It sounds like Leon spent the day with his teammates on Monday, and was spotted by the press in Florham Park on a certain personal mobility vehicle.

The popular Washington, whose injury was so serious he had to have emergency surgery immediately following the game and stayed behind in the Bay Area for a couple of days, was using a motorized scooter-type vehicle to get around.

Washington hasn’t spoken publicly since the injury and he wasn’t available for comment yesterday.

“I’ve spoken to him since his injury and he’s in good spirits,” right tackle Damien Woody said. “Leon is a competitor. Knowing Leon, he’s going to rehab the hell out of this thing and he’s going to be back next year ready to go.”

Glad to hear that Leon is doing well, and that he’s back spending time with the team. No word on whether he was popping wheelies or has yet to pimp his ride with a rebuilt chainsaw engine.

  2. Good question! I’ll ask. I passed it to his fiancee and to the Jets PR staff.

  4. Is there a rule against Rascals in the NFL? Can he use one on kick returns. I don’t see the big deal.

  5. I’m all for a get well Leon campaign. In fact, if there were something fans could wear to show support – like a white headband or armband for him, that would be great!
