New York Jets Player Awards
The Jets announced their Player awards today and it isn’t surprising to see Darrelle Revis take the MVP. Here are the rest of the recipients below and a brief overview of their achievements. For more information you can visit the Jets official website.
Darrelle Revis was given the Curtis Martin Team MVP Award which recognizes his great, fierce play on the field.
For a second year in a row, Thomas Jones has been awarded with the Dennis Byrd Award for his model behavior on the field. Jones is always taking part in team activites and always encourages rookies and practice squaders to prepare themselves.
D’Brickashaw Ferguson who has been part of the Jets solid offensive line was honored with the Marty Lyons Award for his contributions to the community through his own foundation as well as the Eat Right, Move More program. D’Brick has been recognized as the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award by the NFL as well.
James Dearth received the Kyle Clifton “Good Guy” award after being voted by the staff who proclaim Dearth is one of the most respectful guys you’ll find in the locker room. Dearth is the first long snapper in the Jets 50 year history to receive an award.
David Harris would receive the Ed Block Courage Award after coming back from a groin injury he sustained midseason last year to lead the NFL’s number one defense with 132 tackles.
Revis should’ve won all the awards.
congrats to all of them. The walter payton man of the year award sure sounds like a good one. I did’nt realize D’Brick was that involved. Good job.
