Video: Jets Offense Introduced at JETS Stadium One Last Time

By Kirk Cassels on 06. Jan, 2010

Following up on a promise I made in the comments of yesterday’s posted video of Sunday night’s halftime show, I hope you enjoy the introduction of the 2009 Jets offensive starters as they took the field for the last time.

Just one question though, and perhaps my love of J Cotch is making me subjective, but does it feel weird to anyone else that #17 was introduced second-to-last (just before TJ) instead of #89?

What felt weirder was that he was introduced as #9.

I’m very happy for TJ. Even amid all the trade rumors and talk of contracts & dollars he was exceptional. He made a decision that this wasn’t going to impact himself or the team and brought his lunch pail to work everyday. The guy is a leader in every way and it’s great to see the fans embracing him as a true Jet. I always felt the fans were apprehensive to embrace the guy, maybe because we thought his days were numbered, but it seems like the fans really have taken to him. Whether it be his positive attitude, his lead-by-example persona, his workhorse qualities or something else, he resonates with the blue collar fans of the Jets. I hope we keep him (and think of how fun a TJ/War Machine/Little Leon trifecta would be to watch).

    Is it Saturday yet?

I just listened to this as I’m about to go to a meeting. I need to settle down a little.

Thats great respect to TJ right there. He really is cemented as our team captain.

Some players are very suspicious about the order in which they come out and some aren’t, so no. Maybe Edwards is used to being the penultimate one out and if he isn’t it messes with his chi.

This really IS TJ’s team. He is its heart; he is its soul. (Although the multi-colored car collection may hint at someone else being its taste maker… :-) )

Funny. They brought Greene in to be TJ’s replacement. Good for SG that Leon went down, or he’d still be telling guys about Iowa.

I believe TJ will be the first to tell us when it’s time to think of turning things over to someone else — and not before. Much like Curtis did.
