R in CT i heard a few fans mention going for 2 on the train back from the game as well.

In my opinion though, people are forgetting that if we didn't go for two and just kicked the extra point, the dolphins would have done the same thing.

IF the dolphins don't go for 2 with the lead in the 4th q(which they would not have done had we just kicked the extra point), then that gives them 31 points...meaning we still would have needed a TD to win.

Well from what we have seen so far of Sanchez he is definitely not Jamarcus Russell Or Ryan Leaf or Akili Smith or Browning Nagle. The question at this point is how he finishes the year out and how he plays in his 2nd year. Most of the great ones show the most improvement in their 2nd seasons as a pro although he may take a little longer since he had such a short college career. From what I have seen so far I believe he has everything needed to be great, he just needs the experience and take his lumps. I new going in we would have to go through this with a rookie QB but all the signs are there to suggest he will be very good for a long time.....ditto Rex Ryan but we have to be patient it is ONLY year one for both of them. Go Jets!!!

miketaliaferro, some1 put fear in the kid. This weekend he took a step forward when he took the big hit. Up till now he has been running away from any contact instead of being a man in the pocket. he needs to take some of those hits in there. all the good QBs do, and its how they do after that defines them. The verdict is still out for Sanchez but he treminds me of young Elway.

The way he responded to the fumble and kickoff returns...consistently marching the team back into the game..shows me this kid will be more than fine , he's gonna be special. You just get a sense about him that he wants to be great and that desire, physical tools and intelligence is not the makeup of losers...This kid is gonna be gooooddd!

He is, after all, a rookie.. A game or 2 aside, he hasn't been too bad..
He has his moments of greateness...
He has his moments of rediculousness...

For half the game yesterday, i was irate with him..
Then, he helps lead the offense right back into the game..

Overall, i like the kid.. I hope he's a great one..

Not to be a picker of nits but Sanchez threw 5 picks to the Bills. He was much more stingy with the Saints, they only got 3.

If he starts to play consistently the way he did in the 2nd half yesterday he will be a very good QB. I'd like to see him rollout more, he is very good throwing on the run.

R,

had to love the miami player who was pointing the other direction like there was a fumble recovery in the pile because jones didnt have the ball, as sanchez was spiking the ball in the endzone.

talk about being able to block out the crowd.

I've been blown away by how good his ball fakes are -- the bootleg for the TD yesterday fooled absolutely everyone on the field with the exception of the side judge, it was that good.

From what I've seen, I admit I was wrong for thinking they shouldn't have taken him. He seems to be generally learning from his mistakes, and can seem to move the ball downfield when needed. If the coach had simply kicked the extra points, or Hartsock hadn't shifted illegally, he would've driven them to a tying field goal, and I liked their chances in OT.

But that's what you want to see -- he's showing nice flashes that he's going to be a very good player. And making progress.
