How Many Official NFL Footballs Do You Have? OK, I’ll Take Them All
Bart Scott, who potentially last week in the Bucs game cost the Jets a shutout, and said to avoid punishment from Rex Ryan, plotted to avoid it, telling Brian Custer on SNY that “you know when you get in trouble in school, and you hurry up and go home and go to sleep so your mom won’t whoop you? I’m gonna do that.”
Well, no matter how much sleep he tried to get, Bart’s been whooped by Rex ‘Big Momma’ Ryan.
Coach Rex Ryan announced on Monday that there would be “ramifications” regarding Bart Scott’s personal foul in Sunday’s game, a penalty that cost the Jets their second shutout of the season.
Yesterday, Scott’s bill came due. Ryan, who traditionally gives his entire defense game balls for a shutout, will have Scott take care of those duties.
In 1980 the US Hockey Coach Herb Brooks had captain, Mike Eruzione, who he could pick on (basically to scare the other players on the team), and on this team Rex has his Eruzione, Bart Scott.
You can’t help but love the guy for his passion, his humor and his locker room presence for this defense, and with the contract he just got, buying twenty odd footballs and passing them out to his defensive brethren seems a good one, and is team-building too. I just would like to see Scott walking out of a Modell’s with four shopping carts worth of footballs.
