Gamethread: Jets vs. Jaguars 11.15.09

by Weeks on November 15th, 2009 at 12:00 pm

Dolphins Jets Football

Who: Jets vs. Jaguars
When: 1:00 P.M. EST
Where: Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Their Last Meeting: Yet another open wound that is still eating at me; on October the 8th of 2006 the Jaguars ended their two-game losing streak giving the Jets a thorough beating and leaving those Jets fans at Jacksonville Stadium and us watching at home thunderstruck after the 41-0 beating. Pennington had thrown 3 INT’s that day while Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew shredded the Jets defense for three touchdowns while Bryon Leftwich (yes, the one who is currently benched in Tampa) threw for two more touchdowns and oh yes, the Josh Scobee field goal in the forth put the icing on the cake.

The Jets have come a long way since they last met with the Jags back during the rookie season of Eric Mangini, they also are coming off a BYE week with some high octane energy and are eager to make some (positive) noise, returning strong. As Bassett previewed this is a game the Jets “should” win and as long as the Jets can shut down Jones-Drew and Sims-Walker the Jags will have to look at other sources for hope offensively which have been in short supply as of late. Furthermore the Jags defense has been sputtering like its counterpart and as long as the Jets don’t make stupid mistakes, I see no reason as to why this cannot be won.

Of course we can’t underestimate any opponent as we have learned the unexpected should be expected this season but hopefully this will be the beginning of a red hot start to the second half of the schedule (which will be all the more sweeter if the Jets can muster the win over the Patriots in a week). Ready yourselves for some pigskin and check in throughout the day.

No excuses today. At 4:15 we must be talking about a victory. I don’t care if there were 4 INT’s, 10 penalties, etc. Its a must win.

Offensive player of the game: Cotchery – 2 TD’s
Defensive player of the game: Harris – Sack and FF/FR

    Prediction: Jets win 20 – 10

  2. avatar E. Weeks says:

  6. avatar Brian says:

We better not lay another egg today.

  7. avatar J-E-T-S says:

if we can play without mistakes, we can win
if D, O, and special teams all play with all cylinders firing, we can win

  8. avatar james_d says:

    First play, first mistake.

    Great start

  9. avatar GREENBLOOD says:

Where is this arm the Kid came here with ??????

  10. avatar J-E-T-S says:

    ….you gotta be kidding me

  11. avatar wrex ryan says:

    This sux

  12. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    OH feck what a start

  13. avatar KyleNumbers says:

    Stream is needed!

  14. avatar Devon says:

Can we please put in Clemens next drive? Sanchez might be the future but he sure as hell ain’t the present.

  15. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Nightmarish start,
MJD is real good, gotta make some adjustments

  16. avatar J-Kay says:

Well, does everyone see why me and others didn’t want sanchez now?

  17. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

    ugh.

  18. avatar wrex ryan says:

WTF? They ran right through us!

  19. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Lets start again.

  20. avatar john m says:

musta been cuz all the fans werent in thier seats yet…..

  21. avatar Buddy says:

    Same
    Ol’
    Jets

  22. avatar ridinmywave says:

Someone explain to me why we are throwing deep bombs to cotchery?……..he is not winning that battle with mathis, braylon yes…..cotch NO…….wtf

  23. avatar Ny13 says:

Jkay… Shut your hole. That was PI all the way.

  24. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Sure once in a while the opposing D can stop a run for a short loss, BUT DON”T STOP RUNNING THE BALL!

  25. avatar Buddy says:

Jkay wants one of those qbs that never throws int’s.

he knew before the draft Sanchez wasnt one of those.

  26. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Our offense is going to have opportunities vs the Jags D all day, the D has to get turnovers, thats how we are going to win

  27. avatar john m says:

so sanchez threw a pick … did this 85′ bears like defense have to just get shredded..

  28. avatar greg sec 130 says:

J-Kay, he is a rookie. Talk to us next year.

  29. avatar Devon says:

Greg, he shouldn’t be starting. Clemens keeps getting screwed over.

  30. avatar jon in bk says:

Sanchez has shown he can make that first throw. there, he seemed to shortartm it. Rookie mistake. Tough to fault the playcall,. though, the bootleg makes the field smaller for sanchez and cotchery had mathis BURNED.

Then a great play call on 3&12, and Sanchez comes out hot w/ the screen pass. Again, rookie mistake. Ugh.

Hopefully Sanchez will continue to grow into next year and be the real deal. I don’t think you can say that he’s a bust if he doesn’t do it right now though.

  31. avatar wrex ryan says:

    Defense, Defense, Defense

  32. avatar david65 says:

that isnt sanchez’s fault. why would we throw a bomb to our # 2 receiver, on 1st and 10. we have the best running offense so we decide to bomb it. and to mathis too.

    Brian Schott has to go

  33. avatar J-E-T-S says:

Jets D sucks today, offense is mediocre
we will lose if we dont shape up

  34. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Who didn’t see a screen coming?

  35. avatar wrex ryan says:

The D didn’t see the screen coming

  36. avatar Scouse Jet says:

That my d back on the field

  37. avatar Devon says:

The crowd is very loud today. I’m impressed.

  38. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Harris missed MJD on the screen, didnt matter bc the Jags just missed a FG and WE GOT A SACK!!! Lol

  39. avatar James in TN says:

    Goalpost is our best defender!!!!

  40. avatar david65 says:

    gotta love Bart Scott though

  41. avatar James in TN says:

Scott sucks he got blocked like Gholston for the TD. Crazy game. I’m on my 4th beer dang it.

  42. avatar Devon says:

    Man, Cotch has great hands.

  43. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    J-Co is back!!!

  44. avatar john m says:

scott did get blown right out of the hole on the td run …..

  45. avatar Ny13 says:

Sanchez is clearly failing us huh jkay?

  46. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Not too bad for a rookie.

  47. avatar john m says:

good thing they benched sanchez after the pick …

  48. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Watching on NFL.com game center and haven’t got a clue what went on there. Can someone please explain from after Shonn’s 3 yard run please. Thanks

  49. avatar jon in bk says:

Big play on 3rd down. Run-pass-pass sequence for the score.

D needs a stop here, they’ve looked a litlte more vulnerable than usual.

  50. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Cotchery was clearly still hobbling in both Miami games. Having him look like the 2008 Cotchery gets me warm feelings of what will happen when they can’t ignore him and Bray gets one-on-one coverage at some point….

  51. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

MJD is a tough runner, got to admit.

  52. avatar BleedGreen says:

shoulda stuck wit tj but i’ll take the pass td

  53. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Sanchez knows he has tools to work with, he will make his rookie mistakes. Don’t forget the great throws he’s made this season. Comes out firing! He has IT.

  54. avatar greg sec 130 says:

At some point we’ll slow MJD down and Gerrard will be picked off when that happens

  55. avatar greg sec 130 says:

I agree burbank… the thing he does not have yet is experience reading defenses in the NFL and the ability to know when to make those throws, which comes with both instinct and experience (he has shown the instincts).

Can’t fault him for not having the experience yet, can you?

  56. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

The motion killed the blitz on that 3rd and 5, Dang it!!! Happens sometimes

  57. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

MJD is killing the Jets single handidly, this game isnt close without him

  58. avatar J-E-T-S says:

    agreed

  59. avatar J-Kay says:

Pathetic. Why can’t we hit the damn guy

  60. avatar Kyle says:

OK it is official, Kerry Rhodes sucks.

  61. avatar kd bart says:

Did the defense realize that this was a 1 O’Clock game?

  62. avatar Shamik says:

One thing is clear, the Jets have no clue whatsoever how to deal with a team with a strong running game.

  63. avatar john m says:

this d is so f—n overated …… nice to see kerry rhodes making big plays as usual..

  64. avatar BleedGreen says:

    streaming link anyone?

  65. avatar ridinmywave says:

Lowery is getting torched on every play

  66. avatar jon in bk says:

Jets D isn’t getting blown off the line, just having a hard time taking down MJD and even Garrard. Gotta start tackling and offense has to avoid turnovers. Rhodes could make a play, once.

  67. avatar BleedGreen says:

    thx

  68. Why do I subject myself to this S@#t week in and week out?? It is just plain painfull…

  69. avatar Shamik says:

The times wasnt kidding when they wrote that article on the decline of tackling this year. The Jets are a textbook example of what NOT to do.

  70. avatar Shamik says:

Throw the ball dammit!!! NOOO not to HIM!

  71. avatar Devon says:

WHY THE HELL is Schittenheimer abandoning the run game?

  72. avatar Kyle says:

    This team is so bad.

  73. avatar J-Kay says:

HEY GUYS I HAVE AN IDEA LETS DRAFT A RECEIVING TIGHT END WHO CANT CATCH

  74. How can I mute Fouts?? He is horrible!!!

  75. avatar wrex ryan says:

MJD would be hurtin if we had Jenks

  76. avatar Brandon from Illinois says:

The Jets got a first down by running 3 times in a row. So Schotty, being the brilliant coordinator that he is, calls all passes on the next set of downs. How can the Jets win with this guy calling the offense?!

  77. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Just bad football right now, our defense is actually killing us….

Either the Jets make adjustments or this game is Miami Monday night all over again

  78. avatar Kyle says:

Why aren’t we running the ball.

Oh yea, because we forgot to fire Schottenheimer and promote Callahan.

  79. J-Kay.. Keller is Very good, You can not blame this on him!!

  80. avatar wrex ryan says:

We must win this game somehow

  81. avatar Mark says:

Rookie QB and Thomas Jones — how is it that the OC decides to have the rookie QB throw three downs in a row when you can hand the ball to Jones and actually gain yardage? Every pass Sanchez throws, even the completions, look like they could be INT

  82. avatar Brandon from Illinois says:

We need to set up a petition or something because this offense is being sabotaged by Schotty.

  83. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

So far, every comment about BSchott is spot on… Either it’s Sanchez only looking downfield, but Schott doesn’t call up a screen or a slant… I don’t agree with some play calls on O…

  84. avatar TheRealRK says:

I just don’t get it, they are the best rushing team, the Jags can’t stop it, rookie QB and they destroy good drives by throwing the ball on 1st and then 2nd and then 3rd down. Its unreal

  85. avatar Devon says:

Didn’t we used to bring pressure on a QB?

  86. avatar Kyle says:

I like how the Jaguars Receivers actually hold on to the football when they are hit.

  87. avatar wrex ryan says:

The D is playing like the O. BAD BAD BAD

  88. avatar Shamik says:

I bet Josh Freeman and Jake Delhomme can’t wait to play this team

  89. avatar john m says:

gerrard is smokin our seconedary… what a joke …

  90. avatar J-E-T-S says:

D is horrible today. offense is crap like usual.
if we dont shape up SOON, we will lose.

and this game is a MUST WIN

  91. avatar Kyle says:

Leonhard is useless. How can you not jump in front and pick that off?

  92. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

C’MON NEED A BIG STOP ON 3RD AND LONG!!!

  93. avatar hostragrad says:

Why is no one in the chat room?

  94. avatar Brandon from Illinois says:

The wheels have fallen off. How did this season look so promising such a short time ago?

  95. avatar david says:

leonhard isnt useless just shut up

  96. avatar Kyle says:

    WHO WHIFFED ON THAT TACKLE!?

  97. avatar sec133 says:

great tackling on that 4th down… we better get our heads in this game quick or the season is over.

  98. avatar Devon says:

    Nice job Scotty.

  99. avatar Kyle says:

USELESS LEONHARD, DROPS A PICK, WHIFFS ON THE 3RD DOWN TACKLE.

    Put Smith back in.

  100. avatar Shamik says:

Dreadful tackling mechanics, absolutely terrible. This is what we get from the so-called defensive maven Rex Ryan?

  101. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Sheppard missed that 4th down tackle.

  102. avatar Devon says:

    This is garbage. Fire everyone.

  103. avatar James in TN says:

    Our secondary is a joke!!!!!!

  104. Kerry Rhodes is a THIEF!!!! Took the contract extension and hasn’t been seen since!!!

  105. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL Job by Strickland, the Jets are asleep out there and deserve to get Booed right out of the Meadowlands

  106. avatar ridinmywave says:

Sanchez just so happens to not look down field when he had braylon wide open I guess…….

  107. avatar Kyle says:

    This team is repulsive.

  108. avatar TheRealRK says:

Heck of a defensive performance 3 TD’s and a FG and twice as much Time of Possession.

  109. avatar Shamik says:

“Sims-Walker, breaking tackles for the touchdown!” WHAT TACKLES!? There are no tackles being made to be broken!!

  110. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

I benched Sims-Walker in my fantasy league cause I believed our secondary was gonna shut down the pass to their best receiver.

  111. avatar Organized Chaos says:

They don’t know how to tackle. This is disgusting. A defensive coach who doesn’t teach his squad how to tackle. Just magical.

  112. avatar Brandon from Illinois says:

I know Jenkins is gone, but this defense is playing pathetically.

  113. avatar john m says:

once again ..a lost looking football club … unprepared in every way …. they just run around , no game plan …to many big mistakes ,no big plays ..

and they wonder why fans aint f—n cheering ??

bozo ryan and comp. really need to tone down the swagger act now ….

  114. avatar kd bart says:

    Garbage defensive effort.

  115. avatar Kyle says:

It’s embarrassing to be a Jets Fan.

We have an idiot head coach, and possibly the laziest, most overrated players in the NFL.

  116. Game… Set…………. Match!!!

  117. avatar geoff says:

we are offically sad sack, a laughing stock. cubs of the nfl. going to watch some cfl, and oh good game in pitt. a couple of teams that know what the **** they are doing.

  118. avatar Devon says:

If we don’t score here, game over. And if we don’t I want to see Clemens starting the 2nd half.

  119. avatar tuco says:

I can’t take it anymore. This big-mouhted team blows. Adios Jets, adios Jets fans, adios TJB.

  120. avatar James in TN says:

Rhodes is a joke, hello been saying that all year!

  121. avatar Kyle says:

Oh, now Schotty wants to run the ball, when we are down by 11?

  122. avatar Shamik says:

TJ is by far the best player on the field for the Jets today. No knock on Jones, but that is just pathetic.

  123. avatar Devon says:

Yeah, that Keller guy has awful hands.

  124. J-KAY????? where you at now???

  125. avatar sec133 says:

I guess the meeting the secondary held this week really paid off.. glad to see they came ready to play today.

  126. avatar john m says:

what we need now is on of these everyday ass kisser posters to come and tell us why the fan base is so dissapionting and how we’re where we thought we would be in july ……… then call everyone not a real jet fan ….

  127. avatar ridinmywave says:

Kyle…..our recievers actually get the ball way too late to absorb any hits……that drop wasn’t kellers fault, it was well played by consedine. If anything sanchez should thank keller for saving him from another INT with that push off.

  128. avatar greg sec 130 says:

This one is on Rex’s shoulders because he spent all week saying they were prepared and lit into them last night to fire them up — and they aren’t tackling.

At 3-0 we had three home games vs. three teams with losing records… Did anyone imagine this?

  129. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Watch them score here and Rex goes for two.

  130. avatar Shamik says:

I’d bet that these Jets would probably lose to last years Florida team.

  131. avatar Devon says:

I’m an optimist, but I don’t like Sanchez. Horrendous throw.

  132. avatar Devon says:

Mark Sanchez is not an NFL QB.

  133. avatar J-Kay says:

I just dont get how Schottenheimer still has a job… Does anyone in the world think hes good?

  134. I like Shotty, and am not afraid to say it!!!!

  135. avatar Shamik says:

Its not Sanchez I have a problem with, we’d be perfectly fine with Sanchez if everyone on D would get it in their heads that running at the guy with the ball and diving in their general direction is not the way to tackle.

  136. avatar Chris says:

I’m sick and tired of 3 things:

    1) People believing the Jets SHOULD win any game.
    2) Rex Ryan’s fat ass running his fatter mouth.
    3) Out uninventive and vanilla offense.

Oh yeah, I’ll add an obvious fourth.

A complete lack of a pass rush. Even our blitzes don’t lead to actual S-A-C-K-S. Cut Ellis, dump Gholston, and draft defensive ends.

    Lito Sheppard sucks balls, too.

  137. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Whoa Whoa Whoa…this aint Sanchez fault. The play to Edwards the kid was running for his life as Braylon broke open.

The throw to J-Co was rushed because the O-line didnt pick up the blitz.

The defense hasnt forced the Jags to punt ONCE. That is why we are losing.

We are down 8 with a half to play. Its all on the D. Get a turnover, get a stop, do SOMETHING. Its as simple as day. The Jags D gets paid too, its not the offenses fault

  138. avatar Stewballz says:

Anyone starting to think it was a bad idea to give the team a week off instead of takeing a a few extra days off and prepare through the bye week.

  139. avatar James in TN says:

Just another jet fan, PLEASE say you are being sarcastic! Suckenheimer is a joke. Rhodes is a joke, and last but not least what the hell did the team work on for the last 2 weeks, it sure wasn’t getting ready for the Jags.

  140. avatar Mark says:

The problem isn’t Sanchez. He’s a rookie QB and will take time to learn to make good decisions. But, that’s the reason you come out and run, run, run. And when that fails, your run some more, so you tire out their linemen, and T Jones can come out in the second-half and run all over them. It’s as if there is no rhyme or reason to the Jets’ offensive game plan (if there even is one)

  141. avatar James in TN says:

We need a second half miracle. If we lose this game, I hope we lose the rest of the season so we can get Eric Berry!

  142. avatar James in TN says:

Jax hasn’t punted yet, that is unbelievable!!!!

  143. avatar kd bart says:

Don’t blame the playcalling. Blame the execution. On the second series of the game, if Sanchez throws a pass that Jones could catch, he walks into the end zone. He had three blockers out in front with no one on that side of the field.

  144. avatar Ny13 says:

I’m as let down as anyone but Kyle and Jkay are repulsive fans. We’d be better off without those SAME OLE FANS. Grow a pair and stop whining.

  145. James in TN…. I am not kidding I LIKE SHOTTY!!!!!

Eddie D…..Always putting in perspective!!! thank you!!

  146. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Kd bart- I hear ya but the O-line didnt even get a chip on the D-lineman, its a screen they just have to get a small piece of the guy on the backside.

Sanchez hasnt really been that bad, this game is not his fault. The veterans with the huge cap numbers (Faneca) have to help the young kid, he isnt Peyton or Brady

  147. avatar Devon says:

James, we don’t need Berry. What I’d love is Cody or Suh.

  148. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Alright, kd bart. Bad execution. Then call that play again! Call a screen once in a while!!!

  149. avatar greg sec 130 says:

They BETTER come out strong this half and make a defensive statement.

Herm’s teams used to shut them out in the second half constantly after poor first halves — so did Mangini year one.

  150. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

This is the true test of the coaching, coming out in the second half with good adjustments. Let’s see!

  151. avatar Shamik says:

Adjustments!? I don’t even remember the last time this team made adjustments. At least none that worked.

  152. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Three and out! Score here and I’ll feel good about this team again.

  153. avatar Shamik says:

    There ya go!

  154. avatar Devon says:

Drew Coleman: not a great nickel, but a great edge rusher.

  155. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

That first series is how we play DEFENSE- we do that in the second half and things will turn around

  156. avatar Devon says:

I love the idea of Revis returning punts. Remember this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIdov43Nn60

  157. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

So far adjustment #1- Put Sims-Walker on REVIS ISLAND!!!

  158. avatar dmazz says:

You guys are way to “EMO”. I love the Jets but I’ve never seen fans of a teamturn so fast on every player/coach/owner with every play in my life. – just shutup

  159. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Devon — remember the Giants used their shutdown CB to return kicks once? That’s all it takes.

  160. avatar RJinFla says:

I agree with dmazz some of you guys are a joke.

  161. avatar greg sec 130 says:

dmazz — who are you talking about? The people badmouthing coaches or players seem pretty consistent to me.

  162. avatar Shamik says:

Man, even Aaron Rodgers gets the ball out faster than this guy.

  163. avatar J-E-T-S says:

sanchez looks like a scared little girl in the pocket. hes so bad

  164. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Braylon sat down in the wrong spot in the zone he keeps going and he is WIDE OPEN

  165. avatar Shamik says:

I’ll stop badmouthing the players/coaches when they start proving me wrong on a multi-game basis.

  166. avatar J-Kay says:

Can we officially call Braylon garbage now?

  167. avatar James in TN says:

Berry is best player in college we need him.

  168. avatar ridinmywave says:

Seriously, with this team playing so lousy I can actually prioritize and get my life together, lol. I can honestly say I always put EVERYTHING on hold to either watch the Jets play and keep track of what’s going on with my team, I think this is a sign from God telling me to not put these guys on such a high pedistol, lol……smh

  169. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    J-E-T-S-

Sanchez looks like a rookie QB whose reciever sat down in the middle of the zone
Our a rookie QB that is put in bad situations when his OFF cord calls a toss play with no TE to cover up the OLB who blows the play up in the backfield

  170. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

    That was Leonard, baby!!!

  171. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Again- adjustment #2- bring FAST DB’s on the blind side blitz instead of MLBs up the middle

  172. avatar Everyone Shut Up NOW says:

Talking about the draft? Calling Braylon garbage when he’s done nothing wrong all game?

    The New York Jets:

    Bad team, worse fans.

  173. avatar ridinmywave says:

J kay, what are you 12 year old fan who knows nothing about routes?…….why would we call braylon garbage?……I understand frustration from all of us, but some of you say the most blind and dumbest things

  174. avatar Kyle says:

    This team is soooooooooooooooooooo BAD.

  175. avatar Shamik says:

Blind and does dumb things? = Sanchez.

  176. avatar James in TN says:

I called that INT, so predictable.

  177. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Thats on Sanchez- AWFUL Im done on this blog for today- c ya after the game

  178. avatar J-E-T-S says:

    HES SO BAD.
    CLEMENS. NOW

  179. avatar sec133 says:

Well done defenseon getting that back, Sanchez is still absolutely terrible!

  180. avatar Mark says:

God willing they will stop throwing the ball now. Win or lose with the run. It ain’t easy being a Jets fan.

  181. avatar Shamik says:

LOL, yep this really does explain their records.

  182. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

    Nice punt by Braylon Edwards…

  183. avatar J-E-T-S says:

omfg i hate this team so much

  184. avatar Mark says:

I can’t watch anymore. Too painful.

  185. avatar AKA Jack says:

    This is getting surreal

  186. avatar Denis says:

defense is keeping us in this (despite giving up 21 earlier)

  187. avatar Denis says:

ummmmm, i doubt i’m the first person to be saying this today, but ummmmm, FIRE SCHOTTENHEIMER? please? pretty please?

  188. avatar sec133 says:

    AKA Jack-

I was thinking the same thing, not only this game but how we have lost games earlier this season.. its almost unthinkable

  189. avatar jon in bk says:

Wow. I don’t get the people who give up. How is that fun? It’s an 8 point game right now. Yes, they’ve been playing a maddening style of football, making mistakes, turning it over, etc.

They’ve also made some plays and are within one score of tying it up. Let’s see if they can put a couple drives together.

  190. avatar Ny13 says:

No JKay you are garbage. Please take off your fins jersey and stop posting.

  191. avatar greg sec 130 says:

I’d like to see Greene in there now.

  192. avatar greg sec 130 says:

    Bray

  193. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Greene please — Jones needs a blow.

  194. avatar greg sec 130 says:

what is Greene doing in there!

  195. avatar TheRealRK says:

That pitch play hasn’t worked once, PLEASE stop using it.

  196. avatar J-Kay says:

What the hell has Braylon done for us aside from a few difficult catches that all of you are so quick to defend him?

  197. avatar greg sec 130 says:

    opened up the running game

  198. avatar Ny13 says:

What the he’ll have you done beside badmouth Your Team. Jkay you are a real piece….. Of work.

  199. avatar AKA Jack says:

I must have been a mass murderer or something equally heinous for God to send me back as a Jets fan in this life.

  200. avatar J-E-T-S says:

almost 7 min drive with 3 points, awesome!

  201. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

this is what I don’t get… Schott has to reinforce to Sanchez NOT TO KEEP GOING DEEP ON EVERY 2nd and 3rd down… He started off so great in this series, then two bombs deep into the end zone from the 20 yard line.

  202. avatar greg sec 130 says:

This is where the fans must get LOUD

  203. avatar Scouse Jet says:

The D has really turned up this half!

  204. avatar Jay says:

Alright here we go. 5 points down. Have a good feeling on this drive.

  205. avatar ridinmywave says:

One thing I’ve realized all season and very much so in this game, sanchez needs to stop being so predictable with his targets and spread the ball around. Its real evident he hones in one one particualr target for a a drive or two and then goes to someone else the next time around. First it was cotch, then it was keller, and now its braylon. I guess he’ll grow out of it being a rookie, but this offense has waaay to many weapons to not be dangerous, IMO we have better play makers and weapons than teams like the saints and pats, but its all about execution and those weapons getting the ball when they need to and being utilized properly

  206. avatar Shamik says:

Go jones, 1.5 fantasy points for me!

  207. avatar Shamik says:

Ha, Sanchez’s own inaccuracy saves his butt.

  208. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WAS BSCHOTT CALLING A BEDWARDS PASS AND THEIR D RECOGNIZED IT.

  209. avatar SuperWhat says:

Edwards looks like he has the strongest arm on the team

  210. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Nice to see a Wildcat that was effective! RUN!!!

  211. avatar Shamik says:

    Keller just sucks.

  212. avatar Shamik says:

Hell, I bet Leonhard with that club on his hands could catch better than Keller.

  213. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Need to come away with something here. At least a 3 to make our last drive easier

  214. avatar Shamik says:

ugh, I could feel Edwards hip crunch from here.

  215. avatar ridinmywave says:

“What has braylon done besides make a couple difficult catches?”…..that’s a lot more than anyone on this team can say lately……..what are you an angry orphan?…..go back to cleveland…..or miami or whatever wasteland u came from, stat facts or just stfu.

  216. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Take the FG, no way can we risk coming away with nothing

  217. avatar jetfaninla says:

shonn greene should get more touches a game. he’s been great this drive. great.

  218. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Shows what i know: big risk though

  219. avatar AKA Jack says:

4 tries from the 1. If we don’t get this I am going to start cutting myself.

  220. avatar SuperWhat says:

atrocious use of timeouts. Reminds me of Herman Edwards school of clock management.

  221. avatar Jay says:

What did I say?! lets go Jets! Haters take a seat!

  222. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Now go for 2 right. who cares about a 1 or 2 point lead? At least a 3 pointer would male a FG only tie the game.

  223. avatar jetfaninla says:

why we didn’t go for the field goal -

if we get it, it’s 21-19. if jax gets a FG, we need a TD. if jax gets a TD, it’s a 2 possession game.

if we miss it (or go for it on 4th), it’s 21-16. if jax gets a FG, it’s still a 1 possession game. if jax gets a TD, it’s a 2 possession game.

it’s risky, but this way with a TD, we’re leading. if we get a FG, we still need the ball back to score and pray jax doesn’t get a TD.

  224. avatar J-E-T-S says:

    jay,

not even close to getting out of this one with a win….

  225. avatar sec133 says:

    lets go DEFENSE!!!

  226. avatar Jay says:

J-E-T-S, can’t you even try to enjoy the game? obviously it’s not over. This is where the defense needs to make it’s money.

  227. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

That was a good hit on Edwards for the 2 point conversion, but he has to bring that into his body better. He’s a big target. He knows it. Don’t hate so quickly. I think his presence has made the receiving corps legitimate. SANCHEZ and BSCHOTT are playing like rookies. No excuse for BS. Pun intended.

  228. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Come on D!

  229. avatar J-E-T-S says:

    GAME.
    calling it now

  230. avatar jetfaninla says:

    crap.

  231. avatar sec133 says:

    not good

  232. avatar AKA Jack says:

I don’t believe it. They don’t give up a 1st down the whole second half and now this?

  233. avatar Jay says:

god they suck balls season over

  234. avatar ridinmywave says:

Yeah shonn greene got some wheels…….reminds me of turner, can’t wait for him to tear it up with a lot of touches next season

  235. avatar jon in bk says:

Jesus, I can’t believe the Jags just marched down the field on the D. Kerry Rhodes still not showing anything, Could be another really hard loss.

  236. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Unbelievable. Where’s the pressure on Garrard? What are we playing, Prevent D?!? Need a turnover…

  237. avatar Dammit says:

I never want to see Rex Ryan call for a two point conversion again.

  238. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Unfortunately…yep

  239. avatar Buddy says:

game over… another devastating… utter painful loss

  240. avatar Steve says:

It’s coming down to the same things again….we can’t stop them when we need a big stop…and now they are within the 20 yard line..with a two minute warning..and because of bad clock management…we have one time out left. So once again..unless a miracle happens…the game is put into Sanchez’s hands again..with probably a minute..if not less remaining….UGH.

  241. avatar AKA Jack says:

we are going to get the ball back with about a minute to play.

  242. avatar Jay says:

really was looking forward to that new england game too

  243. avatar Steve says:

And there goes our last timeout.

  244. avatar jetfaninla says:

Dammit, Rex needed to call for 2-points right there. No question about it that it was the call you were suppose to make.

If jax gets a TD, they should def go for 2 here to make it a 7-point game.

Luckily, we have TOs, so jax can’t run down the clock. oh, wait.

  245. avatar Casey says:

Game over, why does it seem the jets defense can never make that one last stop.

  246. avatar burbankjetsfan says:

Oh well. That’s game. What a smart play by MJD. See ya’ll next week. Bummer.

  247. avatar Steve says:

And that ladies and gentlemen is the game…

  248. avatar Kyle says:

Rhodes is so bad it us unreal.

  249. avatar jetfaninla says:

and if rex went for 1, it would be a 2 point game and we would be in almost an identical position right now with jax running down the clock and a FG would put them in the lead.

  250. avatar Scouse Jet says:

    Last second FG…oh feck

  251. avatar Buddy says:

UGH!!!! The Jets crowd being too loud backfires on Leonard.

Even when the Jets crowd gets into it, it backfires… Same ole Jets.

SAME OLE JETS… GOD WILL THIS EVER END!!!

  252. avatar Scouse Jet says:

Bad first half D and terrible use of TO’s has lost us this today, with all our TO’s we get the ball back down by 2 with over a minute left.

  253. avatar TheRealRK says:

Wow, new and exciting ways to rip out your heart each week.

  254. avatar kd bart says:

This one is on the defense. Needed to make a stop and couldn’t.

  255. avatar James in TN says:

    SOMFJ !!!!!!!! IT’s over!!!!!

  256. avatar sec133 says:

game over and season over.. Sanchez cost us again with his INT’s

  257. avatar Buddy says:

    devastating… crushing…

    SEASON OVER!

  258. avatar AKA Jack says:

I think I’ll go play in traffic now.

  259. Well it’s obvious that we are not a playoff team…. Maybe we will excell at the spoiler roll…..Heartbreak. every week.. I can not believe that I have sucked my kids in to this…..

  260. avatar Jason says:

I’m not even upset anymore. This team is just mentally not up to the task of being a winning team.

  261. avatar Jason says:

    I give up.

I cant take it anymore. The Jets are Horrendous.

    Thank god for the yankees.

  262. avatar James in TN says:

Rhodes should be traded to Cleveland

  263. avatar Suffering Jet says:

INCREDIBLE. Go from undefeated to can’t close a game off. COME ON

  264. avatar JAY says:

    SEASON IS OVER

  265. sec133..What game are you watching??? Rhodes and the D cost us this game.. NOT Sanchez!!!!

  266. avatar Casey says:

Two terrible picks by sanchez, terrible defense in the first half and last drive when it mattered, getting in the red zone and settling for field goals. These team kills me, couldnt even make the game winning field goal a test they let them have a nice little chip in.

  267. James in TN…. NO…Oakland!!!

  268. avatar James in TN says:

Hate to say it but Rex shoulders the blame on this one by not having them ready after a bye.

  269. avatar inOhio says:

Can we NOW at least end the playoff talk?

The Jets truly are one fiasco of a franchise. And I’ve been watching this for over four decades now. It has to end sometime.

  270. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

To everyone who hates Kerry Rhodes, your hate is justifiable. I will no longer defend him or anyone on this team besides Sanchez or Rex, they are both rookies and get a pass this year. Next year is a different story. There is still seven games to go but its the same old story with this team. Stupid plays and breakdowns late in games have killed this team.

  271. avatar James in TN says:

I agree Oakland would be nice for him.

  272. avatar ronnie says:

Mangini would have had this team at 6-3 right now.

  273. avatar sec133 says:

    Just Another Jet Fan -

Sanchez’s first pass of the game…

  274. avatar Revisisbeast says:

No shot at playoffs and the braylon trade was a waist of a 3rd and stuckey even if we get him back next year because we coulda had him for just $ in free agency anyway

  275. avatar ronnie says:

    LMAO
Typical Ryan statement after the game.

“I Trust this defense. Our defense is the best in the league. Our defense is so good that when we let the opposition score, they can’t score”

  276. avatar James in TN says:

Oh how I hate Schotty and Kerry. My xmas wish is that they are both gone next season.

  277. sec133.. Defensive first series of the game??? Last series of the game??? And about 70% of the series in between!!!!!!!

  278. avatar kd bart says:

“Sanchez’s first pass of the game…”

And the defense allowed to run right down the field off of that turnover. The defense allowed them to move the ball the whole first half and didn’t make any plays all day (The fumble was all MJD and had nothing at all to do with the Jet defense). The Jet defense cost them this game.

  279. Revis… Braylon Will make Sanchez better, wasn’t a waste of a 3rd…Would not have been a waste of a 2nd

  280. avatar James in TN says:

Schitty must Schitty must go Schitty must go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  281. avatar BigKatFan says:

For Christ’s sake, what do we have to do to win a F***ing game?! why could we not stop the run, let alone make a damn tackle? and once again, we kill the clock, only to have it kill us. This game was SUPPOSED to avenge years of getting kicked in the nuts by the jags. What the hell, Rex? A bye week does nothing??? The pats will have to suffer for this next week.

  282. avatar Shamik says:

In the end, this is a badly coached team that completely lacks the fundamentals of tackling and catching the ball. Frankly, its easy to come up with exotic schemes, but the best coaches are those that know how to instill strong skills in their players and get them to elevate their games each and every day.

  283. avatar Shamik says:

lol, the pats will do everything but suffer next week, thats for sure.

  284. avatar relity jet fan says:

SAME OL JETS! it will never end and we are 9 games in and this coach was a mistake he is terrible.

  285. avatar JPM says:

It is tough to lose such close games week after week. But, the good thing is that this team is always in the game.

Going into the season I saw maybe 4 wins from this team. Despite everyone’s belief that this is a “win now” team, any team with a rookie QB and head coach is in a rebuilding year. I don’t think they’ll lose their last 7 games so I’m thrilled that they’ll be better this year than I thought.

Next year both Rex and Sanchez will have a year’s experience under their belts and this team should figure out how to win.

  286. avatar Brian says:

Golf plans are being made now.

  287. BigKat… Pats suffer..I don’t think so.. even if we won this game next week would not have meant anything anyway because The Pats WILL win tonight!!

  288. avatar BigKatFan says:

oh yeah, and congratulations to Shaun Ellis (without whom my username wouldnt be possible) on his milestone. as bittersweet as it was.

  289. avatar Scouse Jet says:

These last 2 games have been real heart breakers, but as JPM says, with a rookie QB and HC, at least we’re in these games til the last second…heartbreaking but not hopeless.

  290. avatar oc says:

terrible. Schottenheimer is awful, RUN THE DAMN BALL.

and someone please tell him its not against the rules to run on a 2 pt conversion

  291. avatar reality jet fan says:

They are a piece of garbage franchise. They never get it right in 3 years we will be hiring a new coordinator. How can a team lose the same way for 40 years.

  292. avatar Shamik says:

I hate when people make excuses. Just because someone’s a rookie, we expect them to fail. Not true! Sanchez has shown he can play at a high level, he should be expected to play up to that level. Ryan has been a coach in the NFL for years now! You cant just get a new job and completely suck and show no improvement for months and expect them to not fire you!

  293. avatar ronnie says:

Hopefully the new stadium will bring us new luck.

  294. avatar kd bart says:

“terrible. Schottenheimer is awful, RUN THE DAMN BALL.”

And then half of the people on this site will be screaming “Schotty is awful. His offense is so vanilla and predictable with all the running. Throw the ball downfield!”

  295. avatar reality jet fan says:

I cant believe that excuses are being made! What is wrong with you people ? You all live in a fantasy land! They are the jets this is what they do! They were 3 and 0 and there are fans that are happy that they will win more then 4 games!

  296. avatar UnderDogz says:

Now do you Jets Fans believe me, FIRE REX RYAN!!!!

  297. avatar ronnie says:

To make matters worse, the Dolphins were in the same situation as us but they win.
TB scores with 1 minute left. Then the Dolphins drive down the field for the game winning FG.

  298. avatar TheRealRK says:

You fire the coach 9 games in? A rookie coach? Why exactly? Because he’s not that good at time management? He’s learning, gimme a break. You can’t just run through coaches like toilet paper. So stupid.

  299. avatar UnderDogz says:

Jets need to fire REX “Sore Loser” RYAN!

  300. avatar vurtualife says:

    Agreed with JPM above.

The comments in this thread will be overloaded with talk of Rex’s poor coaching, etc., but the bottom line is we have a rookie head coach and QB.

Every one of our games have been close. If I was a betting man, I’d say that almost every game we lost this year, we would have won with a 2nd year coach and QB. I firmly believe we will be a very good, playoff-caliber team next year; as much as we would have loved to have seen them take off this year, particularly after our 3-0 start, it simply wasn’t very realistic [of course, going 3-0 to start the season may have set expectations higher than usual for many of us].

Let the coach and QB take their lumps this year — it will only improve them for year 2.

However, I do believe there were certain things that occurred today that CAN NOT be excusable, rookie coach/QB or not, namely: very poor tackling in some crucial downs, poor clock mgmt [again], and some un-necessarily ‘fancy’ play calls on offense that really did not help us much.

oh, and Kerry Rhodes is indeed proving to be more of a clown with each passing game, seemingly concerned more with his celebrity status than playing hard-nosed football…

  301. UnderDogz……..Come On!!! He is not at fault for Rhodes playing an absolutely awfull game!!

  302. avatar kd bart says:

“To make matters worse, the Dolphins were in the same situation as us but they win.
TB scores with 1 minute left. Then the Dolphins drive down the field for the game winning FG.”

Did you see the end of that game? Henne threw an awful interception at about the 30 with under 2 minutes left to allow TB to score a TD and take the lead. That FG saved Henne a ton of crap from the media this week as the Fins almost gave away the game.

  303. avatar reality jet fan says:

Where is the anger? The season is over! And the coach stinks! All those names out there and the jets pick a d coordinator who couldnt get the head coaching job with his own team. And woody johnson guaranteed the playoffs for what year! You cant make it up my team is murrhys law!

  304. avatar UnderDogz says:

TheRealRK- You fire a coach who cant win with one of the best Defenses, and a future star at QB, with an excellent running game… Come on this guy loses and all he can do is make excuses about how his team out played the other team? Did the Jets out play the JAGUARS today??? lol NO!

  305. avatar Ben says:

The Jets’ last four losses were by a TOTAL of 14 points. 3.5 points a game. Absurd.

  306. avatar vurtualife says:

ronnie — Miami was NOT in the same position as us. they HAD the ball in their possession with 2 minutes or so remaining, down by 1..
if anything, they essentially replicated what the JAGS did to us…

Despite some of the negatives, I believe we would have scored at least a field goal if we had 2 min or so to play with..

  307. avatar UnderDogz says:

Wow are Jets fan still mad at the Fins because the 2 loses? WOW I can see why you guys support Rex Ryan. Its all about wins and losses in this league, and clearly Rex Ryan isnt cutting 5-6 games now… and counting…

  308. avatar ronnie says:

vurtuallife…..the Bucs had the ball with 1:48 left…they scored a TD very quickly with about 1 minute left. The dolphins then scored a FG with 15 seconds left.

  309. avatar Dylan says:

We didn’t lose because of Schotty… The first pick was just way underthrown and the 2nd pick Sanchez put right in the linebackers hands on a screen. The 2 point conversion play would have worked if Braylon could just hold on to the ball.

This team just finds a way too lose… The defense has come up WEAK in big spots. Rhodes, Sheppard, Strickland, and Lowery (in the first half) were TERRIBLE in coverage. The Jets need to find a good corner to start opposite Revis. Rex should and will take some heat for not having his team prepared after TWO WEEKS OFF! There is no excuse for that.

New York sports is a disgrace right now apart from my Yankees. Knicks are well…the Knicks, Nets (even though they are in NJ) are awful, Giants and Jets suck, and the Mets will always be terrible. Pathetic…

  310. avatar UnderDogz says:

    WHO CARES ABOUT THE DOLPHINS…!

  311. avatar vurtualife says:

ok, but the point is Miami had the ball with 1 minute left..

    we didn’t…

  312. avatar kd bart says:

    vurtualife

The Dolphins actually had the ball and a six point lead with under 2 minutes left when Henne threw a just plain awful interception deep in his own territory.

  313. avatar reality jet fan says:

This is hysterical! I have to guess these words of nxt year we will be better have been written b4! The jets have to be watched assuming they are going to lose that is the only way to get numb tto the pain. If there is any jet fan who thought that the jets were winning after b edwards dropped that 2point then they must not be watching the last 40 year.

  314. avatar mdGordon says:

Kerry Rhodes is a joke…has been for years. Doesn’t tackle like a professional. How many times do you see a play end and there is Rhodes with hands on hips? Often.

This team is a joke and will continue to be a joke. The defense sucks when it counts.

  315. avatar mike says:

the coach and quarterback are saying the right things, but do they really really think that they are better than their record? what’s with the quarterback’s pre-questions post game statement? trying to tell the media they should have no questions? Hah!

  316. avatar TheRealRK says:

UnderDogz, a future star? the key word is future, meaning he isn’t a star now. You answered your own question. I think Sanchez is going to be real good but if he had another year or two under his belt instead of being a rookie, they’d be 8-1 or 7-2 at this point, even with the inconsistent at times defense and Rex’s rookie mistakes.

  317. avatar UnderDogz says:

Rex should be held responsible for this season! The Jets can not win with Rex. How can you win under a coach who can’t acknowledge a loss? I would like to hear his comments today? Did the Jets outplay the Jags? Did he make Jone-Drew look Jim Brown?? lol come on a loss is a loss and its his fault! 2 weeks and you lose?

  318. avatar reality jet fan says:

Hey Rex Ryan give them another week off!

  319. avatar TheRealRK says:

Yeah rex not acknowledging a loss is the reason they are 4-5. Sure, just like the trash talking is the reason teams have beat them. That’s ridiculous. Its his fault Edwards drops a 2 point conversion and sanchez throws two picks and the defense missed tackles right? Sure, its all Rex’s fault. And 2 weeks ago he missed all those tackles on Ted Ginn. Try blaming the players Underdogz

  320. avatar UnderDogz says:

TheRealRK- He has been playing suprisingly well, yeah Mark is expected to make rookie mistakes but how does your defense give up 220 yards to D. Gerrard? And how does your defense in the same game give up 120+ yards to JONES-DREW. Sounds like the Jets were unprepared, and that is REX RYAN’S FAULT. No special teams excuses now,,,

  321. avatar kd bart says:

Bill Parcells: 3-12-1 his first year

Joe Gibbs: loss his first five games as coach of the Redskins

A lot of you would’ve wanted them fired during their first year’s.

Can we give him more than 9 games please?

  322. avatar vurtualife says:

Any talk of removing a ROOKIE Head Coach within his FIRST YEAR is absurd and nonsensical, not to mention short-sighted.
If we’re seeing the same thing midway through the following season, then perhaps we can start talking about a replacement for year 3.
But again, he’s also got a rookie QB to work with… and as someone else mentioned, all else being equal if we had a Sanchez with an year under his belt, we likely would have won at least 3 of the games we lost, if not more…

Any talk of firing the HC will look silly until the big guy has at least a year and half under his [wide] belt…

  323. avatar matt says:

everyone has to relax we can win with rex this is the first year hes been here and our d is pretty dam good n we have a qb whos only going to get better over the next few years anyone who thought we were going to the superbowl this year is crazy

  324. avatar UnderDogz says:

TheRealRK- I know its hard for you to admit Rex is a disgrace but I will remind you that it’s all about wins and losses, and its his jobs to get the players ready and playing well he did well in the beginning of the season, what happened? The team and it’s players are ultimately a reflection of the coach…

  325. avatar ronnie says:

We should be 7-2 right now.

The 2nd Miami game, the Buffalo game and this game should have been won by us.

You know they were unprepared? You were at practice were you? Interesting. He’s been playing reasonably well? He’s been below average. 9 TD’s 12 INT’s. I’m ok with that, he’s a rookie but blaming Rex for everything. You haven’t blamed a single player for what has happened, you’ve blamed the coach for everything. A coach can only do so much. No special teams excuses now? You said the last two weeks it was rex’s fault. I’m sorry didn’t they blow the last game? Oh yeah Rex didn’t prepare the special teams, I forgot

Real RK — it was his fault about Ginn. Feely should not be in on the play — he should be at the 50 slowing the returner down if he breaks free. He was not the first time, and the second time, instead of being a smart coach and telling him to stay back from now on, Feely is on the 15 yard line trying to tackle Ginn, and Ginn takes off. Poor coaching right there.

  329. avatar UnderDogz says:

I will remind you none of those coaches you have mentioned or any other rookie coach has ever talked as much as Mr. Rex Ryan! His lack of professionalism will show with his end of the year record and if he doesnt get fired he will 3 games into next year. Just reality…

  330. avatar greg sec 130 says:

John l — if we run the table we can make it, but we just lost 5 of 6 and 3 straight at home in our easy part of the schedule. This is a 7-9 team at best.

  331. avatar furman77 says:

im soo frustrated with this team,i threw all my jerseys and pics and stuff in the garbage, ive had it with this team,im so sick and tired of losing every sunday,im gonna root for the steelers from now on.

  332. avatar TheRealRK says:

I’m not denying Rex has made mistakes, his clock management has been brutal. But calling for his head is ridiculous and not blaming the players for anything makes no sense. And Mike Westoff controls special teams. Most coaches do it that way, they have a special teams coach who makes the decisions and Westoff is known for being the best, so no one’s complained about that arrangement before.

  333. avatar oc says:

They should run the ball 45 times a game. They have ran all over every team they play, yet they run on first and 2nd down. they are a bruising O pretending to be a finesse O

  334. avatar UnderDogz says:

TheRealRK, LEARN SOME FOOTBALL MY FRIEND. It’s a coach’s job to get the team prepared any given sunday. I dont have to see them in practice to know that. I know you will feel the same way I do at the end of the year when Rex is gone. So think twice before defend fatboy Rex….

  335. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    Braylon is not the problem

This team has a GOOD defense, not a CHAMPIONSHIP caliber defense

Sanchez is a ROOKIE QB, who has a buttload of ability but is not ready to lead a team into the playoffs.

We will finish about 8-8 like we thought we would in the beginning of the year but lets face it, we ARENT READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP.

Give Sanchez another year to learn the speed of the game, and give Rex a draft and an offseason to bring in more of HIS guys, THEN we can start pointing fingers

We got spoiled by the HUGE wins early, but the inconsistent QB play has hampered this team and put the defense in bad spots. The losses have piled up after the HUGE start and we are forgetting that Sanchez is not ready.

This defense isnt the one that guys like Flacco and Big Ben played with in their rookie seasons and Sanchez isnt as good as Matt Ryan

Doesnt mean that next year he doesnt start playing lights out next year

  336. avatar TheRealRK says:

Underdogz, you’ve done research on all the rookie coaches and who talks? You are making a big deal out of something that just doesn’t affect the game. No one plays harder or doesn’t play as hard because the coach has a big mouth. Should he probably not shoot off his mouth so much, yeah it’d be nice, but it means so little in the overall record of the team. You are putting too much stock into meaningless trash talk. When they are playing in the fourth quarter and missing tackles where does the Rex blabbering come into play?
There is no way he gets canned next year…in week 3? When has a coach ever gotten fired 3 weeks in? Please find that for me

  337. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Rex aint getting fired with a rookie QB in his first season, GET A GRIP ON REALITY

  338. avatar reality jet fan says:

We are not dead yet! ha ha! and we should be 7 and 2. this is some funny stuff HAHAHAHAHAHA

  339. avatar john l says:

just repeating what rex said on the post game show….but listen fans we’ve been in this situtation before. even if we are the ” same old jets ” those of us who have 20 or more years following them know that some years we actually do make the playoffs in dramatic fashion for this i say we still have a shot and not a long shot a fairly mediocre slightly good shot….

  340. avatar vurtualife says:

  341. avatar vurtualife says:

    meant to type “well said”

  342. avatar TheRealRK says:

Underdogz, maybe you need a football lesson. Of course a coach has to prepare his team, but how exactly do you know that they are not prepared? How do you know that’s what the problem is? And if you knew anything about football you’d know a coach never gets fired in week 3 of a season. Get a clue

  343. avatar john l says:

    11-5 afc east CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

  344. avatar pj2419 says:

where has the blitz been they were 3-0 when they blitzed now they dnt wtf rex BLITZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  345. avatar UnderDogz says:

Cameron got fired after his first season with the Dolphins and that was only a couple years ago. Great coach but his record sucked. Therefore you get fired… Rex I’m sure makes 10 times as any of you, can we all agree if you aren’t doing your job you should get fired? It’s as easy as that! The Jets have a good team, better then their record I would say but this coach will run this team down and they are going to be lucky if they win 7 games this year…

  346. avatar reality jet fan says:

REX RYAN BART SCOTT AND KERRY RHODES SHOULD DO THE POST GAME TOGETHER AND APOLOGIZE FOR EMBARASSING THEIR FAMILIES AND JET FANS

  347. avatar furman77 says:

i will no longer watch this team,im so relieved,i feel soo good right about now, lets go steelers,at least they can win some games

  348. avatar UnderDogz says:

TheRealRK- Go ahead and defend fatboy Rex, I will back on this board at the end of the season. I hope you feel the same way then…lol

  349. avatar UnderDogz says:

reality jet fan…. are you the only one with some sense on this thing?

  350. avatar kd bart says:

Cameron was also 1-15 and his team, for the most part, was non-competitive. The Jets are far from that. These games have been decided by 1 or 2 plays. The Jets make them and they’re 7-2. They just haven’t made enough plays when it matters. Four of their five losses have been decided in the last minute or OT.

  351. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    UnderDogz-
you have the balls to talk about sense when you mentioned Cam Cameron and “great coach” in the same sentence.

    What about this gem

“Rex I’m sure makes 10 times as any of you, can we all agree if you aren’t doing your job you should get fired? Its that easy

Not when you are a ROOKIE NFL HC and you have a ROOKIE QB who makes ROOKIE MISTAKES that puts a GOOD but not GREAT defense, with alot of Manginis players on still on it (Bryan Thomas, Kerry Rhodes, Lowery, etc),

Not to mention that they havent been blown out ONCE, and they lost Jenkins AND Leon.

With the way the NFL is, injuries to HUGE players and INEXPERIENCE does not translate to PLAYOFF BERTHS.

Rex has done some good things in his first year, has to improve on others, but he should AT LEAST get the 3 years Mangini got before you even think about firing the guy

  352. avatar James in TN says:

    Draft Eric Berry

  353. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Thanks Matt, sounds like that would solve all the Jets problems

  354. avatar Dean Barbella says:

There are two ways to cut one’s wrist.

Sideways which is not very effective and typically just a cry for help.

Along the legnth of the arm and the artery that runs through it,

Two week’s ago versus Miami the Jets chose the former. Today, the Jets choose the latter.

There’s a lot of Zombie Jets fans out there and I feel like one of ‘em.

If Rex Ryan’s not putting his foot in someone’s A$$, then someone better put there’s in his!!!
