Jets Woken Up By Fire Alarm

It seems the Jets didn’t get an uninterrupted night’s sleep last night.
Tight end Dustin Keller tweeted in the wee hours of Sunday morning, “So much for a good nights sleep..the alarm just went off in our teams hotel hahaha grown men walking around the hallway in their draws haha.”
Jets safety Kerry Rhodes tweeted after getting out of bed, “You know we are playing New England when in the middle of the night when you are asleep somebody pulls a fire alarm to wake u up!! wow!!”
There’s no proof that it was a Patriots backer who pulled the fire alarm, but that’s clearly what Rhodes is suggesting. We’ll see if the Jets look sleepy this afternoon.
UPDATE: This is apparently a frequent problem for teams that play New England; the Bills were also awakened by a fire alarm the night before they played the Patriots this season.
Most of us know that when we were in college, this sort of thing happened all the time, and somehow I was still pretty well rested. That said, it’s interesting how these sort of SNAFUs happens in New England. During Spygate, there were coaches who complained of their headsets going out once into the Red Zone … that sort of thing. I’m not saying it was an intentional pull by an over enthusiastic Patriots fan, but living up here for going on six years now, this doesn’t exactly surprise me either.

We’ll have to return the favor next year. For now, I hope Jets fire alarm was pulled last week against Jaguars. We got our backs against the wall. Come out swinging!!!

you’re all wrong, immature, and ignorant. I work for the Marriott Hotel the Jets were staying at. First, nobody but hotel staff knew the Jets were staying with us; on purpose. Second, it was not a maintenance man sanding that set it off – as reported in Bleiss’ blog. What REALLY happened was some Jets fan who happened to be staying in the hotel got wasted drunk and when we couldn’t get into his hotel room (because he was too drunk to realize he was trying to open the wrong room) he freaked out and pulled the fire alarm.
That ought to make all of you think twice before making assumptions about any fans – and as a Giants fan, I HATE the Patriots.
I was woken up too… I was at the same hotel – and management said it was due to dust that got into the system… the worse thing was that some of the jets players did not go outside so if it were a real fire who knows what would have happened…
