs to shut the hell up ASAP. GO into the bye week with your tail between your legs and be quiet. Just be quiet. And its not true, NO ONE likes a sore loser. Its not sportsmanlike. This is sports not war. Be a man, hone up to your own shortcomings and mistakes. If your teammates let you down, support them and give the other team credit.

  28. AKA Drew….I don’t mind a guy being frustrated and saying things. But you know, when is it enough? He could have just said simply “I still think we’re the better team”, but instead he goes the sarcastic route, which only makes him look like a crybaby. They beat you. Twice! Just man up and take it out on Jacksonville.

I haven’t had any issue with all of the yapping, as it certainly is a nice change of pace from the gulag Mangini was running. But you know, sometimes you just have to shut the f*** up and take your medicine. Why do they feel like they have to respond to *everything* someone says about them? Is it supposed to be about respect?

You want respect? Go win some flippin’ games. Then you’ll have all the respect in the world.
