Jets Re-Sign WR Britt Davis to P-Squad

by Bassett on November 17th, 2009 at 4:53 pm

Summer standout Britt Davis (6-3, 205) has been re-signed by the New York Jets. Davis, you will remember was a favorite of Rex Ryan this summer, but his struggles with making catches in preseason games tempered some of Ryan’s enthusiasm around Davis, eventually leading to his being cut by the team.

Erik Ainge said about Davis this summer that “you say he’s flying under the radar because he’s not going with the 1s or doing what Jerricho (Cotchery) or (Chansi) Stuckey is doing, but he gets talked about a lot in meetings. He just keeps showing up. From the day he got here, he’s shown flashes and made plays.”

We’ll see if he can get promoted to the active, but that might not come this season for Davis. Still it’s a good sign for him that the team wants him around, and depending on how he can perform on specials, might take the place of a guy like Woodhead on the active.

Now all we need is a QB to throw him a ball. Is Vinnie around?

should re name this blog the SOJ:Blog

because seems like most of the followers other then jesusrevis and company…and me included are the only ones that seem to back rex and this team 100% no matter what….

basset should reach out to a mood stabilizer supplement company and have them put ads on this blog…they will do a great deal of business

i used to say take your SOJ talk and miserbale rants some place else because this is a jets fans blog…but it seems as if i should be the one finding someplace else to find jets info

  3. avatar spindoctor says:

Ed L — If everyone backed Rex and the team 100% of the time this would be a very boring blog. I have to believe that 90% of the fans that frequent this site are die-hards…casual fans get there information in the newspapers or on sportscenter. Critical analysis does not make someone less of a fan. Spindoctor

  4. avatar Ed L says:

i agree with 100% with critical analysis…but reasonable critical analysis would be nice…

okay there are people ending our season after this last loss..

ummm idk but there is a chance we can beat the pats…we do have a good core team…and idk if critical analysis is poking fun at rex for being emotional and caring about this team…

oh and calling for mangini is definitely considered critical analysis

  5. avatar Ed L says:

critical analysis is saying that rex could be losing his players because he cried during his team meeting…???

but ummm all the players came out saying that it made them want to run through a wall….and multiple players said this not just one…. so actually the so called critical analysis of saying he could be losing his players has not a single fact to support this but the pathetic writing of cimini and co.

  6. avatar spindoctor says:

Some fans get so emotional with the highs and lows of the season that they think and say things that are inappropriate and inane. Journalists are paid to increase viewers/readers first and to emphasize responsible analysis second.

  7. avatar BigKatFan says:

i always felt we shouldve kept Davis over Henry…….who says ya cant have both?

  8. avatar m eazii says:

im a die hard jets fan and stay on this site 24/7 just dont blog too much , i only do wen i feel i have too….i kno it sounds wierd but its tru lol

anyways if we beat the pats we do have a shot at the playoffs but i doubt we will make a playoff run….but from wut i have seen i am lookin forward to next season and the following seasons with rex being out head coach…he is having rookie mistakes as we can all see and he will get them fixed and he will go down as a great coach, i am very confident in this…but at the same time i understand y most fans bash him becuz we came out flying high now look at us…but we had 3 expect this with a rookie head coach and rookie qb….and i am a young fan, only 22 and i am alredy getting tired of the jets not making any splash and showing us we can go all the way to the SB…so i can imagine the older fans that been following this team for years, but all i can say is b patient guys…we have a good team and we will only get better…we have a good defense which shud b GREAT next season….we have good pieces in offense also starting wit sanchez…i have faith that within the next 5 years we will make a SB and probably win it

  9. avatar vurtualife says:

Do alot of 22-yr olds type like “m eazii”? Dear God I hope not, or our civilization is doomed [if not already]. I was no distinguished wordsmith at 22 myself, but you take it to a whole new art form…

    “shud”?? surely you jest, right?

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re just utilizing some trendy slang iterations of the actual word, but the problem is if one uses such slang terms excessively, they eventually forget how to write/read like an educated American..

At any rate, enough of the nonsense rant.

I tend to agree with Ed L in that one cannot truly, critically analyze Rex, our QB, or this team as a whole until we observe at least a second year with this system/core unit…

Personally, I believe this team may not make the playoffs, but will end strong, and will go into the 2010 season as strong contenders to go deep into the playoffs…

Yes, many of us has said this before, but when was the last time we had a rookie QB with the passion and raw talent of Sanchez? Let’s see this kid in his 2nd year with a full year of this system under his belt [and that goes for the coach too, as both rookies will learn from the lumps they've taken this year], and if we’re at the same point midway through next year, then we can have some justification in our ire…. but not before…

Of course, that’s not to say we won’t get more than our fair amount of stress, tension, and sheer agita watching this team over the next 7 weeks [or perhaps not], but that’s part of being a FAN[ATIC], right?

  10. avatar dan from western ny says:

To : vurtualife and other jets fans who feel the need to correct every post or point out grammar issues

Please Stop!!!! we all understand the posts besides the slang and gramatical errors so just talk about the issues concerning the jets… im 22 years and have a degree but this is one place where i’d like to think i don’t need to proofread my posts for mistakes… i dont comment often on this blog but i am a big fan. What “m eazii ” said is absolutley right. As disappointing as this season is starting to become, there is much hope for the future… we have a potential franchise qb, a coach the players love and one who knows defense, and several bigtime players on both sides of the ball. I understand that I’m young and have not been through some of the heartbreak that you older jets fans have endured, but i am quite optimistic about our future…. go jets forever

Hah, I’m with virtualife here. For the record, I’m in my twenties and get driven mad by the non-existent grammar I see everywhere. I’m not saying that you have to have perfect grammar, punctuation and spelling on every post, but some of these posts are pure dribble. I always give my posts a once-over, and of course I still have mistakes, but at least there’s structure in it still. It’s a sign of the way our country is moving.

Oh and virtualife, Clint Eastwood agrees with us. He see’s the dying off of the WWII generation and what we’re left with, an increasingly juvenile nation. I tend to agree.

I think some of the haters and jets fans that cannot wait to turn on the jets should read Mark Cannizzaro’s piece today in the Post.

Its covers how ridiculous the fans and media has been on the following:

    Rex’s mouth
    Rex’s emotions
    Sanchez’s hot dog
    Sanchez’s comments after the game

And also touches on how Revis will own Moss this Sunday

Its true Rex can keep talking up his team, but i think he should pick his words carefully as to not put up any more bulletin board material and not put his team in a situation with too much pressure.

Right now, they need to stay confident, they still have a great running game and excellent defense (last game not withstanding), so play hard against NE and if we win the next two, we have a great shot at 10-6 and playoffs, if other teams lose a game here and there.

Other than that, Rex needs to evaluate his GAME PLANNING and IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS. Who cares if he gets emotional or talks a little. I want to see growth from him in the COACHING department.

  17. avatar Brendan says:

“Moss refused to give Revis accolades after the game. When asked about that Monday, Revis said, “I’m not even going to comment on anything he says this week. I’m going to give him his accolades as a great receiver and keep it moving. My job is to cover him and I’ll handle that. He’ll be covered.””

    God I love him.

I had to work for one whole day and missed the entire Crying Game debate, here is my take for which I am entirely ready to take the abuse of the green kool aid drinkers, but please, before trashing me as bitter and disloyal, think about it. It is not too late to correct this mistake:

This is embarrassing. The ship be sinking, if you all dont see it you are blind from drinking green kool aid. 1-6, injuries mounting, coaches crying, insubordination, rookie QB cracking, the signs are all there.

The league is laughing at this franchise and coach right now. Rex went from arrogance without achievement to to a buffoon crybaby in nine short games. Amazing what our JETs can do to a person, perhaps Rex understands the same old jets mentality now?

Instead of seeking advice from his competition (are you kidding me, you dont see our president talking to China do you? :-)), Rex should seek help from a shrink.

The one that needs to talk to Cowher is Woody Johnson, someone needs to come in here and remake this organization from top to bottom.

It should have been done last year, but Woody had a plane to catch.

After the trendy rush to unproven assistants last season, there remain a bunch of veteran proven winning coaches looking to reenter the league and this is a prime franchise with talent in place.

Woody needs to knock Mr. T out of the way and get one of these guys NOW, before they are scooped up by CLE, BUF etc. Hire a proven HC as a consultant with a handshake that he takes over football operation in 2010.

REX crying out for help is the perfect cover.

Actually, WOJF, our President is talking to China.

Go to the corner store or look at the link that Brendan provided ( its a wake up call from Cannizzaro for fans like you) that clearly shows how your post about the franchise, Rex, Sanchez etc…. make absolutely zero sense.

    Yours truly,
    Kool Aid drinker AKA…..Drew

  22. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

I am unrealistic? You need to look in the mirror.

Yeah I know this franchise is doing so well that it is irrational to go hire a proven NFL head coach to run the organization.

Where exactly are the holes in that argument, Drew? Go ahead elaborate.

This happens to be the exact thing that turned this franchise around about 12 years ago if I remember correctly.

Cowher etc are available now, they will not be available in 2011. Even the clueless CLE owner realizes his mistake and is in the process of correcting it.

    Brendan, sarcasm, see :-).

  23. avatar Brendan says:

I thought so, WOJF, but with the stuff people throw out there, I can never be too sure.

  24. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

Does Britt Davis return kicks, and more importantly punts?

If they get Revis hurt returning punts I will vomit.

  25. avatar Brendan says:

If they get Revis hurt returning punts, you’ll get your wish for starting over granted, because the stadium would implode with all the anger that would be released.

Davis did return kickoffs in college, so they may be thinking of using him there. God, why did Aundrae Allison have to get hurt?

  26. avatar AKA...Drew says:

    WOJF

Where do you see panic from the Jets? Based on what? Rex getting emotional? Sanchez post game comments? All of these things are explained in the article that i referred to earlier. The only panic I see if from overreating fans.

The league is laughing at the Jets? Who? Where is that said anywhere other than in your mind

Bill Parcells ( the man you reference in you reply)seeked advice at the begining from T Landry, Gibbs etc in his own division back in the 80′s. look it up.

It was well known that Cowher didnt want to coach let alone the Jets and Woody didnt want to get used to raise his price for another team.

Here;s a question since your the Wise Jet fan….. How did the guys you want ( who know the experience guys) do early on? Parcells, Cowher etc…

The coaches need time not 9 games to develop their craft. Maybe you should relax a little and think your post thru a bit before challenging me to shoot holes in it.

And didnt Obama talk to China?

Where is your post valid at all?

  27. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

Drew in the interest of fairness I went back and read the Canizarro article, again (I Read the post every morning), and do not see how it “clearly shows how your post about the franchise, Rex, Sanchez etc…. make absolutely zero sense”.

He is instructing Rex to be himself and just coach better and criticising the MEDIA (not fans) that now want Rex to shut up, which is old news anyway, the current story is the crying game.

It also does not address the state of the Jets as a whole, which is the point of my post.

So it is your reference to that article that makes no sense.

  28. avatar AKA...Drew says:

Its the point that the media drives the fans to overreact….which is what you and most jets fans are known for

Let the guy coach the damn team and enough with the poor me attitude.

I think we have a coach that is right for the team. has he made mistake yea…but what 1st year coach dosent.

Your rant made no sense. The Cowher, killing Rex for reaching out and the cracking QB were especially pointless.

  29. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

I am absolutely certain Parcels never broke down and cried like a baby in front of his team, nor did any of the other coaches that turned it around.

No one is going to say it, but you can bet your bottom dollar the NFL is laughing at this turnaround from classless boastful buffoon to crybaby. You dont thing that JAX is smiling that they made the man cry?

If Cowher did not want to coach how would Woody be raising his price?

It was well known that Cowher;s reason for not coaching this year was he wanted to see his kids in college. Guess what, they are in college in NJ and NY.

Would it have hurt for Woody to actually ask?

I wanted a veteran coach for a win now team, not another assistant since I did not want to go through these exact growing pains with a veteran team that was 9-7 last year.

Did not have to be Cowher, but he was and remains my first choice. It is not too late to correct the mistake, but nothing will ever happen as long as Mr. T runs the show.

Last, please see my comment to Brendan above, the Obama comment was sarcasm, indicated by the little smiley face.

Yes, Obama is getting financial advice from the Chinese, which is just as absurd and a hell of a lot more scary than Rex talking to Parcels.

  30. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

I rest my case, we will let the folks decide.

  31. avatar JesusRevis says:

    Wise Old Jet fan,

You should change your name to, “Same Old Jet Fan”

  32. avatar AKA...Drew says:

    - I missed the smiley face
    - Cowher told sources he didnt want to coach the Jets and yes his daughter plays for Princeton. Woody did ask and thats why he didnt take the meeting. What Woody is a dummy now also?
    - Did you happen to see that Parcells seeked advice even tho you killed Rex for doing it? Just asking

  33. avatar Brendan says:

    WOJF,

You posted something along the same lines on another thread, and I have to take issue with it:

“There are a bunch of veteran coaches looking to reenter the league and this is a prime franchise with talent in place. Woody needs to knock Mr. T out of the way and get one of these guys NOW. Hire him as a consultant with a handshake that he takes over football operation in 2010.”

In the same paragraph you call us “a prime franchise with talent in place”, but then say we need to get rid of Tanny. Um, Tanny is the reason we are “a prime franchise with talent in place”. He isn’t the one who coaches the players, prepares them and leads them. He just builds the team. To call for his head is laughable. The guy has done nothing but go out and get the players we need at the positions we covet.

You keep referring to Rex as a crybaby. That isn’t what took place in the locker room. He wasn’t blubbering and sniffling like a child. He was so worked up that he began tearing up and crying (in the sense that tears were running down his cheeks). That isn’t a crybaby. It’s someone who is so passionate and invested in this team’s success that he loses control of his emotions at times. That’s not a crybaby. A crybaby is someone who whimpers and cries when things don’t go his way. Rex was crying because, as Mangold himself put it, he is upset this team isn’t reaching it’s potential. Mangold said it was like a parent wanting their kid to succeed, seeing the potential for success there, and being frustrated that their kid just hasn’t reached it yet. Revis said it was upsetting to see Rex like that, because they care about him and know he cares about them. Woody said what he saw was a guy that believes in his team so much, it physically pains him to see them not succeed.

How is this guy not right for the job? Someone had to give Cowher his first job. Holmgren, Fassal, Shanahan…they weren’t born head coaches. They had to get their first crack at it from someone who believed in them and stuck with them. People calling for a coaching change IN WEEK 10 need to get a hold of themselves. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Football Genius himself Belichick was 5-11 his first season in NE. Give the guy time. If his problems are game-related (management, organizational, etc.) then I am fine with that. Those are things that can be improved. Something that can’t be learned or taught is how to have that innate ability to get your team behind you. These guys truly care about Rex and he truly cares about his team. They have a “we’re in this together” type of bond that this team has lacked for years. I’m willing to go through growing pains if it leads to what I believe will be a Bill Cowher-like run in the big apple (which is unheard of).

  34. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

I did see Parcells asked for advice, yes, I acknowledge that point.

As for Cowher, the way I remember it Woody would not agree to meet with him, or would not take the call personally, instead delegating to Mr. T and Cowher refused. If Woody was as aggressive landing going after Cowher as he was with Farve who knows?

One more point, I dont think most Jets fans overeact in general, and it is not the media that drives most who do. Jets fans, at least the ones I know and read on here, are very knowledgable and have their own opinions.

This blog is full of comments immediately following the game, well before the media has a chance to file a story. Personally, almost all of my comments are made prior to reading any media stories.

I have been right, wrong and some are undecided but I certainly can not be accused of being manipulated by the media.

  35. avatar subwayfare says:

Beware the wisdom that is self-diagnosed.

Firing a coach after 9 games is exactly the sort of haphazard management approach that has defined the Same Old Jets for nearly four decades. This rookie coach, undoubtedly, has some rough edges that need polishing, but his players love to play hard for him, (there remains no evidence to the contrary despite the baiting by the NY press) he’s demonstrated tactical skills and an ability to make in – and between – game adjustments (a refreshing change around Jetland) and he has not demonstrated the sort of stubborn, recalcitrant arrogance that would lead one to believe he won’t try to improve in the areas in which he’s currently deficient. There is nothing close to a rational argument for folding this hand at this stage of the game.

And who would replace Rex? Cowher? A coach who went 8-8 in his last season, only to see his team improve by 2 wins the following year, and win the Superbowl the next? And who led the Steelers to the Lombardi trophy? It was trendy, unproven assistant Mike Tomlin, the youngest coach ever to win the title.

In fact, of the 12 playoff teams last year, seven were coached by recently promoted assistants. I wouldn’t be so quick to toss that trend in the trash heap.

The Jets are exactly where most knowledgeable analysts predicted they would be at this point. I don’t know if Rex is going to be a great, or even very good, NFL Head Coach. I do know that it’s virtually impossible to make that determination after half a season and making a panicky coaching change after 9 games would deal another crushing blow to a franchise that’s already taken it’s fair share of them.

  36. avatar Woodhead fan says:

Yeah…get rid of Woodhead so when your next RB goes down…you have only one left!!! Great idea!! Not to mention the fact that they haven’t even gave him an opportunity offensively!!!!! Great Plan Einstein!!

  39. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

We have hired a proven winning coach twice in fifty years, Ewbank and Parcells.

We have hired a bunch of inexperience coaches over the years and not one has succeeded, here or anywhere else in the NFL.

I am tired of it and prefer to take my chances winning right now with a proven quality HC rather than waiting around hoping that Rex is the guy. You have window to land Cowher, or one of the others, right now. WAS, CLE, BUF and others will be hiring these guys this year. If you wait a year and Rex craps out you missed the opportunity.

Brendan, The Jets are a prime franchise because of location and an owner that is willing to spend, not because of Mr. T.

Mr. T bought most of the talent thanks to Woodys open check book, willingness to trade draft picks, and has some successful high first round picks.

He has mixed results in the draft but I have to give props for Revis, Mangold, and Leon.

Truly, no one else has really exceeded expectations.

Brick and Keller are acceptable for where they were drafted, but Gholston, Clemens and every other third round and later picks are busts (too soon to judge 2009 class).

But bottom line, you are what your record says you are, and if they end up with a losing record this year which appears increasingly likely, at some point Mr. T has to begin to take the heat.

How long does a GM usually get to build a winner?

  40. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

Bent, true, that was after a huge emotional win near the end of his coaching career, not after a loss in his rookie season.

    Completely different circumstance but noted.

  41. avatar Brendan says:

    WOJF,

I should have just limited my quoting of your post to “with talent in place”. That’s a GM’s job. Find the talent, sign the talent, cut the talentless. We have a talented roster, that’s for sure, and that’s because of Tanny.

You really want to end Rex’s tenure after 9 games? Really? With a rookie QB, a O-Coordinator with his head so far entrenched in his arse that he thinks his large intestine is the tunnel leading to the field at Giants Stadium, a new defensive scheme and two catastrophic injuries? That’s all the sampling you need?

Tanny’s draft record has brought the team D’brick, Mangold, Revis, David Harris, Leon, Ainge, Keller, Lowery, Stuckey, Eric & Brad Smith (not counting this year where we’ll surely be adding Sanchez and Greene to this list).

Conversly, we have Gholston, Henry, Nate Garner, Jacob Bender, Clemens, Schlegel, Posciask, Drew Coleman and Titus Adams as bad picks.

Gholston was a 1, Clemens a 2 (who most people had ranked as a first round talent) and Schlegel was a 3 (inexcusable). Now keeping in mind that no one has a pristine draft record, I’ll take that good list over any other team’s good list since then. I did a little study on here a while back and Belichick is horrible in the first 3 rounds, with one out of every 3 or so players drafted pans out. Tanny is good in the draft, just let him go get his guys.

  42. avatar Wise Old Jet Fan says:

Sub, the same old management will keep him around for three more years until he fails, which is the usual pattern. Hire an unproven coach, have three or four up and down seasons, then fire him when the team goes belly up one season.

    Then repeat.

The only two time since the Big Game that this franchise truly became revitalized was when Hess got so tired of losing he brought in Parcels, who changed the entire culture.

I believe we have reached that point again, and Woody needs to make a similar move. I believed it BEFORE we hired Rex, and believe it is not too late since those proven coaches are all rumored to be in the market this year.

The move has to be made now due to their current availability and the fact that much of the core of this team is in its prime and soon to begin the inevitable decline.

I hope that you are right and Rex and Mr. T can get us there, but I am certain a veteran coach can step in and win with this team right now.

For the record, I would not fire Rex right now, I would hire the target coach as a consultant, they let him make the call in the offseason. I would even leave open the possibility of keeping Rex on as a coordinator if he concurred.

  43. avatar Brendan says:

NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! YOU WANT TO FIRE A GUY AFTER NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! YOU WANT TO FIRE A GUY AFTER 9 GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!! NINE GAMES!!

  44. avatar Bent says:

Wise – his comments in the article suggested that it wasn’t the first time he’d cried after a regular season game though.

This may come as somewhat of a newsflash, but Rex cried after the Dolphins game too. I didn’t see him bawling or anything, but he had tears of emotion in his eyes during his press conference (not sure if this was apparent on the TV), notably when he talked about how much he believed in his team (and Mike Westhoff) and also in the locker room as he walked within 2 feet of me shortly after those comments were made.

My initial reaction was a positive one, that I could see in his eyes what the job and the success of the team meant to him. Mangini came under fire for not being emotional enough, but although he was criticized for his stoic gum-chewing even at the worst of times on the sideline, you could see it in his eyes too when things went against him.

Fact is, these guys are all dedicated professionals and while some may talk trash and chew guys out after a mistake while others try and maintain an even keel, I don’t think either method is the right way to earn the respect of your players. You do that with your gameplanning and coaching. I do think Ryan has the respect of most of his players right now.

I’ve had coaches (and teammates) react the same way in the past and while it is alien to my own nature (I’m a bleeder, not a crier), I’ve never had a problem with someone wearing their heart on their sleeve and showing they care so much about a win or a loss.

Players react differently too. For example, after the Miami game, Keller and Wright were visibly shaken and searching for reason, whereas the more experienced Damien Woody spoke calmly, at length, about focusing on the next game and the rest of the year.

I don’t have a problem with Ryan being emotional. The trash talk is not a major issue either, but I did predict that there would be a backlash once the Jets encountered choppy waters and, even though they are 4-5, which is right where most people expected them to be (and includes some bad luck), some are talking as if this is the worst Jets team they’ve ever seen.

The Jags (a decent team in their own right) deserve some credit for a hard fought win on Sunday. It was a good fightback from the Jets, but once again they didn’t execute on all three phases in both halves.

Luckily he is a Redskin fan is still flying high from his win on Sunday.

I guess I’m lucky I share my office with one person, who happens to be as insane about the Gmen as I am about the Jets. By sounds alone you would think we were the two most productive people on the planet. But no, our typing is on sports message boards and Gchat. And people wonder why our country isn’t productive anymore…

I used to get about 6 hours of work done in a 9 hour work day. TJB has easily cut that in half the last 2 years…. God forbid if I work from home. I get nothng accomplished….lol

    Bent:

How can you extrapolate that Parcells cried or had cried from that article.

The only thing that Parcells acknoledges is that he became emotional. One of his players was quoted as saying Parcells “eyes were watery”. I really dont see were we can absolutely confirm that he CRIED from that.

Beign “emotional” and resulting in “watery eyes” is akin to saying that drizzle is the same as raining !!

C’mon Bent, now your becomming the same as these slanted, sensational sharks in the media.

    Bent:

I’m glad that you brought up Mangini because the Media PAINTED him as devoid of emotion and robotic.

Those that have been close to him, even his players, will tell you that he is quite the opposite, even very funny, when dealing directly with people..

Mangini just doesn’t show it in public !!

  53. avatar Brendan says:

Ok Hank. How bout this line:

“”Have you ever cried after a regular-season game?” came the next question.

    “Sure,” Parcells said. ”

    Oh, and this one.

“”Hey, I saw Mike Ditka cry in New Orleans,” Glover said. “If Ditka can do it, hell, anyone can do it.””

Keep at it, because no one thinks you’re a slanted, sensational shark in the Blog-o-sphere.

Hank – I see Brendan has already answered your previous comment, but on Mangini, I agree entirely that the media portrayal of his personality was not very accurate. In fact, R in CT interviewed him in person and confirmed as much to me when I asked him about it.

I think that, in many cases, their portrayal of Rex Ryan may be pretty inaccurate too, as I’m sure you would agree.
