I respectfully dissagree with your comment, because I have the complete opposite oppinion.

It's not that the fan needs to grow a pair, because he complained. Rather, Clowney needs to simply grow up.

Personally, I wouldn't chatting with David Clowney, because he would have little to offer me outside the gridiron. It's like listening to Bono talk politics. I really don't care who's threads Clowney's rockin' or he favorite color and what he just ate.

That said, were I to be one of our younger fans who did care to follow him on twitter, then it would be complete crap to have him tell me to kill myself, regardless of the exchange.

Bottom line, he's in the entertainment industry and obligated to handle himself within the code of conduct befitting the NFL and even more so the NY Jets.

If I was Woody, I would remind the young pup, he's not a gangster rapper promoting a new release; rather, he's second string wide out trying to make an 4-6 franchise. I sign your paycheck, so shut the hell up, 'cause you're embarrassing yourself and the team.

I'm sure this is happening. This is much more sever than his previous offense and likely won't result in any public penalty, because both the team and Clowney are sweeping this under the rug.

Twitter-Gate!

or

Clowney-Gate!

or

Kill Yourself-Gate!

I can't decide. Like 'em all!

What I was eluding to was that any direct messages that David Clowney are sent in private. The public would not be privy to them so in case it was true, you dont know if the was harassing DC. Just looking at theoretical aspects fo this scenario.

"Question: how come the Jets have always had such a hard time finding young talent in terms of coaches? I feel like we constantly go to the well for older, recently released coaches from other teams (the Hacketts and Heimerdingers of the world)."

For co-ordinators we do (apart from Schott), but our last few head coaches are the opposite. Maybe they need to do it the other way around!

"Who knows what correspondence he sent to Clowney."

We published what he sent to Clowney on this site. http://www.thejetsblog.com/2009/11/23/breaking-david-clowney-tells-fan-to-kill-yourselfon-twitter/

Um honestly I dont see the big deal even if he did say to the guy to kill himself. Who knows what correspondence he sent to Clowney. If Leon Washington tolde me to kill myself, I would be like "Damn, that's fcuked up...what a douche move on his part."

The guy that got told that should grow a set and not let someone he hardly knows get to him, if it does, then he has personal issues.

SackDance,
I think Weis is far more arrogant than Martz and lacks the perspective to serve as anything less than top dog in an organization. One of the problems I see in the future for Ryan is an inability to work with big personalities and egos down the road- these types make up 90% of coaches and coordinators worth their salt.

Question: how come the Jets have always had such a hard time finding young talent in terms of coaches? I feel like we constantly go to the well for older, recently released coaches from other teams (the Hacketts and Heimerdingers of the world).

Which comes first - The Public Relations Agent or the Playing Time?

Clowney needs both! Implore family, friends to pull the plug on his twitter account until he has something to talk about. I love his naive enthusiasm, but his comments show no respect for the opponent and the fans.

COS, an abbreviation for Coach Over Shoulder!

Speaking of Rex, while he's no Mike Holmgren (Montana, Young, Favre, Hasselbach), he's a damn good leader and he's doing the right thing by getting more involved in the offense, even if only getting his voice in the young Sanchez's ear.

Rex is; however, a Deafensive Coach. He's lossed a big man in the middle with Kris Jenkin's injury, but he was smart to bring in Scott and Leonard to help deploy his defense and project his personality. I love these guys on and off the field. The play with reckless abandon and speak with deliberate humility.

Hopefully, they can turn Kerry Rhodes head and game arround. This benching might be the best thing that ever happened to him. He seems to be the antithesis of Jerry Rice, sleeping in and cutting corners all week, only to 'show up and blow up' on Sundays - 'cause he's so damned talented.

Well, the bubble's burst. Time to get to work. Stick, Dig, and Wrap yourself into earning your job back. No more missed tackles, INT's and getting runover.

Overall, I've got to say that given the circumstances and acknowledging his hand in our 4-6 record, I like how Coach Ryan has responded.

Let's see what these young guys can do. We're playing for pride and building for next year.

I know this has been said before, but if Weis is fired by ND, he'd be a great OC for the Jets. Also, if Ryan could take his arrogance, Martz is an offensive genius. I mean with Jericho, Edwards, the Clown, Keller, a great OL and a rookie with talent, the offense should be better. I wish Schotty had a twitter page!

Clowney certainly has maturity issues, but he's a perfect 3rd WR. You can put Jericho in the slot and let the Clown fly deep...like when Parcells had Dedric Ward and Chrebet would move to the slot.
