(whispering)
The ho-ho-horror …. of not sending Darrelle Revis to the Pro Bowl.
We promised that we’re going to make posts, once a day, everyday until the end of voting (12/21) to badger you into stuffing the ballot box for Darrelle Revis (and Jets friends) to get them to the Pro Bowl.
We got a little present for ya, play that tape, will ya?

“A dream, a dream of a Pro Bowl where players who go, actually deserve it. I stayed up all night knowing that one of this generations best corners won’t go as a consensus starter. That’s my dream, that’s my nightmare.”
Each day, we’re getting closer, closer to the source. It’s our turn to send Revis on a mission up river to Miami, to chop off the head of deranged Corner Champ Bailey, never to return to a world so black and white, never to return to a world the same as when he set out.

I still think its unfair Calvin Pace isn’t even on the ballot.

Revis is a lock to make it. He will be the leading vote getter by players and coaches.

A little off topic–It’s still early, but does anyone think that Thomas Jones is a HOF candidate? He needs a few more big years, but you see stats that he’s among the top RBs the last few years.

@JesusRevis
Exactly. To send Revis on fan votes alone would be a nice message to let him know we appreciate his game but in the end it’s probably not necessary. Last I heard he was in 3rd place? I imagine outside of the Broncos themselves Bailey won’t garner very many Pro Bowl votes.
I think we really need to get people out for:
1) Brick- Has any player on the roster improved more than him? People unfamiliar with Jets football are still calling him a bust.
2) Harris- What would this defense look like with out our man in the middle?
3) TJ- The David Harris of the offense. Reliable, durable and a play maker. Also a documented spark plug for this team’s emotion.
4) Mangold- The power behind the power. Must be one of the smartest players in the NFL. Rarely makes mental errors even with a rookie signal caller.
5) Leonhard and Moore- Our two long shots. Two players who have fought against the odds and critics. Hard workers who play at a high level every week without any fanfare or accolades. Let’s try to change that. -
TJ was a backup his first 4 season in the league. although he has put together as good of a 4-5 year stretch as any back in the league as of late, he just wont have enough yards and TDs racked up for HOF consideration.
although i am happy with that – because of the fact that he was a backup his first 4 years in the league means there is less NFL mileage on him now. he is having a great season, especially for 30, and hopefully 1 or 2 more

Let’s get Curtis’ #28 on the Jets wall first!
Altho I think Freeman and Wesley should go up first. Maybe (yes) Gastineau and Leahy too.
-
Don’t worry- Revis will be making pro bowls for years to come- long past wehn he deserves it. See Favre, B, Bailey, C, Vinatieri, A, and Faneca, A for just a few examples.

Hasn’t Martin’s number already been retired by the Jets? I get too worked up about Gastineau to be objective. IMO, it’s a travesty that Klecko’s number has been retired and not Gastineau’s. It’s like retiring Lou Gehrig’s number, but leaving Babe Ruth off because he was a drunken womanizer. Klecko was the heart and soul of the Sack Exchange, but Gastineau was the star.

Mangold should be the unanimous All-Pro center in the NFL. He was the best center last year, but got beat by Mawae. This year he deserves the nod as the best All-around center in the NFL. Thank god All-Pro status is decided by writers and sports analysts instead of fans.
Harris should make the Pro Bowl also, aside from Lewis he is having a suberb season. Him and D’Brick. Ellis on a smaller note

Bassett-
Thanks for doing this. Every day I see this item on the blog, I vote again (and again and again and again) for Revis, TJ, Richardson, Leonhard and Harris, and sometimes Brick and Nick and Ellis as well.
