Bullitt fined for hit on Sanchez

by Weeks on January 30th, 2010 at 2:40 pm

Rex Ryan was visably upset when the referees didn’t call Melvin Bullitt’s late hit on Mark Sanchez and after Mike Pereira admitted there were missed calls, the league fined Bullit $5,000 on Friday.

On Friday, the league fined Bullitt $5,000 for the hit. The hit sent Jets coach Rex Ryan into a rage on the sideline and he later called the hit a “cheap shot.” Bullitt denied that there was malicious intent on the play, but told the Indianapolis Star that he understood why Ryan was upset.

“Five thousand dollars, that hurts,” Bullitt said. “I understand [Ryan] being mad because that’s his quarterback, but I didn’t try to hurt him. I was just playing football. I didn’t know if he had the ball or not. I was coming from behind.”

I believe Bullit when he said he didn’t intend to hurt Sanchez but the point of this is although there won’t be a perfect refereed game, they really should have called this I mean seriously you would have to be blind not to see this and in this case they were (and then had the nerve to call a holding penalty on New York, where is the justice!?).

Any feedback on my 1st Jets Mock is appreciated:

In my first mock for the Jets, I had a hard time deciding what was the bigger position of need in the front 7. Ultimately I felt like it would be easier for the Jets to get an impact OLB later on in the draft than a 3-4 DE:

Round 1, #29: Jared Odrick, 3-4 DE, Penn State, 6-5-301 – Here’s the playmaker at DE that the Jets need to complete their line. Rex Ryan’s defense is modeled after the Ravens, so this is your Haloti Ngata. If Odrick pans out next to Kris Jenkins and Sean Ellis, you have to call this one of the top lines in the NFL.

Round 2, #29: Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State, 5-10-190 – To me it’s a tossup between, Wilson, Brandon Ghee, and Parrish Cox. Wilson has the best technique and straight-line speed. Ghee has the most game, in-game speed, and more size. Cox has a lot of experience covering big time star receivers (useful for the guy that plays across from Darelle Revis.) I don’t think the Jets can go wrong with either but Lito Shepard has got to go play for Al Davis.

    Round 3, No Pick: XXX

    Round 4, No Pick: XXX

Round 5, #31: Myron Rolle, SS, Florida, 6-1.5-217 – While Jim Leonard is a real heady, Johnny-on-the-spot, physical safety, his lack of athleticism and size make him a liability in both aspects of the defense. A guy like Rolle would have been able to recover in time to stop that 1st touchdown to Austin Collie down the middle on Eric Smith’s blown coverage. Rolle gives you Leonard’s on-field intelligence in a bigger, stronger, faster body.

Round 6, #29: Chris McCoy, Middle Tennessee State, 3-4 OLB, 6-4-245 – If Rex Ryan could turn Bart Scott into starter, then he should be able to turn this guy into the second coming of Lawrence Taylor. Look at his numbers: 7 Sacks, 20.5 TFL. Small school, but you can’t deny the fact that McCoy had an telephone and set up in the backfield. Goodbye Brian Thomas?

Round 7, #29: Dennis Landolt, OT, Penn State, 6-4-310 – The jets are going to lose out on drafting a ready-made contributor at one position of need. (What do you want, I just gave you4 starters.) In this draft it is offensive lineman. Hopefully, Damien Woody still has another year in him while this guy develops into your starting LT.

    My Jets Rant:

Once again the refs screwed us. Didnt see replay of the holding penalty on us, but the fact is that it was a clear penalty of roughing sanchez- 15 yard penalty that they didnt call, and in-turn called a holding penalty on us that set the Jets back 10 yards when this all occurred on 1st down- making it 1st and 20, rather than off setting penalties(?) . I believe we had descent field position before this play/ penalty. This penalty on us causing it to be 1st and 20, took us out of this drive- our game plan of running the ball, causing us to have to punt- giving the ball back to Manning who was unstoppable at this time- letting the Colts put away this game for good on us.

I really would love to see what would of happened in this game if we stayed healthy and didnt have that B.S. call by the refs. Losing Strickland, Bart Scott limited, and Shonne Greene killed us. I love how some so called expects said- see what Manning did to the best defense in the NFL but forget to mention that we got a little banged up and that really hurt us. Greene by the way was the only RB that was practicing our seminole offensive package, so when he went down, that bag of tricks for our offense went out the window. TJ was hampered by a banged up knee- much slower and much less burst off the line than Greene; and when playing against a fast defense- when the OLine opens a hole up, someone else on that defense fills it quickly, with TJ being a step slow- couldnt get through that hole quick enough at times. Green was also doing very well running the ball until he got injured. He picked up good yards on his only couple of carries in the 2nd half, and in the second half is when he usually tires out the defense and breaks a big run. Love how the so called experts say look what the Colts Defense did to the best running game of the Jets, but leave out that Greene got injured and TJ was already banged up and slowed the last few weeks.

    @igs,
Obviously I like the Odrick and Rolle picks although I could see a team falling in love with Rolle’s athleticism, smarts and rumored amazing character. Plus there are a lot of teams that need help in the secondary as the NFL continues to be dominated by passing teams like the Chargers, Colts and Vikes.

Back to the Odrick pick, he provides rare size and ability that would enable him to work different gap schemes and positions along the DL.

Kyle Wilson intrigues me as he has speed, hands and ballhawk instincts. I am a bit concerned that he is only 5-10. Seems like 5-10 is no longer tall enough for the CB position if your name isn’t Darrelle Revis. If we lose Rhodes, our secondary starts too look a little too short.

  4. avatar igs says:

    Thanks for your input East,

I agree with you about the height issue. Gee and Cox have a leg up in that sense. I think Gee has a higher ceiling and may be gone, but if he goes I probably like him a little better than Wilson.

  5. avatar igs says:

    Bent,

I think you have a legitimate point. But jets still went above and beyond where they should have gone. While the defense is great, despite injuries, the defense showed itself to lack a player that can just take over a game, A Haloti Gnata, a James Harrison or Lamar Woodley, a Jared Allen, a Ray Lewis, a Hollywood henderson, lol, a Dan Klecko, ahhhhhh.

Another thing that got exposed – and I told you guys about this one – is how horrible Smith, Ihegdibo, and even Leonard are in coverage. If anyone was going to expose that it was Peyton Manning. Those things don’t have much to do with the play calls. I am hoping that Tanning-Bum will get some real play makers in here and guys can do more than overacheive.

  6. avatar jeff i says:

Igs – I think Kyle Wilson will go way before the 29th pick of the 2nd round.

  7. avatar igs says:

    Thanks for your response Jeff,

He may be gone, but if he does go, Cox or Gee will be there, or some talent will fall at another position. I don’t think Cox is much of a drop off from the other 2. They all could develop into shut down corners.

  8. avatar igs says:

Also, Wilson is getting a lot of hype due to his senior bowl practices. Before that he was looked at as a borderline 3rd rounder. I believe that college tape should be the #1 indicator, and from the little I’ve seen and reports I’ve read so far he’s a late 2nd rounder.

  9. avatar mole57 says:

    Brad,
Actually, the Jets ended up getting the first down two plays later (short run by TJ, then a 19 yard pass to Keller). The call was bad, but it sure wasn’t the determining factor in the game.

  10. avatar Clint says:

I like the draft, I’d rather have Cox than Wilson though. I really like the Rolle pick. I thought he didn’t want to play in the NFL so he could be a doctor? I would love for us to some how move up or get more picks so we can draft Gilyard from Cinci.

  11. avatar Igs says:

    Thanks Clint,

one thing, I had to let go of a couple of team needs due to thelack of picks. Ideally, you’d like to see a mid-round wr in the mix. Clowney ain’t getting it done in the slot. Cox is going to be a coveted
    pro.

  12. avatar Mike R says:

    Igs–

Definitely a great draft for the Jets, but I think it’s a little over ambitious especially with Rolle. That kid is just flat out impressive.

As much as I think Kiper’s mock of us drafting Golden Tate in the 1st round looks like it may have been compiled by a five year old, the Jets are still gonna take a look there. This guy from Citadel Andre Roberts has been fantastic and he’s done it all. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jets try to make a move for him.

  13. avatar NYJ10 says:

igs, oldrick sounds like a good pick. i could see them going cornerback first round though. sione pouha did a great job filling in for jenkins, as did mike devito, so depth isn’t the issue now. but age is, pouha and jenkins are both 30 and shaun ellis isn’t getting younger. if they cut lito and strickland, not to mention drew coleman is a restricted free agent, they might have to go cornerback first round. and i’d imagine them taking a receiver somewhere, probably in the second round.

  14. avatar BigBear says:

    igs

I like the mock a lot. Prior to FA, I see our needs as DE, pass rushing OLB, 2nd corner, safety, back up NT, versatile OL, S, blocking TE, punter, slot WR. Given our lack of picks in a deep draft, I would rather trade back a bit into round 2 and pick up incremental picks. Maybe a Ricky Sapp, Jerry Hughes type plus a 3 or 4 could be better than Odrick (though I do love Odrick for us). Value is probably in DL players at that point if we don’t trade. I am doing homework on CBs so no point of view yet on Wilson vs Cox, Warren, Jackson, etc . I have been hoping Rolle slips to 5 for a while now – not sure he does. Please Tanny no first or second round WR…..

  15. avatar BigBear says:

Really pissed that Time Warner doesn’t have NFL Network and missed Senior Bowl…..

  16. avatar garygold23 says:

    i thinkjets gosafety at 29

  17. avatar Harris52 Fan says:

TRADE KERRY RHODES FOR BRANDON MARSHALL!!!

  18. avatar Igs says:

    Thanks Big Bear,

I can’t say I would object trading down. There a whole loge of value in round 2 of this draft. And Hughes would definantly fill the LB roster.

  19. avatar Igs says:

    Big Bear,

what do you think about Gee so far? Any opinion reached?

  20. avatar Igs says:

There’s no safeties that warent a 29 th pick. Maybe Nate Allen.

  21. His parents should be fined for naming him Melvin Buttlick. Who does this?

  22. Igs,

Why do we need a Safety? We’ve got Jim Leonard and Rhodes is coming ’round. Don’t you think we’re better off using that pick on a Pass Rusher, Corner , maybe NG Terrence Cody or perhaps value pick should OT Anthony Davis fall. Besides, some mocks project Ghee projected to land in middles of second round. Maybe Tanny can trade up?

  23. avatar Igs says:

    Dean,

I think that touchdown to Austin collie down the middle pretty much proved that we don’t have a safety outside of Rhodes. Leonard has nice intangibles but he’s small and unathletic.

  24. avatar jetsfan101 says:

    would you trade thomas jones?

  25. avatar StopTheWildcat says:

lets trade rhodes for a first and second round pick!

  26. avatar Andy says:

Well I think that the Jets biggest need I have to agree with Dean, is a pass rusher. The Jets do not get to the QB very well with out using the blitz. Having the ability to get to the QB more often without the blitz helps out a lot. It will keep the opposing teams in panic mode. Id also like to see another WR as well to help out the offensdem but I think that we are so close to being such a dominating defense we should fine tune that and make it even better.

  27. avatar Rich K says:

Our priorities for the 2010 draft should be threefold. A pass rushing lineman, a pass rushing linebacker & a quality DB to play opposite Revis. This draft is shaping up as exceptionaly DEEP with so many quality underclassmen coming out. You can find a lot of FREE info on line with weekly updates about prospects. Let’s just hope THIS staff doesn’t get blinded by a Gholston type “workout warrior” like Mangini did. WHAT they didn’t notice he had stiff hips then? :( In terms of moving up via Mr. T’s magic. UNLESS K. Rhodes is willing to make the commitment to play TOUGH & smart on every down. Let Mr. T package him & our 1st round pick & moveup to the top 10 & get a quailty PASS rusher. When we’re able to rush the passer without blitzing 80% of the time, we’ll KNOW we have a quality D. It will make blitizes even more effective if they have to double a pass rusing linemmen. Can’t wait till next year -Go Jets!

  28. avatar ronnie says:

    1) Corner back
    2) Pass Rusher

I have been out for the day and just saw your mock…. A few things:

    - IMO the Jets will spend a 1st round pick on a DE let alone Odrick (who might be picked before we go anyway). Ryan has never had a play making DE and hasnt drafted or put much into that position. Haloti Ngata is much bigger and plas DT not DE. I think we will go OLB either Ricky Sapp, Graham or S Weatherspoon.

    - I like Wilson but I bet a team jumps in the late 1st early 2nd and grabs him. He has made quite a name for himself at the Senior Bowl this week. I would be shocked if he was around when we picked in the 2nd round. I actually like the P Robinson from FSU as much as Wilson. Ghee is a nice player.

    - I would have a heart attack is Rolle is avialable in the 5th. The guy screams coaches dream and he will get picked earlier than this. I love the pick if its happens

    - I would look for us depending on where we get a OLB that we might take a chance on an Obrien Schofield. This kid would have went in the 2nd round if he didnt get hurt at the Senior Bowl.

  31. avatar AKA....Drew says:

^ will not spend a 1st round pick on a DE

NEVER FIRE THIS MAN. I’d rather have an 0-16 season with Rex than anyone else. He rules.

    I love this guy!!

  34. avatar igs says:

    Drew,

Great to get your insights. Some points though:

Odrick is bigger than Gnata. And Gnata actually plays DE. But, because f his versatility, the switch positions a lot on that line.

I strugglled with that OLB question, but I thought it would be easier to get a contributing OLB later in the draft. As to where 3-4 DE is not very deep this year. Odrick is also about a #20-30 grade player so he could very well be there.

I’ve also taken a lot of these guys about where they were slated to fall before the Senior Bowl practices. If someone is taken earlier like Wilson or Odrick, I’d bet a high quality player, possibly OT – which is deep – falls.

There’s question marks about Rolle coming off a free year. I know I’m dreaming with that pick but it could happen.

SCofield never really had a high grade. I don’t know about Robinson either. Could be another Lito. But I haven’t watched a lot of Seminole games this season, any actually.

  35. avatar igs says:

    Gotta love Rex.

  36. avatar jetsfan101 says:

    AKA,
Although I want a pass rusher you might be right about Rex not wanting a DE I think he is going to focus on CB he loves his DB’s as has been previously mentiones

  37. avatar Clint says:

I would love a way to get Gilyard and Rolle. Those are two of my favorite players in the draft.

  38. avatar AKA....Drew says:

    igs?

I know you know alot of stuff but Haloti Ngata is 6’4 350 how is Odrick bigger?

Plus Hgata plays the same position as Jenkins he plays NT not DE/

  39. avatar Brad says:

Traded 1st rd. got Mid 2nd round pick- CB Donovan Warren

Our Late 2nd round pick- DE/OLB Austen Lane 6’6″ 270lbs. 4.65 40 time, 12 and 11 sacks the last two years.

Trade part of 1st rd deal- Mid 3rd rounder- DE Alex Carrington 6’5″ 285lbs. 4.8 40 time, 10.5 and 9 sacks last two years.

I’m into Jared Odrick- heard reports that he is not that stout at stopping the run and he is not quick enough to be a steady pass rusher. I think the DE position is good with Devitto and Douglas on that side- that side is meant to have guys that are stout at stopping the run, Jenkins and Pouha NT, and Ellis is the pass rushing DE on the Dline- we need an Ellis replacement for the future. I would trade back with our first round pick hoping to get a teams mid 2nd round pick and their 3rd round pick.

I would first draft the top CB available mid 2nd round pick- I like Donovan Warren 6’0 and runs a 4.4- fluid hips and has been compared to Revis in one article i read.

2nd pick -our late 2nd rounder- I would draft DE/OLB prospect Austen Lane out of Murray State- small school guy who is making noise at the senior bowl- he had 12 and 11 sacks the last two years- he is 6’6″ 270lbs and runs a 4.65 and has good pass rushing moves, very fluid they say. With his size and speed- think it will be interesting to see him drop in coverage every now and then.
And then if we are able to get that teams mid 3rd round selection, maybe we might have to throw in one of our late round picks to make it work- i would use that 3rd pick on another small school guy making a name for himself at the senior bowl- Alex Carrington- he is Sean Ellis’ replacement same size as Ellis now 6’5″ 285 lbs. and has the speed Ellis had when he was drafted out of college 4.8 speed.- he had 10.5 and 9 sacks the last two years- can play 4-3 DE, 4-3 DT, 3-4 DE- just like Ellis.

So the Bottom line is that I believe we need to have 3 picks between rounds 2 and the end of the third round – best way to do that is trade our first round pick. and possibly include a 5th or 6th rounder to make sure we get a 2nd and a 3rd rounder, rather than a 2nd and a 4th rounder.

  40. avatar Head_coach says:

Brad im feelin that draft man. I want at least 3-4 young beasts on that def. Yes Rex u have 2 TRADE DOWN PLEASE!!! And we need a punter somehow. Btw we dont need 2 draft no stinking slot wr. U dont draft slot wrs u CREATE THEM. Get them from FA or develope the ones we have. Besides we get to sign FA from the top 8. Colts viking pats cards saints. Get there wrs!!!

  41. avatar Head_coach says:

Ps now if u were 2 get a slot wr i got 2 words for u – MARTY GILLARD. And it aint 2 play wr its 2 play kr and pr. This guy would make devin hester and josh cribbs blink. He is a flat out BLURRRRRR!!!

  42. avatar Zartan says:

I love Odrick but once again, you guys are underminding the fact that the defense did ok without a great DE. If you know you can do ok without one ,you go to another place of need, and that would be CB ,WR, OLB ,DE, P. That order is what i believe we need. I think we should draft a WR in the 1st because we can get a good CB in the 2nd.

I would love to have Rolle in the 5th but he is now slatted to go in the 2nd rd in Mel Kipers draft.

  43. avatar AKA....Drew says:

Just look at the DE’s that Baltimore had while Ryan was there. They were not big name guys….late picks and UDFA’s.

Rex does not run a system where the DE is required to be a big player…. secondary, NT and OLB run his scheme

  44. avatar igs says:

    Drew,

Odrick is taller and younger, figuring he’ll put on at least another20 lbs in the NFL, he’ll be 6-5-320 to Ngata’s 6-4-350. Now Odrick’s arms are 4.5 inches longer. He’s an overall bigger player though he does not outweigh Ngata and I’m sure they are equals athletically.

I am running out the dor so will respond later. I think you have a legitimate point but there is mush less value for DL later in the draft, which is why I project the lineman going earlier. Could totally turn out the other way. Will say more later.

  45. avatar Jetsfantasydefense says:

Damn, didn’t know of Rex attendance at the MMA fight. Watched the first fight and the fight was stopped within 90 secs b/c the one couldn’t defend himself so I turned it off. Obviously not a daily viewer.

BTW, watched the senior bowl and B. Graham was a beast rushing off the edge and was in the backfield on runs. Tale of the tape says he has short arms, but this guy is a football player. Robinson from FSU looked good too in coverage, however if the Jets select Taylor Mays that will be an enormous disappointment, very Kerry Rhodes, tries to deliver the knock out blow and doesn’t wrap up.

IMO, the jets need to take a close look at adding depth to the o and d-lines. Not sexy, but definitely necessary. Besides, we don’t know how capable Hunter and Turner on the O-line and Jenkins, Green and Douglas on a consistent basis.

  46. avatar Igs says:

    Drew and Company,

while the poin is legitimate, I think you have to weigh the lack of a playmaker along that DL. Guys like Ngata aren’t high picks, but they make a lot of individual plays, and had time To develop behind other players. If Rex wants to win next year he maybreak precedent for a guy lie Odrick.

  47. avatar AKA....Drew says:

    lgs

I think you are confusing Ngata with some one else. Ngata was a high draft pick but dosent play DE. He was a 1st round pick (12th overall) from Oregon and play NT in the 3-4.

And he is only 25 maybe 26. He was drafted the same year and Brick and Mangold in 2006

There was not a significant 3-4 DE under Rex Ryan at any time while he ran his Baltimore defense…..and Odrick is a 3-4 DE at his size not DT or NT which is where Ngata and Jenkins play

  48. avatar AKA....Drew says:

The 2 guys I liked coming into the Senior Bowl were Robinson and Graham and they both played lights out yesterday… I have seen almost every snap of B Graham the last 2 years. He is a monster off the edge and plays the run alot better than L Woodley (who everyone compares him to) but he is short and does have short arms. He reminds me alot of E Dumervil from Denver.

I follow Michigan and alot of Big Ten games. IMO you can never go wrong drafting a Michigan LB or OL…. That will now change with the new program at Michigan but Graham is the real deal and will make an impact next year for someone……Hopefully us

  49. avatar igs says:

Drew, yeah, I didn’t track him a lot in that draft, but here is his NFL profile. He’s a DE in the NFL and I’ve seen him take plenty of snaps there. But I’ve also seen him take plenty of snaps at DT, RE, and LE. These are the kind of things Odrick would be able to do for the Jets, making plays from any line position.

I still don’t think you’re wrong. It could go either way. But I was struck by the lack of plays on the line. Those guys are solid – overacheivers in fact – but none of them were special when you needed a special player. That was against the Colts, when you needed to be able to get some pressure on Manning without blitzing more than 1 LB. If Graham were there at 29 it would be a good and bad pick. The guys is a star in the making at 4-3 DE. I keep hearing about his quick first step. Having to stand up may neutralize that. It would be a big risk. But he could turn out to be speacial at rush LB as well, much like Woodley and Harrison, who are somewhat interchangeable with linemen.

    http://www.nfl.com/players/halotingata/profile?id=NGA622937

  50. avatar igs says:

    Brad,

I like your mock. What I would be worried about in moving down is that, at 29, there is the chance that some marquee players fall and the guys at the end of the 1st round are usually the teams that benefit from those Al Davis-type draft picks.

You got about 7 or 8 tope 25 offensive lineman. A couple of those guys are going to fall. On the other hand there are a lot of serious players in the 2n and 3rd rounds of this draft. Guys like carrington could turn out to be special. However I think the Jets may be able to get Carrington in the 4th, 5th, or even the 6th round.

  51. avatar AKA....Drew says:

    igs,

Guys like….Harrison, Woodley and even Dumervil all play DE in college so the transistion is a normal one for players that understand and love football unlike the wasted pick of project Vernon Gholston.

I understand the comment of a “risky pick thoery” on Graham but the kid is a tackling maching behind the LOS and just gets to the QB…… often. He would be a natrual OLB in our system……. Have you ever seen Weatherspoon or Ricky Sapp play?? Ricky Sapp only knows one thing….its sacking the QB. He reminds me a lot of John Abraham. His speed off the corner is insane. I like him better as a pass rusher than Kindle who is a better overall player.

We will have to agree to disagree on Ngata. I have the Sunday ticket and have seen a ton of Raven games. I rarely ever saw Ngata line up against a tackle as a DE….. 90% he is always over the center or …inside in a 4-3 DT on occasion.

I just think spending a 1st rounder on a DE (even thought he kid is talented ) is not the way Rex and the Jets will go. Rex’s history shows he wont.

  52. avatar Brad says:

igs- i thought the same thing about Carrington going in the 4-6 round range, but his senior bowl week was supposedly so eye opening that nfldraftscout bumped him up to projected 3rd rounder. The thing about Odrick is he isnt a dominant pass rusher nor a dominant run stuffer in a 3-4 base style defense.
And on Brandon Graham- my major concern about him is his speed- some have him running 4.7 while others have him closer to 4.8- will see what happens at the combine.

  53. avatar AKA....Drew says:

I would not a hate a trade down here. The OL, OLB and CB position seems to be 2nd round heavy this year.

I can see alot of guys fallin gout of the 1st round with the amount of juniors coming out this year. I would hate a trade up even more. I have been a fan of what Mr T has done ( and the results prove it ) of targrting a player ( Revis, Harris, Keller etc…) and going up but this year we will get a lot of quality at #29 and again in the 2nd round.

We have to come out of this draft and limited FA with the following…..and OLB to actually sack the QB, a CB that can cover, a big RT or LG to groom and a quick WR ro play the slot and DL depth……

  54. avatar AKA....Drew says:

    Brad

The same concerns were there for L Woodley coming out of Michigan…He will run a high 4.6 low 4.7 at the combine. Plus his first step just beat quality OT in the Big Ten and Senior Bowl practice.

The problem is he is shorter 6’1 and has short arms…..but I have watched the guy for years make plays. He will be an impact pass rusher and overall player next year.

  55. avatar igs says:

    Drew,

yeah, we have to agree to disagree, but all of those guys sound good to me. Well Ngata the games I’ve seen, I’ve seen play NT and get rotated on the DL quite often. He is listed by the NFL as a DE but what he really is, is a DL. He plays every position. And that’s one of the more successful situations in Baltimore.

Eventually I may look at a draft where the jets go elsewhere but this last draft is just based on that pick. I haven’t seen Sapp or Weatherspoon play, but I know of their reputation and stats.

I think that 29 spot is really niche, and it’ll be LB, DE, or a value that falls. We’ll see.

Like I said earlier, with Woodley and Harrison, you gotta love the interchangeability between DE and LB – and if there is one defensive model I like better than Baltimore’s, it’s Pittsburgh’s so Graham, I like though he will be gone.

    Brad,

I read lot on carrington in Senior Bowl. maybe he does get up their. He made a lot of noise in practice and in game. Could be a Rex Ryan guy.

One thing about Graham, speed or no, he is a dominant, willfull player. You gotta love that. But when you talk about a player standing up, speed is one of those things you have to be more concerned about than at his natural position.

I’m a little nervous about trading down. I’d hate for one of those value teams like NE or Pitt to steal something from us that falls.

I’m always a little wary when players jump ranks after the college season is over. But in the case of small school players like Carrington, it’s the school that keeps them ranked low. So if the can have a showing against higher ranked players it bodes really well for them.

i keep hearing you talk about rex history. He has no history this is his first year coaching i thought. But maybe u are right about him not drafting big time DEs but he has failed in back to back years to get to peyton. so now maybe he knows he needs to get to peyton now. just a thought
    over and out 10-4
