Two days after signing OT Ryan McKee (6-6/291/Southern Miss), the Jets have waived the undrafted free agent. McKee was signed to the active roster from the practice squad on Dec. 12 after being signed to the practice squad on Sept. 7, 2009. McKee was originally signed with the Jets on May 1, 2009.
Obviously, there’s an open roster spot now for the team. Stay tuned to see who the team brings in. Although it seems like a long-shot, it is worth noting that both LB Cato June (Bears) and CB Brian Witherspoon (Jaguars) were both cut today by their teams.

Bent,
For them to cut McKee two days after taking him from the practice squad shows that they had no idea what they had, while he was on the practice squad. They originally signed him in May but, had him on the practice squad since September 7. Therefore, he was on the practice squad for two months but, it took them two days of being up with the regular squad for them to realize he should be cut.

RB Chauncey Washington off the Dallas PS
What are the Jets thinking ?
A) CW can return some kicks
B) Another weapon for Sanchez, and a USC guy, gets lonely on the East Coast
C) Shonn you fumbled again, we are bringing in competion
D) Danny Woodhead might be a slot receiver, but he is not an NFL RB
E) Potential hedge , on Leons Health
F) Thomas great season, but you didn’t think we were going to pay that roster bonus, did you ? please

Who is in charge of the talent on the practice squad? What are they doing, signing players based on their physical dimensions. It seems like, if you don’t start for them, they don’t know your abilities. They need to do a better job, in this area. We need serious back-up O-Linemen.
