Time to Stuff the Ballot Box!!

by Bassett on December 14th, 2009 at 7:46 pm

O.K. It’s time to get serial.

We can all agree that Darrelle Revis is having one of the best years of a cornerback we as Jets fans ever seen. Other players, like Mangold, Brick, Thomas Jones and others are also worth consideration.

So, from now until the end of Pro Bowl voting, we’re going to bombard you with annoying YouTube video, DAILY until we see fans move the needle on Darrelle Revis and his Pro Bowl voting. Yes, that’s right we’re going to crap away precious space on the main page until you vote our precious Darrelle to the tropical paradise that is Hawaii disease ridden drugport that is Miami.

Is there a web site that shows who is leading in the pro bowl voting?

  2. avatar wentworth says:

Do we really want Revis to play a week before he plays in the superbowl?

  3. avatar Green Lantern says:

HAHA. Im stuffing as fast as I can dont rush me Bassett.

  4. avatar Bent says:

Of course it usually hurts the team from a cap perspective to have a bunch of players in the pro bowl…but it looks like an uncapped year is coming, so go nuts!

  5. avatar starz31 says:

I just hope he wins the defensive player of the year award. Revis AFC. Woodsen NFC.

  6. avatar Green Lantern says:

Guys What Is Mark’s Rookie Of The Year chance’s looking like? Besides Percy, and Maybe Moreno I don’t see how he isn’t the clear cut winner.

  7. avatar Harlan Lachman says:

    1. Revis not making the team and Faneca making it would point out the stupidity of fans voting for pro bowl. Just like it would have exposed the BCS if Colt had held the ball just a bit longer or the kicker had missed the field goal, exposing stupidity is no bad thing.

    2. If he did not make the first team, there is a chance he would not go as a back up which eliminates the chance he could get hurt in a completely stupid, meaningless game.

Do not stuff the box. Save our CBs

  8. avatar Bent says:

lantern – you said it. Harvin. Sanchez won’t win unless he has a miracle three weeks.

Faneca doesn’t deserve it but Brick does. There’s no chance Revis isn’t selected as a backup and any other obvious snubs will probably get there when everyone in the superbowl pulls out.

  9. avatar Ben Nevis says:

Yes, vote for Revis and Thomas Jones and Brick and Mangold, but we also need to

    V O T E

    for

    J. L E O N H A R D

    and

    D. H A R R I S ! ! !

  10. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    And don’t forget to

    V O T E

    for

    T. R I C H A R D S O N !

  11. avatar Spiels says:

Did anyone notice that Calvin Pace is not on the ballot for OLB while our boy Vernon Gholston is? LOL

  12. avatar EastSide says:

    Vote Brandon Moore!
Also, isn’t there a coaches and players vote? If the public doesn’t vote Rev in you’d imagine they would.

  13. avatar nyjets90 says:

yo David Harris needs to be in that Pro Bowl this year. hes the most underrated player in the game.

  14. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    Spiels-

I think Calvin isn’t on the ballot because he missed the first four games.

    But, yes, it’s ridiculous.

  15. avatar Green Lantern says:

If its possible for Matt Ryan to get it over Chris Johnson, I think Sanchize can get it with a couple more good weeks.
As long as he avoids multiple interception games and we get into the playoffs.

  16. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    Green Lantern-

I think the only way Sanchez gets into the Probowl is if we get into the Playoffs at 10-6.

    Otherwise, no way.

  17. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    Sorry, Green Lantern-

    That should have been:

I think the only way Sanchez gets Rookie of the Year is if we get into the Playoffs at 10-6.

    Otherwise, no way.

  18. avatar Give Leon The Damn Ball says:

i’ve never watched more than 5 minutes of the probowl..even last year when the jets had 7 players go, i could care less

the probowl is football minus the intensity and violence….it aint football

  19. avatar m eazii says:

Us fans don’t get to vote for defensive player of the year, I can care less who gets in the pro bowl, we know how many pro bowlers we really have on this team! I just want revis to get defensive player of the year! He defenitely deserves it!

  20. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    Give Leon the Damn Ball-

I agree: I can’t watch the Probowl either. As a game, it stinks, for exactly the reasons you gave.

But I still think it’s good for our players to be recognized for their accomplishments–especially Revis and TJ and Harris and Brick and Nick and Leonard (who played the same friggin week he had screws put in his hand!)–and, unfortunately, being selected to the Probowl is one of the most significant ways in which a player can get single out for what he’s done on the field.

  21. avatar Bent says:

I agree but guys like jared Allen, sharper or dumervil might have a better chance if the jets miss the playoffs. Sharper has to have the inside track, especially if the saints go 16-0.

  22. avatar KC fan club (WOJF) says:

    Jay Feely!!!

Remember, even though they tell you to vote for more than one player, a true ballot stuffer will vote ONLY for the stuffee at the position.

I voted for Tony R, TJ, Moore, Brick, Mangold, Pouha( because I could), Ellis, Harris, REVIS, Leonhard, Wallace Wright (agains because I could) and JAY FEELY.

    No one else.

Pace not on the ballot, is it punishment for his drug positive?

  23. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    KC fan club-

Yeah, I voted for the same guys you did (and did so several times), but the ones I voted for many many times were TJ, Richardson, Brick, Nick, Leonhard, Revis and Harris–because they absolutely deserve it.

As for Pace, as I said above, my guess is he wasn’t on the ballot because he missed the first four games of the season.

  24. avatar rasmusbach says:

revis should be a lock with the coverage he’s gotten from the media this year and richardson’s got a great shot with the people on the FB ballot, but other than that i don’t see any other jets getting in this year, and in my opinion only harris and moore deserving of an invite

  25. avatar Jeff says:

    All-Pro on our team:

Darrelle Revis- best corner in the NFL

Nick Mangold – best center in the league

David Harris – at the ILB position in the AFC, only other one close would be Lewis, I dont see anyone else making as big an impact

    Pro-Bowlers
Jim Leonard – with Reed, Polamalu missing significant play time, Leonard has to be considered for being one of the leaders in our top pass defense.

D’Brick Ferguson- has improved by leaps and bounds, might be 2nd or 3rd tackle taken

Thomas Jones- has carried our team the whole year, ever since Leon got hurt

Richardson- blocker for the league’s top rushing attack

Shaun Ellis- has really anchored our line, and has created great pressure, it would be a shame if he didnt get in.

  26. avatar rasmusbach says:

oups, i agree on ellis, but he still won’t get in

  27. avatar James in TN says:

I have voted for the above several times, but alas it is a joke. I hate watching the Probowl. Now if the probowl was the players bowling while chugging beers, that would be must see TV. None of that PRO AM stuff from the bowling tour just players having fun bowling.

And..The NFL and the official beer sponsor could give money to their charities based on the head to head wins. Or team to team. Whatever, it would be better than the stinking ProBowl as it is now.

  28. avatar Ben Nevis says:

    James in TN-

I agree: almost anything would be better than watching the Probowl (even though I voted for the same Jets as everybody else on this thread, and did so many times), but BOWLING?!

That’s more boring than watching NASCAR or fishing.

But, yes, the beer might help. I’d watch if the players were outrageously drunk. But then it would be fun to watch smashed players doing almost anything, even if they were trying to fish. . .

The players would have to be

  29. avatar JesusRevis says:

    Players that should make it:

Revis, Harris, Mangold, Ferguson, Richardson, Jones, Ellis

    Players that will make it

    Revis, Mangold, Jones, Faneca
