  1. 2 things..
that Post article about Clemens and his roll with Sanchez is a good read…

and it got me thinking.. If there’s any team who might take a chance on him, and have it work.. It might just be those Carolina Panthers.. I can see him starting for them next year, and succeeding.. Call me crazy.. they’ll be looking for a QB, and KC will be looking for a starting gig..

  2. GRAMMAR POLICE ALERT: Alliteration is when words in a phrase start with the same letter. I think the word you wanted to use is onomatopoeia. (I did have to look up how to spell that.)

  3. Rhodes: “wha happen?”

Ryan: “you are benched this week”

    Rhodes: “s’okay still getting paid”

Ryan: “better invest what ya got now”

    Rhodes: “its all good”

Ryan: “Ya whatever now get out of my office, Cleveland Rocks!”

    Rhodes: ?

    Tweet Tweet take a seat.

  4. James, That’s going to be hard to follow.

When I read the post, where it said that there would be a great video on Rhodes and his benching, I thought I would be watching a video of his missed tackles, poor coverage, and his lining up twenty five yards off the line of scrimmage. Lord knows, after this season, there is a huge highlight film of his exploits. I don’t know what happened to Rhodes. He has forgotten how to play football. Watching him throw his body at people, when trying to tackle them, was embarassing. Eric Smith can only be an improvement.

  5. Harvlis let’s be clear here, Smith is not an improvement here. His ranged is at best 70% of what Rhodes is and he goes for the big hit every time which causes him to miss tackles and mis-time his plays. This is a message to Rhodes to put up or shut up, this isn’t to make our defense a better unit.

  6. Brendan, You can’t do much worse than having no defensive statistics after ten games. Range is only one phase of the game. I’ll take tackling over range, any day.

  7. agree with Harvlis — not a slam dunk that there will be a drop off with the change to Smith — haven’t seen many plays from Rhodes this year where he showed “reckless abandon” a la Smith’s hit on Boldin(penalty in the endzone resulting in facial fracture) — players that have more tools don’t necessarily play better. If tools determined who plays, guys like Chrebet would never get a sniff in the NFL.
