jon in bk,

Ainge and O'Connell might be two good back-ups but, Shottenheimer has done absolutely nothing with our back-ups. I thought Ainge looked real good, this past pre-season. I loved Pennington but, he didn't have much of an arm prior to his recent surgery.

He is only accurate because he tosses the rock 5 to 10 years at a time!

I think you forget all the deep balls for touch downs or near touch downs to Santana Moss. Even One in a Playoff win with an injured shoulder that required surgery! Yes he hit Moss at his full speed right on the money!

Also all those 20 to 30 yard passes to Wayne all over the field.

All of those passes thrown perfectly!!!!!!

I don't think you people have watched every play of every Jet games in those years or you were too Drunk to see the plays or remember what happened the next day!

Chad is a True Jet! I am very grateful for the way he played and lead us into the playoffs. AND YES... Winning a few special Playoff games.

Lets NOT ever forget that Jets fans. If the Jet defense had been stronger at stoping the run or if John Abraham actually stayed healthy in those playoff years then maybe the Jets would have been in a championship game or in the Superbowl.

Thank You Chad!

Yes... I would love to see Chad come back to the Jets as our backup QB and down the road as a coach if he chooses to be a coach.

#1- There is no qb in the world who is decent and has no designs on starting. idk where you think this person exists

#2- The Jets need a better backup QB. If you're still hanging onto dreams of Clemens, i can't even talk to you. He is not a viable QB.

#3-Who cares what the fans/media say?

All of which is to say, hey maybe Chad is a fit here. Not that I think it will happen, but it seems the two biggest requirements for any backup you bring in are A) Is he going to run the offense better than KC? and B) Could he possibly help Sanchez's development?

You tell me who fits that bill better than CP, and is available/affordable.

Hey Alex RELAX, we all loved chad while he was here. I still have his jersey. But his time is done and now its sanchez's time to shine. It would be stupid to think bringing chad back would be a good idea. Do you really think Rex is thinking of bringing this guy in. Shotty helped Chad and Drew Brees develop i think he doesn't need Chad in Sanchez's ear. The truth is Sanchez brought this team further then Chad ever did annd sure he beat the Colts 41-0 but he also was the guy that lost to the Raiders 42-0...c'monnn.

personally i love chad, but that ship has sailed. the new era of a new Jets team has come and this is Sanchez's team. i don't want chad back unless hes a coach and after Sanchez has been in the league a few years. like i said, this is a new era of Jets football.

I'll say again, I have great admiration for Pennington. He has tremendous heart and character and gave the Jets everything he had, in spite of his physical limitations. I'm grateful for the wins he helped to engineer, but I just don't think he fits in with the current team and the new identity that Ryan is building. Ryan's approach is more brash, aggressive and risk tolerant. I think Sanchez should be given the opportunity to develop and grow his own style within that environment, without the shadow of an all-time fan favorite - with a very different skill-set and approach - hanging over him.

FOR ANYONE THAT THINKS CHAD PENNINGTON WILL NOT BE THE BEST BACK UP FOR THE NEW YORK JETS THEN YOUR NOT A TRUE NEW YORK JETS FAN. DO ANY OF YOU CLOWNS REMEMBER WHAT KIND OF QB'S THIS TEAM HADE FOR THE LAST 40 YR'S? CHAD BROUGHT LIFE TO THIS FRANCHISE HE GAVE JETS FAN'S HOPE AND HE BROUGHT US TOO MORE PLAYOFF GAMES THEN ANY OTHER JETS QB. PLUS IF THAT SELFESH # 4 DIDN'T COME INTO TOWN LIKE A SHORT STORM . THEN WE ALL KNOW # 10 WOLD STILL BE A JET LIKE HE SHOULD BE FOREVER.. I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF CHAD PENNINGTON AS THE 2ND BEST NEW YORK JETS QB.. BRING HIM HOME AND GIVE HIM THE BACK UP JOB AND ON FIELD COACH.. WE ALL KNOW HE WILL BE A COACH IN THIS LEAGUE SOON ANYWAY.. AND DONT FORGET IT WAS #10 WHO BEAT PEYTON MANNING 41-0 IN THE PLAYOFF'S!!!!!!!

Sorry guys chad's not coming to the JETS, he still wants to be a starter and sanchez is our starter. I also dont think sanchez needs chads shadow creepin around in the backround w the media attention he would get coming back. Sanchez is our guy lets forget about Chad (where did my arm strength go) Pennington.
