Oh Miles Austin…. You mean the guy that Mr T brought in and every jet fan (except a few) had a heart attack that our GM would consider giving up a 2nd round pick for a no-name WR?
This is why most fans are idiots and have no business critizing anything the Jets do….ever!
Alternatively, you could take the viewpoint that the Jets were crazy not to have offered a 2nd rounder, which – when coupled with a poison pill – would have secured his services. I would have been on board with such a move and wonder if Tannenbaum’s decision to balk at the asking price was impacted by the outcry from the fans.
I hope not, he should have courage of conviction to be a succesful GM…although you can hardly blame him for going in a different direction.
No one expected Miles Austin to blow up like this. But the fact that Tannenbaum even brought him in is an indication of his abilities to judge talent.
