In baseball, when you are trying to hit a home run, you take more risks and let fundamentals slip. When you're trying to force turnovers and score TD's on defense, then you start to take risks you wouldn't normally take and fundamentals take a back seat. In both cases, if the players just let it happen and don't press, then it will happen eventually and they won't give up big plays (or big strikout #'s) in the process. John,

Actually, I agree with Drew’s analogy. In baseball, when you are trying to hit a home run, you take more risks and let fundamentals slip. When you’re trying to force turnovers and score TD’s on defense, then you start to take risks you wouldn’t normally take and fundamentals take a back seat. In both cases, if the players just let it happen and don’t press, then it will happen eventually and they won’t give up big plays (or big strikout #’s) in the process.
