R in CT,
Your point is well taken about Rex and I think it is something that most fans have come to endear him to us. He's just like us fans: passionate and cocky about our football team. He wants to win in the worst way with emotions on the sleeve and the whole bit. While this is a 180 degree turn from the previous head coach, it has resulted in lack of discipline and truly turning the page on bad plays, bad games.
Buffalo loss after the Monday night Debacle against Miami is a case in point.
However I have faith like most fans here that with time, Rex will learn from his mistakes as a rookie head coach and instill that discipline and more even temperment over time when it is called for.

AKA...Drew

I know what you mean -- the prior coach wouldn't even allow the word "playoffs" to be bandied about until the end of the season, so it's refreshing to see a head coach acknowledge that a loss here would pretty much end any chance of making the post-season, and thus, the game is critical.

It seems as though Rex is a football fan as well as a coach, which is refreshing. I don't get the sense that Mangini enjoyed football like Rex does.

When I went to training camp, I was struck by how comfortable Rex is on the field with the players, how much you could see the favorite part of his world is just lining the guys up and banging heads. I don't get that sense from other head coaches -- I mean, does Belichick ever look like he enjoys the game at any point?

Greg?

They came out flat?

The ran for over 300 yards and Buffalo did nothing on offense. If not for a B-Schott/Sanchez meltdown we win that game easy

I wouldnt exactly call that coming out flat. My point on Rex was he could have sugar coated the importance of the game and it meaning towards the rest of the year.

AKA - Rex called the home game vs Buffalo a "must-win" and they came out flat. Rex is built this way -- he knows these games are huge and will say so. Just saying that it may not translate to the field if the players and fans don't get fired up.

I have an early Christmas gift besides having the final Jet game mean something for the playoffs

I want to log onto TJB and not see the name Vernon Gholston. He is a non-factor for our team and should be treated that way. Seeing Rex start off his press conference with his name just annoyed me.

He should be on the inactive list this week. plain and simple

I like the no nonsense approach Rex is taking towards this game. We all see it so why hide it. This game is huge. We need this game to have any real chance of catching the Pats.

Most coaches say its just one game and all the other BS. Fact is we lose this game we are in big trouble to have any playoff dreams.

I say we win this game fairly easy on Sunday. As long as Sanchez dosent pull a Buffalo/NO game and gives the defense points we win

The good news is, Vernon's hamstring is actually 100%. The bad news is fairly obvious.
