After losing Rex Ryan-favorite safety Keith Fitzhugh to the Baltimore Ravens (who signed Fitzhugh to active duty), the Jets have replaced him with former Colt safety Brannon Condren.
The Jets signed safety Brannon Condren to their practice squad. Early in the week, they lost safety Keith Fitzhugh from their practice squad. He was signed to the Baltimore Ravens regular roster. Not only does Condren fill that practice squad spot, but he can also help the Jets prepare for the Colts, the team that drafted him in 2007 out of Troy.
Like Leberfeld said not only does Condren fill the empty spot on the practice squad but he may also provide the team with vital information for the matchup with Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon though he was only there in 2007 so I’m not so sure how much good the information will do New York. Merry Christmas, Mike Pettine … maybe.
I was also able to dig this up hidden under the “Tough Task” article from NYJ.com. Rex Ryan talks about losing Fitzhugh and the courtesy Baltimore showed when inquiring about the safety.
The Green & White also lost undrafted free agent S Keith Fitzhugh to Baltimore, Ryan’s former team. But Ryan said there was no animosity with the Ravens. For one thing, signing Fitzhugh from the Jets’ practice squad to their 53-man roster is perfectly NFL-legal. For another, the Ravens asked.
“They’re going to know our guys are well-coached. We’ve got Dennis Thurman and Mike Pettine coaching that defense, so that’s always a possibility,” Ryan said of losing a P-squander to Baltimore, then added that GM Ozzie Newsome “gave us the courtesy to let us know that was a definite possibility. If we want to make a different move on our roster, we could’ve. That’s just professional courtesy from Ozzie and John Harbaugh.
“I wish Fitzhugh well. He’s a great kid,” Ryan said. “But you’ve got to look at your roster. We’re blessed to have four really good safeties.”

1st of all, Merry Christmas Jets Nation. 2nd of all, i will miss Keith Fitzhugh. but i believe Condren is just a little bit better

I hope this move doesn’t tick off the Colts in any way.
