On returning to practice…
It felt good to get back out there. Guys had a chance to get away, recover, look back over the last eight weeks, correct some of the mistakes we’ve made and get ready. Guys were full of energy today and excited to get back onto the field and are looking forward to playing this weekend.
On what the team can do to “click” again…
Take it one day at a time, focusing on one game at a time (and) not getting ahead of ourselves. A lot of the games that we lost are games that we easily could have won (with) a play here, a play there. A penalty or a mistake here or there kind of cost us the game. The good thing is that those are mistakes that we can correct when you take it one day at a time. Make sure that you always prepare well and be ready to play on Sunday.
On the bye week…
It’s good to have a bye week especially in the middle of the season. We got a chance to reflect on the first half of the season. Guys that are nicked up have a chance to get healthy. You come back for the next eight weeks and look forward to finishing strong.
I look at it as a time to rest, but I don’t like to rest too much. I don’t want to get off-kilter and I am still watching film. I left for a couple of days, but am still watching film, still working out. I look at it as a chance to get ahead. You get to rest, but you get a chance to get ahead. You watch film of your opponent, get a couple of extra days to watch film and get ready for them. (You) get a couple of days to work out some of the kinks, whether it is getting treatment, getting massages, seeing the chiropractor, trying to work out a little bit extra to get strength back. I look at it as an opportunity to get ahead and that is what I did pretty much the whole week.

TJ! Thanks for the gloves in Oakland! Stand up player. TJ made it a point to give his gloves out to some of the Jets fans out in Oakland a few weeks ago. It was a cool move.
Let’s hear one for the good guys.A true professional in every sense of the word.I for one always liked the dude since his U of Va days.Just look at his family and you can see where it comes from.I know there are more than a few here that are wanting his swan song after this seasons end but imho unless they can add another back in the later rounds with a comp pick for the Brett Farve flip floping his way to the Vikings with telling Mike. T to look for another signal caller at seasons end we can’t go wrong with him on the roster.Providing the comish and the league does the right thing in awarding a pick for #4.
SIGN Larry Johnson ASAP!!!!!!!!!! I don’t want to see New England sign him and then he runs through the Jets defense when they’re probably playing for first place in two weeks…The Jets can’t count on Greene and Woodhead to back up Jones…Also, Jones is older (even though he’s still very good) and will tire towards the end of the season…The Jets will need someone else to help carry the load and they can’t count on a rookie (Greene)…Larry Johnson is still under 30 and he’s still got a lot left in the tank…He just needs a change of scenery (like Edwards and Moss in New England)..Johnson was the best running back in the league just a couple of season’s ago (with all due respect to lt)…Having Johnson will also force Schotty to call more running plays and the Jets can become the smash-mouth team Ryan desperately craves!!! It’s a win-win situation…Do it already before Belichick does and Johnson runs the Patriots to another Superbowl!!!!!!!
