Audible: What Are You Thankful For?
Posted on November 26th, 2009 by Bassett
Today’s been a bit hectic, but wanted to make sure we said Happy Thanksgiving and hope that you and yours all have (had) a great day. Even though the Jets are 4-6, there’s a lot of other reasons we all have to be thankful.
We wanted to say thanks to all you readers and commenters who make this blog so great.
Just for fun, here’s a link to a movie on Hulu, Ronin.

I’m thankful for Family, Country and the Men/Women of the Armed Forces overseas that keep us safe.
I’m also thankful that our team has the day off and I can eat my turkey in peace.
Thanks to TJB and all that you do to keep the fans in touch. Let’s go Jets!
im thankful we are not playing today so we cant lose
I am thankful that LEON is doing well and is on track to be back next year!
I’m thankful that Bassett continues to give us the best Jets site on the planet. Happy Thanksgiving BB!
I’m extremely thankful for friends, family, a great life, and the New York Jets…you think we have it bad? We don’t! Look no further than Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, etc, etc, etc…Happy Thanksgiving Jets fans!!!
could be worse we could still have mangini
I want to give thanks for being born into a country where I am allowed to express dissent, and for being provided a forum to express that dissent on the internet.
I am well aware that born contrarians such as myself are muted, punished, tortured and killed in many countries around the world, and I never forget that the Founders of the USA provided me with the freedom to express my opinions.
Of course, I want to thank those that served and serve our country for giving their all to protect that freedom. Without them, we are nothing.
On a much lesser note (how could it not be?) I want to thank those that create and maintain this blog as well as the commenters for keeping it civil unlike many other sites I have visited.
My goal is always to stimulate intelligent discussion, and I appreciate those that disagree even more than those that agree, it takes two points of view to form excellent debate.
Lastly, my thanks to the Jets players, past and present, that emulate the values discussed above and who all have made it a privilege to root for this team all these years despite the frustration. Mostly, we have won and lost with class, there have been very few true jerks on this team over the years.
Like Ranger fans, Jets fans will truly appreciate the victory when our team eventually hoists the Lombardi Trophy once again.
Now, if we win the next three to get to 7-6 and a few other teams crash and burn and the Colts have clinced by the time they play us and the Falcons can not handle the cold and he Bengals clinch before week 17…………………
FT nicely said
I am grateful that Kerry Rhodes has the time during the day before they play NE to post on Twitter about 50 times. Seriously, he was on Twitter Nov 21 from Luke 2pm to 730 at night.
Should have been lifting weights.
Special thanks to TJB. Bassett and the boys make the season fun…as fun as 4-6 can be that is.
Also thankful that Kerry Rhodes’s twitter account has been un-touched since Saturday.
I am thankful that even if the Jets give up on me, I still have modeling. You know us athletes can’t just worry about playing we have to think about what we’re gonna do once we’re done playing
Agreed with Drew. Thanks to Bassett & Co. on a doing such a great job. You give us fans a great outlet for emotions good and bad. I also probably wouldn’t get through a full day of work without at least giving the site a few views (let’s be honest, a ton of views). You make a tough year like this tolerable. Thanks for everything. And also thank God for Nick Mangold. Yes, he is my man crush. Anyone who tweets about drinking beers and talks to espn about assasin’s creed 2 is more than enough.
I am thankful that I have Sundays free since I gave up watching THE SAME OLD JETS. By the way, if you want to do something other than watch the JETS lose, go to the movies and see The Blind Side. A Great movie.
I am thankful to have a happy and healthy family most importantly and to be employed in this horrible economy. I just wish Kerry Rhodes felt the same. The Jets gave him this huge contract (let me reiterate contract!!) and he says ” If they have a problem with me modeling or acting, then you pay my bills”. I think they are already. What would you be doing if you were not an athlete? Modeling and acting? Wake up and take a look at yourself! Dig deep and remember what is important! Hard work not hard feelings!!!!
I am thankful not to be mathmatically eliminated before Thanksgiving.
I’m thankful I get to root for a high character team. I spend my days remembering guys like Chrebet and happy to know there will be more good guys to look forward to watching in the future.
I have to say I’m very thankful for TJB!!! No other site has as much content nor character as this site does :)
I’m thankful we didn’t draft Sanch- damn it
I’m thankful Mangini isnt our coach…
Rex’s new code system
What did we sign a Navaho Code Talker?
i am thankful that the giants are no better this year …..however, a giant win would have helped us last night
I am going to be VERY Un-thankful is Cowher ends up in Buffalo, what a coaching division that would be:
Note this report indicates Cowher “strongly considered NY” last year, a far cry from the reports at the time and since:
http://www.wkbw.com/sports/bills/71986637.html
I’m thankful the Ed(itor) has freed up his Sundays. Now if he could just free up the time he wastes here we’d all be happy.
Many, many reports in the last year stated Cowher had no interest in the Jets job. Now one unnamed source disagrees. People will believe what they choose to believe. I’m prone to go with many sources over one.
In either case, I’m not a big Cowher fan anyway. As many others have said, I’m prone to credit his relative success to the organization over his coaching. I only hope that if he goes to Buffalo they give him total control.
I’m quite happy with our current head coach and look forward to the next few years with him at the helm.
StvDoe, Good post, all-around.
