I am just glad we have the opportuinity to make it to the playoffs. Would anyone here honestly believe we would have a shot if the Mangina was still here?

Rex has done a great job, Schotty has been piss poor as usual.

Overcoming the loss of Leon and Jenkins has to be an accomplishment worth recognizing.

Go JETS!!!!!

There was a good post on another site basically saying the NFL wanted the Jets to win to have the NY market tuned in for week 17. I thought the same thing at the end of the game yesterday.

It happens all the time.

One more thing

Those inches and drops can be attributed to the fact that the Jets may not have sacked Peyton, but they hurried him, disrupted the timing and ball placement on those routes.

That was precisely the plan, Peyton is going to find the open man when blitzed, however the pressure disrupts the timing, making the Colts have to make great catches and throws to beat them

You cant have it both ways. The Jets forced overthrows and hurried decisions

I am the biggest Kool Aid drinking Green and White loving Jet fan there is and I agree with you 100%. Any talk of a rematch is premature.

That game was set up for Peyton and Co. It was inside on a fast surface, out of the elements of December. The Colts have been great at home since Peyton became Peyton. Extremely difficult to beat

The Jets did exactly what they needed to do, kept it close and physical enough just for Caldwell to decide that Peyton and Co played the number of snaps they needed to stay sharp

The Jets are not one of those teams that gets alot of calls go there way or alot of breaks. There have been games this season where questionable penalties have negated points, or mental errors more a result of the Jets beating themselves than the opponent, have led to crushing losses.

If the Jets got a break or Xmas present, its been long enough, they deserve it. They smelled blood and went for the jugular.

The true test will be this weekend. I am excited and pleased with the win over the Colts, but a win at home on primetime Sun nite will cement the Jets as being playoff worthy.

Cinncy is a carbon copy of the Jets just with better QB play. I think the Jets are better defensively, should be a great smashmouth game

Not saying Jets or their fans should be apologizing for anything- you just have to play your games and then let them "add em up" as Rex likes to say.

I will say, though, that you're delusional if you think the Jets were poised to win that game against Peyton Manning. He didn't have a scratch on him, was just a few inches/drops away from about 10 more points.

Good job to stay in the game so they could pull it out, but you gotta be kidding if you're licking your chops for a rematch. Let's take it one at a time.

Greg130, not to nitpic an improbable result but Jets would not make the playoffs should PIT tie MIA and everyone else loses, including themselves.

PIT would be the 5 seed at 8-7-1 and DEN would get the sixth seed over the JETs based on Strength of Victory, see my analysis way above somewhere.

A tie is as good as a win to PIT if every other team loses.

I agree 100%, he is RIDICULOUS at times. Just downright rude and obnoxious

Sometimes he says what has to be said and makes some good points, but when he disagrees with a person, even if the point in question is clearly debatable, he acts like a jerk

Francesa gave the Jets a 10% chance at the playoffs at 10-6 just two weeks ago, saying the Jets have NO tiebreakers. Well I'm curious -- exactly what games other than the Denver game vs Oakland was a major upset in the last two weeks... none of them, and even if Denver won that the Jets still get in at 9-7. 10% chance if 10-6?

He's a blow-hard who only checks crazy scenarios when he feels like it and when other people tell him they did the work and the Jets actually do have tiebreakers, he berates them -- like when he yelled at Ira for saying the Jets would beat the Steelers on common opponents if they both win out and he YELLED: how do you know common opponents before the season ends? Um, if they both win out tubby, you can pretty much figure that out.

I actually think Rex summed it up best "They beat 14 teams this year, they can play the game any damn way they want it"

As for Schottenhiemer, Im sorry but Ive reached the threshold with him. He got bailed out yesterday. They lose that game because we couldnt get in the end zone, he is out of the job. Callahan's the guy who put our running game in, every play of it.

Schotty's playcalling on the first 3 series was some of the worst looking offensive football Ive ever seen. When he actually called the game like a real NFL Off Coord, the Jets moved the ball. When he went to his patented Double WIng Reverse or Chuck N Duck, the results were what we have seen for 4 years.

I hate to beat a dead horse but those of you who have read my posts know that I am as positive and fair a Jet fan there is, but this guy sucks. I just think that this guy will lead Sanchez on a career of mediocrity, and that another guy could get more out of the kid. Schotty has some good plays sometimes, but after 4 years, a ray of hope or two is not enough when you stall drives with idiotic risky trick plays and your team is one of the worst red zone offenses since Paul Hackett
