Big ups to Jose Barbosa, his brother & cousin who took a tour of the new Jets stadium and put up a video on YouTube of the place. We’ve got more photos from Jose in a bit, but our man Jose sent us so many (72!!), he gone and broke my gmail account.
All I can say is … DAMN. The new stadium looks amazing. Expensive, no question, but amazing all the same. It’s going to be another jewel in the crown to lure free agents to the team.
Hat tip to Jose and his fam for sending this on.

its me jose barbosa. AKA jlb0183, i went yesterday and it was crazy, i actually wanted to buy season tickets, this new home is super fan friendly, you can actually stand right behind the Jets and the aways team, its only like 10 feet away. the stadium is 2.5 times bigger that the current one, there are bars and restuants all over the staduim, the Giants and jets have there own seperate locker rooms. so theres 4 locker rooms in total, this stadium is amazing, never will forget this experince

I like the way the mezz and upper decks are stacked steeply and there’s angles at the corners. Gives the place a very closed-in feel and should make the stadium nice and loud when the crowd gets rocking.

Looks great, cant wait to be there

Looks great

New Jets stadium? Strange, I thought they were going to share with the Giants for another 99 years. Guess I missed something.

I have to say, just from all the pictures, designs and tour videos that I’ve seen, the first thing that strikes me is the the massive size of the stadium. It looks big on the outside, but sometimes that doesn’t translate internally and it definitely did here. But what impressed me the most was that despite that, it still seems intimate and seems like the stands are almost on top of another (in a good way) and almost on top of the fiel. I can just imagine the whole place packed, in sort of a Roman Coliseum, screaming and rocking like Led said. It definitely is no Giants Stadium.

One thing I’d like to know, and I brought this up to Bassett at the Pats game… where’s the press box?!
-
THERE ARE PRESS BOXES, AND THEY ARE VERY BIG, THERES 2 LEVELS OF PRESS BOXES, DIFF PRICE RANGE
-
@ BERNIE, THEY STILL ARE GOIN TO SHARE A STADIUM , ITS JUS NOT GOIN TO BE CALLED GIANTS STADIUM NOMORE. THANK GOD

I never understood why they are replacing the old stadium. I guess having spent so much time at Shea Stadium, always thought Meadowlands was great. I sit in 300 level, really only complaints I have are lines for bathrooms, slightly narrow concourse, getting out of parking lot after game, long wait and disorganization for clearing security before game, food sucks, wait for bathrooms at halftime. Other than the parking lot exit issue and security wait issue, none really drives me batty .
Couple of concerns I have:
- How many more urinals will they have.
- It looks like middle section is much bigger (including luxury box )now, how much worse is the view from the upper deck given the higher new stadium.
- Are the concourses wider than old stadium
- Are the concourses open to the field, from video it looks like only lower level is open.
- Will there be better food at the local concession stand, or will we have to walk to some special food court for good food.
- Is it still a quick single escalator ride to upper deck from ground.
- Will they open up more entrance gates to stadium so we don’t have to be herded like cattle and take 30 minutes to get felt up by security upon entrance. -
I still hear there are 20,000 seats for sale for 2010. Also how much better would the stadium hav been with a dome for bad weather. There are very few seats under cover.
So I guess I will have to watch Eagles games next year on my brand new TV that I bought instead of paying Woody The Weasel’s extortion pricing.
-
TO ADAM, I WENT TO THE TOUR AND I REMEBER THEM SAYIN THAT THE FOOD AND BAR ARE MUCH CLOSER TO THE SEATS, AND THE ENTRANCE IS VERY WIDE, ONCE U WALK INTO THE STADIUM U CAN AUTOMATICALLY SEE THE FIELD, THE FOOD IS UPGRADED, THEY HIRED A CHEF TO CONTROL EVERYTHING, THEY HAVE LOUNGE AREAS WHERE U CAN WATCH THE GAME IN THE HALL WAY IF U LIKE, ITS A VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE STADUIM.
-
How much do the season tickets go for?
-
DEPENDS WHERE U SIT, BUT SERIOUSLY. I WALKED THROUGH THE WHOLE STADIUM , AND THERS NOT REALLY A BAD SEAT. EVEN WAY UP HIGH. THE STADIUM IS BUILT TO BE UPRIGHT AND THAT WAY ITS VERY CLOSE TO THE FIELD NOMATTER WHERE U SIT
-
Love love love it, , about time!!! Thanks Jose for the videos (Shibby!!), GO JETS!!
-
What’s the cheapest price for seasn tickets though? I am interested but low on cash at the moment!
-
I REMEBER SEEING SOMETHING FOR 300 SOMETHING FOR A YEAR BUT ITS FOR THE REST OF UR LIFE
-
Don’t forget to add the cost of the PSLs
-
Can someone plz tell me what this psl crap is all about…u never been to a jets game until this year and loved the experience and am interested in season tickets but how does this work…I know most of you guys are season ticket holders so I would appreciate if some1 helps me understand how it works plz
-
Looks amazing but I still think it’s ridiculous that there will be no dome….Is the sole reason the cost??? Sanchez and Manning would both perform way better in a dome stadium…
-
The stadium looks sick and massive. Very excited to get in that place for a big game next year.
Always nice to have Ed(itor)’s take on the stadium…lol
-
m eazii,
as of now, the cheapest seats you can buy cost $4,000 one time payment for the PSL and $120 per game ticket.. These are lower level or mezzanine end zone seats. The PSL fee can be financed over a number of years. (5 or 15 year plan.)
Prices go as high as 25K for the PSL and $700 per game ticket.
All non PSL seats are already sold.
So, basically, if you need to know how much they cost, you probably can’t afford them.
-
Damn, your damn right I can’t afford 25k a year, but 4k maybe but those seats suck….I need to hit the lotto man…im just better off to going to whatever game for free when my job gives me tickets
-
Jose,
DEJA DE ESTAR GRITANDO, CO~NO~!!!
lower-case letters, brother… please!
Aside from that minor nosehair, outstanding job!
-
Yea, I am still baffled that we dont have a dome. I understand not having a dome in some places. But really the location of the stadium causes terrible winds to sway inside and I dont want to see another game like the one against Buffalo where our Californian QB is not used to the cold and winds.
I wonder if anyone picked up on it? Heck, ever since Ben Graham has played in a dome he has all of a sudden become one of the top punters in the league.
-
Important Question: Is the new field turf or grass? if so what kind (of turf…or grass?).
football should be played on grass! better for the knees! better for the aesthetics!
looks like turf in the video to me =(
-
Its turf, the best turf in the league wit over a million of small rubber pillets to make it softer and look natural
-
Woody isnt my favorite guy, but GOD DANG it the place looks great.
Just hope it gets loud bc Rex and our D is going to need it for the next decade to punish opposing offenses

What color are the seats?
From far it looks like green but up close its like black.
