Pre-Game Thoughts from Gillette

by Bassett on November 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Greetings from Gillette!

Corey and I are getting ready for the kickoff. As we’ve talked to some of the beat reporters here’s some of what we’re thinking heading into the game…

  • Everyone in the press and I do mean everyone, has a bad feeling about the Jets in this game. People are expecting a blowout, we’ll see how it goes, but no one even “has a feeling” about the Jets pulling out the game tonight.
  • Walking over here, both Corey and I remarked to ourselves that it’s starting to get chilly. Sanchez has had some well documented struggles in colder games so far this season, see if it plays in. It’s also starting to get a little windy .. we’ll see if that factors in too.
  • Talking to Rod Boone from Newsday, he stressed that people building a program and the article he wrote this week about that. Tempering expectations is important for this team, this year with a rookie QB and Coach.
  • People talked about the 41 guys at the facility on Tuesday, the off day .. and that’s an impressive. But when my boss rips me a new egress (since he’s never cried in my presence, we’ll call that the equivalent) I know I’m putting in exta hours for a while.
  • David Clowney has been out covering kicks. Straight line speed seems to be the money in the new ruled ST … let’s see if he fields any today.
  • There’s a number of Patriots linemen who are out … let’s see if that gives the Jets a chance …

I am fed up. Rex should have BENCHED Sanchez after the second interception. He is not giving us the best chance to win. I am pissed.

26 yds on offense today and 16 picks this season. Give him the benefit of doubt and Mark has 10 picks. There’s 70 points in the toilet. NE and NO were outright losses, but the rest were games that could have been won, And Shotty, nice call with the Wilcat on 3rd and 2. What the hell were you thinking? Yeah, I’ll be paying those outrageous ticket prices … NOT.
