On Coach Ryan…
Knowing that (Coach Ryan) is emotional really shows (us) that he cares about the game. I am pretty sure that if you were to check when we had that team meeting on Monday there were a couple of guys ready and fired up to play. Our future is ahead of us. If we don’t win these games, there will be changes. We need to make sure that we take each game as it comes, one week at a time. Right now we are trying to be the best Jets team on a Wednesday that we can be.
On if this game is a “must-win”…
As far as if this is a must-win for us, it’s a must-win because it’s our next game. We can’t afford to lose games in November and December and expect to be alive in January. Good teams win games when it’s cold. There is no secret about it. We lost some games early on that we must make up in these latter months. Is it a must-win? It is because it is our most important game for this week. We’re not looking down the road. We have to win on Wednesdays, we have to win on Thursdays to put us in a situation to be able to win on Sunday.
On the game against New England…
This is going to be something that we are prepared for. We have veterans on this team like Shaun Ellis (and) Bart Scott who have played in big games. You have Rex Ryan, who has coached in some big games. There is no flinching on our part. When you have a good, solid offensive line like we have, we feel good about our chances. These guys have been moving guys around all year. Why not now? We are going to make that claim that we are (a) big and bad team. Why not the next game?
