Film Room: Bills Postgame

by Bassett on December 4th, 2009 at 2:47 pm

Here’s some postgame analysis from Custer, Schein and Lucas after the win last night on the SNY Jets Post Game Live show. In the clip, the guys talk about Mark Sanchez’s knee, playoff contention and much more.

Who are we rooting for this Sunday?

  2. avatar steve spano says:

NE, INdy, Oak, KC, Houst., GB on MNF.

Better to see Miami lose because the Division is improbable.

  3. avatar reality jet fan says:

Ray lucas must have played without a helmet.

  4. avatar Rich says:

What’s the over/under on the number of times that Lucas will call the football “The Rock”?

  5. avatar greg sec 130 says:

Francesa is convinced we root for Miami because he thinks the division is more likely, even tho NE is 3 games up on us in the loss column with 6 to go. I think we all disagree.

The only reason he’s not wrong is that Miami is almost certainly going to lose another game anyway, so why not pull NE a game closer just in case Brady gets hurt, or they collapse.

I changed my mind too regarding the Mia/NE game.
We have to root for the Dolphins because of their brutal end of the year schedule.
We need Hou to beat Jax and the Titans to beat the Colts so that we can create a 3 way tiebreaker just in case.

  7. avatar greg sec 130 says:

yes ronnie — getting houston and/or tenn to tie us at the end would be huge, to possibly knock out other teams in their own division first.

  8. avatar Bent says:

There’s a logic to what ronnie says…are the dolphins really a threat to go 9-7?

Who have they beaten? Tampa, Buffalo, Carolina and the Jets twice (and according to their fans, the Jets suck…)

    I can’t “root” for either.

  9. avatar brian311 says:

its really a toss up because the pats have carolina and buffalo left (2 automatic wins). they will win 1 out of the other 3 remaining games.

  10. avatar Bent says:

It’s a shame points differential isn’t the first tie breaker (the way that “goal difference” is the first tie breaker in soccer).

Other than the 4 division leaders:

    1. Balt – +69
    2. Pitt – +44
    3. Jets – +41

They’re within range of the top two and comfortably ahead of all the other wild card contenders for this tie breaker (of course they’ve got another game to make up on Denver).

I guess the NFL would never do this because perhaps it encourages running up the score. Does it though – or would a team not take risks if they thought they could worsen their win?

Practically pointless to even discuss, but it was an interesting insight into the fact that the Jets have maybe been better than their record overall.
