This Week in Tweet: The Bye Week Edition
It’s been a while since we last wrote this segment on the Blog. This past week I met up with Bassett at the TJB Tweetup, and got to meet a ton of great Jets fans! I also got to finally meet Bent, the man the myth, the legend from across the pond.
Bassett had asked me to get this segment back up and running and I’m thrilled to do it. I’ve been busy hanging out on twitter talking with some great Jets fans and also working on a site called Jets Twit (http://www.jetstwit.com/), articles that feature the Jets players activity on social media.
I’ll stop my shameless plug and step off the soapbox, but I would love to hear your feedback on this segment and the content. Please feel free to comment in this story OR catch me on twitter, @e_man. ANY feedback is appreciated!
- Kerry Rhodes held his charity events earlier in the week. Many Jets players showed their support and were sending tweets during the event.
- Players were tweeting about their “vacation” and the plans they had for the bye week. Jay, Nick and Woody were touring the USS New York, while Kerry, Braylon, and David were flying out of the state.
- Bassett had a post about predictions on his blog, I threw out a similar question on Twitter. You can see the interaction between the Jets fans and their record predictions.
- What else do the players like to do on their BYE week, apparently EAT!

Not sure if anyone read this but here was what bart SCott said after cooling down his post game Miami comments that everyone was so pissy about.
Bart….. You were visibly upset after the Dolphins game, do you stand behind your comments or was it a heat of the moment thing?
Bart Scott:
It was a bit of both. Of course, I didn’t want to concede anything to them. I wanted to take a shot at them and let them know that I still thought we were the better team and that they got an early Christmas gift.
I dont see why people get so angry at Scotts comments. The Jets are the better team, and the Dolphins did get an early Christmas gift.

Yes, they are the better team. The better team doesnt always win. that is why there are upsets and fluke victories. Theres really nothing the Dolphins do better than the Jets, except for kick returns.
Sadly to say in American sports, the bottom line is always WINS!

They have lost to the Dolphins the last three times they played them. I don’t buy into all this talk about how good they are. Prove it. I could give a crap if the Jets are more talented. F stats. I’m so sick and tired of the excuses year in and year out, led by Rhodes. Bottom line..Win!
noone outside the ny media was making a big deal about jason taylor’s poo talking all those years when we beat them like 8 years in a row but all of sudden when bart scott said something everyone gets pissy…jason taylor been doin that samething his whole career even when the dolphins didnt want him (hahahaha)and he was a redskin

Most media guys never played sports at any kind of high level. They use Scott’s comments and twist his words to make it out to a bigger deal than it really is. It was really Francesca who made a Federal case about it……all Mike F’s BS is all personal, bc he hates Buddy Ryan bc Buddy Ryan would never defer to Bill Parcells. Now his precious little Dolphins got some smacked talked about them and Mike F starts a firestorm… By the way,now the Houston Texans are the best team in the AFC if you listened to his show, a team the Jets beat down. Its funny because he talks about how great a second half team Houston is but has the Jets left for dead with 8 games to go…
