The Bills Wide Receivers, two guys named Lee Evans and Terrell Owens, are feeling better about their passer since Ryan Fitzpatrick has been starting for the team. The team likes to take some more risks downfield than Trent Edwards ever did.
… Fitzpatrick has begun to establish a deep passing attack by getting Owens more involved. After 366 yards receiving in his first nine games, Owens has 293 in his past two. That includes a season-best 197-yard outing against the Jaguars, in which Owens caught a 98-yard touchdown pass.
“With Fitz back there, there are opportunities. And I feel like I’m a part of the offense,” Owens said. “Whereas I know earlier, those feelings and those opportunities, I didn’t feel that they were there.”
Owens went further by questioning whether Fitzpatrick should’ve had the chance to start sooner.
“Obviously, with us having the record we were having, just say if he was out there throughout the year and doing that?” Owens said. “He’s putting us in the best position for the team to succeed.”
With a 2-2 record as a starter this season, Fitzpatrick also rallied the Bills to a 16-13 overtime win over the Jets on Oct. 18, taking over after Edwards was knocked out by a concussion.
Fitzpatrick’s overall numbers aren’t all that impressive. He’s 73 of 134 (54 percent) for 905 yards, with four touchdowns and seven interceptions. But he’s won the trust of the Bills receivers by attempting deep passes and throwing into coverage – something Edwards resisted.
“He’s definitely not afraid to take a shot. And he trusts what he sees,” receiver Lee Evans said. “He has that type of savvy-ness about him, that leadership about him that you could just trust the guy.”
Sounds like it could be another big week for the secondary to me …
Of course, Terrell Owens shows no loyalty to those that have stuck out their neck for him. Classic.

we all know revis is the man and lets be real here the problem will be stopping lee evans because lito will be on him. and to be honest im not happy with his play this year…ya he’s been injured but im just not sold.

levi, when you said tomorrow, i got pretty excited. Thursday is already tomorrow…I love it.

Strickland and Lowrey are out for tomorrow. So is Robert Turner on the offensive line. Because of that, the Jets have signed Mathew Mulligan off the Practice squad (from Newsday).
Tomorrow nights game will probably be secondary to the T.O and Revis matchup.

haha…I wish I could have picture in picture with one screen containing a single camera that follows Revis on every play. Other screen can be the standard TV broadcast.

Unfortunately I think you’re right: the real danger Thursday night is Lito on Lee Evans. Maybe the best thing we can do is double Evans, or at the very least give Lito some safety help– maybe Rhodes can earn his way back into Rex’s good graces by helping LS shut down LE. . .

Better bring your popcorn T.O. cause baby lockdown is coming to town. No doubt Revis will limit Owens tomorrow night, but I would expect Lee Evans to have a big game as he always seems to burn the Jets, especially with Lito and Drew Coleman in coverage.

Ben,
Lee Evans has alot of talent but, he averages less than 40 yards a game. He has one game over 70 yards. In comparison, I believe that Cotchery has seven games over 70. I wouldn’t be that worried.
I have always felt that the receiver has the advantage. T.O. usually has a big advantage. We need an aggressive game by the defensive line, as we had this past Sunday, for Revis to do his thing.

TO just trying to hype up the bills passing attack…. not surprising… If the jets can apply the kind of pressure we all know they are capable of its going to be a long day for mr fitz…. first things first tho we gotta stop the run and fred jackson is playing nicely

I think that after the game people are going to even be wondering if T.O. played yesterday with Revis on him. I know ill be bringing my popcorn for the game.

Yeah, I think some of you are getting carried away with this lee evans and lito matchup……..evans is not that great and lito is not that bad, geez.
-
Or if it makes you guys feel better, we’ll just throw revis on evans and have lito cover owens, in which lito has usually got the best of him in their past matchups
-
Lito should be covering Owens because of the familiarity.
Evans is the better receiver at this stage.

Kyle,
TO has better stats in every category except TD’s. Revis faced him already this year once and faced him when he was in Dallas, so he’s had some experience with him. Evans is all speed, and Lito can run with him. Owens is more of a complete receiver and we need Revis to keep the bigger, stronger Owens from continuously moving the chains.

Sorry, but I think Lito IS that bad. It’s easy to forget just how bad he is because he’s missed so many games. But it’s been clear all along, Lito can’t keep his hands off the receiver, can’t play the ball, can’t cover. As far back as the preseason, it was obvious (and I said so on these threads back then), Lito is the weakest link this defense has.

I see a T.O. meltdown coming tomorrow. I think he will do some fighting on the sideline when Revis shuts him down.
